Re: Can Bitcoin Survive In A Deflationary Economy?
by
tsaroz
on 24/07/2025, 16:41:11 UTC
I have been learning about how central banks usually target 2% inflation for economic growth. Still, Bitcoin has a fixed supply and can even become deflationary over time if people lose access to their wallets.
So I'm interested to know about a few things;

Can Bitcoin work well in a deflationary environment where the value keeps rising and people prefer to save rather than spend?

Would an economy based on Bitcoin slow down because people won’t want to spend their BTC?

Or would it encourage smarter spending and long-term thinking instead of constant consumption?

I’m just trying to understand if Bitcoin can really replace fiat money while keeping an economy active, especially since deflation is usually seen as a risk in traditional systems.

Bitcoin should be considered more like gold than money. When there is uncertainty in economy people would surely turn to gold and bitcoin as they would always have a value regardless of what happens to the state or it's issued money. The world is moving towards a permanent economic slowdown. It's not that people don't want to spend or all they want is to save but it's that there are no good opportunities to invest. The interest rates on deposit are at one of its lowest yet people are keeping their money in the banks rather than investing as they know the market is slowing down.
Bitcoin on the other hand would get rarer, more so than gold and with its solid SHA-256 Hashing and UTXO Model there's no reason for people not to trust its authenticity.

A compensatory win for Pakistan on the three match T20 series against Bangladesh.
Pakistan batting first made a decent score of 178 with the loss of 7 wickets in designated 20 overs. Opener Sahibzada Farhan was the highest scorer with individual 63 runs. Bangladesh while chasing the target lost the wickets early. They were 41 for 7 at a time with only two players having a two digit score. The highest scorer for Bangladesh was Mohammad Saifuddin with 35 not out while second highest scorer was the extra runs provided by Pakistan totaling to 13.
Pakistan and Bangladesh are not really different. The 2nd match was a close call but Bangladesh won while the first was an easy win for Bangladesh. Bangladesh won the three match series 2-1 but their real test would be against the next series they are playing against India.

India is suffering from the same problem in each game. They have a decent start but their middle and low order fails to perform. They were 264 for 4 at the end of 1st day. People would have expected them to play most of the 2nd day and reach closer to 400 but they lost wickets quicker and were all out in 358. Now England has started chasing and are 77 for no loss with atleast 42 more overs remaining for the day. England are scoring at a run rate of 5.5 which is an impressive feat, they are looking to chase India quick. I think England already has an advantage against India and are more likely to win this match.

Re: Tether (USDT) - Is pretending to be audited.

It's not a surprise that Tether don't have equivalent reserve for its stablecoin. Even the Tether team has indirectly accepted it that they count the money they loaned as the reserve for the token as well Bitcoin and Gold. Bitcoin and Gold are relatively safer but loaned amount could default anytime. Some reports tell even these three would add up to 100% of Tether and they are being minted out of thin air. Not being able comply with EU rules and taking time to have US compliance proves that.

Tether is a risk but the team has promised to keep improving how it operates and have an actual audit soon. There are not much better option for traders as alternative to USDT, there USDC but it doesn't even trade with 10% of what USDT does.

Re: What is the cost of your mistakes?
by
tsaroz
on 23/07/2025, 16:02:22 UTC
I assume that people come to the gambling industry as inexperienced people. And in the process of their activities, they gradually learn from their mistakes. Unfortunately, some of these mistakes are dramatic and cause us quite serious psychological trauma. As a rule, this is due to gross errors and stupid persistent beliefs that push us to the edge of the financial abyss.

First of all, this is risk management and money management. The second is probably unsystematic play. Let me make a reservation that I do not mean casinos, as well as people playing "for fun". I mean sports betting.
So, how much did your mistakes cost? Did they cause you a serious psychological blow? What were your mistakes, did you learn from these mistakes and do you apply this knowledge in practice now? Were these mistakes simply painful, dramatic or catastrophic?

Every analytical mistakes or mistakes you make while sticking with your plan are never huge. Even if you are making mistakes or losing your bets, you are mostly in control.
The worst kind of mistake a gambler makes is a rage bet. One where you go all in with everything you have. I have been through it and I know how mentally challenging the subsequent circumstances are. Some people die due to the mistakes they made. There are some addictive gamblers who on the rage did homicides and many who did suicides. It's easy to dismiss it as a bad uncontrolled decision but many experienced gamblers too could fall for it any day. Everyone should be cautious and strong stick to their budgeting when it comes to gambling.

Re: UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Season

That is the biggest issue when teams or clubs decide to buy players because of their name and not because of their quality and type of game and how it fits into the team. That was one of the problems PSG was fighting with for a very long time when the most important attribute was a high price and a big name. But then they had these three players namely Mbappe, Neymar and Messi and while it was fun to watch them play sometimes, you could see that they were not the perfect combination of players to play against more carefully chosen squads.

that's what mijatović said, if real madrid hoards big-name players with huge market values, it could be counterproductive. too many star players can cause problems, such as ego, roles, etc. and because of that, xabi alonso needs to find a solution to this problem so that vini and mbappe can get their best positions and show their best performance, or else this will affect real madrid's front line.

Well said. Individual stars are tempting but just accumulating the stars won't make you a team. Every part of the team and a coordination between them is most important than having star players. Real Madrid last season was a example of such disaster. It was already a Spanish and European champion and it further bought large names. Even I claimed that Real Madrid are the champions even without Mbappe and no one could beat them with Mbappe but I was very wrong. Real Madrid was a good team but not as impressive as the last season. A team with less stars but more balanced team, Barcelona took the Spanish League while Real Madrid was also defeated early in European Champions league. A defender, midfielder are as important as the forward and more important is they be in a natural state of sync with each other.

On a very exciting game, English women came from a verge of defeat to win the semifinals against Italy to reach the finals. Italy were 1-0 up from the 33rd minute. England scored an equalizer in 96th minute, among the last minutes of injury time. If only Italy could have held a few more minutes but the goal by Michelle Agyemeng who was in as a substitute in 85th minute sent the game into Extra time. On the second half of extra time, England got a penalty which was saved by the Italian goalkepper but the subsequent attack by penalty taker Chloe Kelly who also was a substitute made England win.

Re: Ensuring generational wealth
by

on 22/07/2025, 16:45:44 UTC
I hear a lot of young people wishing they can build generational wealth for their kids. The kids of their kids and the kids of their kids' kids. But is it really up to us? We can build wealth now and leave all our assets to our kids but how can be sure they can protect the wealth and make it grow even more?

Honestly the best thing we can do is to teach our kids and hope that all the things we got to accomplish for them won't be put into waste. Build your portfolio now. Invest in assets that will be profitable in the long term so you can leave this to your kids.

IMO it's useless to think about earning for generations to come. The money and being rich and poor depends on the person inheriting the wealth. The best we could do is teach our kids the economic lessons we have learned. We won't be there to teach our next generations and if our lessons had been successful ones, the ideas may convey further but it's no entirely on our hand.

The riches accumulated now might not be worth it after 100 years. Inflation would decrease the value of fiat while even something rare as bitcoin might lose its value due to competition or the rapid advancement of quantum computers outpacing bitcoin's security improvements. Gold too could in future be synthesized at will or mined from an asteroid.

A low scoring match yet a close game. Bangladesh batting first made a score of 133. They had a bad start but the partnership and individual score of Jaker Ali 55 and Mahedi Hasan 33 led them to a score they could look to defend. Pakistan chasing the small target had even worse start. At a time, they were 47 for 7 and it was almost certain that they would lose but the batting by bowlers and bowling all rounders, specially Faheem Ashraf's 51 let them had an unexpected comeback with needing just 14 runs from 7 balls with 2 wickets remaining. But the the crucial moment, they lost their remaining wickets and were allout losing to Bangladesh by 8 runs.
With this win, Bangladesh has won the 3 match T20 series 2-0.

Pakistan team has performed relatively well in second T20I compared to first match. Bangladesh team were all out in 20 overs for 133 runs, Jaker Ali played a valuable knock for his team at a time when four wickets were down for just 28 runs. It's Jaker Ali and Mahedi Hasan partnership that has rescued Bangladesh batting. The target is not big but we saw Pakistani batting lineup struggling to score runs in first match. If Bangladesh can get few quick wickets then they can put Pakistani batting under pressure.

After Bangladesh lost 4 top order batsmen for just 28 runs, I expected Bangladesh's innings to end in the range of 100-110 runs. But Bangladesh managed to score 133 runs. This is not a bad total on such a pitch. If Bangladeshi bowlers can do their job properly, the match will be competitive.

Pakistan lost two wickets in the first two overs. The team lost the important wickets of Mohammad Haris and Saim Ayub for 9 runs. And after 3 overs, Pakistan's total is 13 runs. After losing wickets so quickly, naturally Pakistan is under a lot of pressure now. It is in Pakistan's favor to win this match too. Even though Bangladesh has given a target of only 134 runs, I consider Bangladesh the favorite to win at the moment.

I decided to bet on Pakistan at the innings break. The odds was low but I was certain that Pakistan would chase the target of 134 which is pretty low but now it seems pipe dream. They have lost 5 wickets at 20 runs in 7 overs. There could not be a greater humiliation for a team. Bangladesh too was on a dire situation at a time with 4 for 28 but Jaker Ali and Mehdi Hasan rescued them. There's still Salman Agha on crease but with the decreased run rate, it would be really difficult for Pakistan to achieve the target. If Pakistan keeps on repeating such performance, they would be easily defeated by associates teams.

Manchester United has signed Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. Mbeumo is arguably the MVP of Brentford last season and the highest scorer for Brentford, which performed better than Manchester United. This deal means Manchester United would get a new forward who is used to the league and it's the record highest sell for Brentford. Man U seems to be doing all it can to bolster the team before the next season. They had also previously got Matheus Cunha who was also the top goal scorer from Wolves.

Re: Visited physical casinos to have real life experience and guess what?

I don't go to physical casinos to play digital slot machines. They are same whether you play physically or on your PC. The real fun are around poker, roulette and Baccarat. There's where more people are and you don't necessarily need to play to enjoy.
I haven't myself gone much into a physical casino but here we need to buy a minimum amount of chips to enter which also includes a free drink. You can play as much and stay even if you are out of chips. Physical casino is much about being with people than gambling, at least for me.
I  enjoy gambling online. I could have different strategy and go martingale online while its possible in physical casino but it get awkward after some time.

Re: Economic differences between older and younger generation
by
tsaroz
on 21/07/2025, 10:37:15 UTC
Anyone noticed some differences between economic factors during the old times compared to now and how people react to these conditions?

Obviously inflation has made the prices these days a lot more expensive. Maybe this is why the older generation easily got to buy houses and properties. They also had very low to no student debts as well. One thing I noticed is that the older generation are more likely to stay in a work for a lifetime.

But the younger generation tend to go job hopping, switching from one job to the next until they find something perfect for them. The younger generation seems to prioritize a work life balance that is why a lot of them only work from home or work only as freelance.

Are there any characteristics from the older generation you would want the younger ones to learn so they can progress economically?

The overall circumstances, our economic model and job market are ever changing. It has been more dynamic on last 25 years than it ever was. The difference between the priorities, preferences, job and business of new generation are going to be different than the old one.
Another factor to consider is today and next few years would be the toughest time to get a job. There are largest number of young people seeking job than there ever were and ever will be. As more of the todays youth gets integrated in job market, the future job market would be more difficult to predict.
There would be an ever lasting demographic and economic crunch coming in next decade and beyond.
Our lifestyle maybe much different than what we have now in next 20 years.

Re: Taking risks responsibly.

Responsible risk is a phrases widely used in many sectors. For gambling responsible risks are the best you make with your self will without any influence. Making bets when intoxicated, or on high stress, rage betting are examples of how you could be gambling irresponsibly.
Some may argue that seeking for low chance bets is irresponsible but it's not as the low chance bets have higher multiplier. It may be a long shot but it'd not irresponsible as it's similar to betting on high chance outcome which gives less multiplier and you get a small portion of your bet. The risks on both case are same.

I'm very comfortable with leverage in pionex. It feels I'm in more control of what I'm leveraging on and with. Though you need to click the customize option but it still feels much more easier than editing the settings on any other exchange. I'm also doing leverage with binance, Kucoin and Bitget.

The OP is right. We may not realize it and we may consider ourself poor. But having access to internet and a private device to access it makes us among the privileged group of people. We might have our own story, the struggles of our parents and our struggle which has led us to today where we are but almost all of us has some form of formal education and basic health service.
Bitcoin and crypto is a solid technology and it has created a value but however decentralized its distribution maybe, it's still a very minute percentage of the world population. I don't have the exact data but what I can say for sure is more than half of the people in the world has never transacted any crypto. Let alone invest it for potential profit in the future.

Look at the New Zealand batting lineup. They have explosive batsmen such as Tim Seifert, Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell. Given this, and given the current state of Zimbabwe bowling, I would say that even a target of 180 is not going to be enough. The only quality bowler in Zimbabwe squad is Blessing Muzarabani. And in recent times, his form has deteriorated considerably. And there are not too many other players there to support him. Given all this, I would expect the Kiwis to win in less than 12 overs.
New Zealand chased down the target of 120 runs in just 13 overs and secured a big win by 8 wickets, losing their two wickets. All the players in the New Zealand squad, especially the batsmen, are T20-style players, so a target of 120 runs is a very easy score for them. Although they lost one wicket for five runs in the beginning, they were able to put pressure on the New Zealand batsmen later, which allowed New Zealand to complete their target of 120 runs in 13.5 overs.

New Zealand has placed themselves as the strongest team in the T20 series. Zimbabwe was already the weakest team to start with but a defensive game, Zimbabwe were able to play their whole 20 overs but only made a small score of 120. New Zealand chasing the small target were sure of the win and wanted to get it as soon as possible.
The tournament would end with a final match between New Zealand and South Africa and New Zealanad would be looking to have an all win tournament. As a preparation for the upcoming T20 world cup next year.

If Napoli doesn't act fast and allow Osimhen go to the club of his choice, they'll become the loser when his contract expires. I feel that Napoli management is not looking it from this angle because they feel they have the power to dictate for Osimhen which club to go to. Osimhen does not give a fuck about all these and he didn't allow that to affect his performance.
The Napoli board knows that Victor Osimhen will become a free agent next season, and they will be on the losing side if that happens, but I don't know why they don't want to allow Victor Osimhen to join Galatasaray this season so that Victor Osimhen won't leave them as a free agent next year. The club Victor Osimhen will join isn't the problem why Victor Osimhen is yet to leave Napoli this season, but I think it is the buy-in clause Napoli attached to Victor Osimhen's transfer that's preventing Victor Osimhen's move to Galatasaray.

There's still time for that. All the parties might be negotiating for a deal that would benefit them the most. Napoli selling Victor Osimhen would be a good deal than leaving him as a free agent. Napoli has already signed in players that could replace Osimhen so they might be looking for a good deal to Turkey or anywhere else.
The largest deal of today, Thiago Almada from Botafogo who was mostly on a loan to Lyon last season has been transfered to Atletico Madrid for 24.5 million Euros. Atletico Madrid had tried many changes for next season but their 3rd place in la liga was not in danger at all.

Re: The Dangers of Becoming a Professional Gambler

on 17/07/2025, 23:19:35 UTC
I can't imagine myself being a professional gambler but I know a few people who claims to be the professional gambler and the thing they hid from us is Gambling is not their only source of income. They are involved in either content creation or some sort of advertising. They seem to be involved with some gambling business as a successful gambling icon is an attractive PR for other trying to gamble. They are also accused of falsely reporting their wins or not reporting their loses in order to attract people. People following them seems to be attracted towards the platform they used to generate the supposed profit which is a great way of advertising for the network.
