Post your favorite Bitcoin related jokes here. I'll try to get the ball rolling:
Q: Where will people exchange Bitcoins for dollars in ten years?
A: The antique shop.

Re: Creationists disbelieve in not just evolution, but now the periodic table.

Whoever made this infographic does not understand the periodic table.  Yes it is changing as our knowledge of elements changes. The debate is where to put different elements and how they relate to each other.
Kinda like a debate over where the letter Q should go in the alphabet, not whether letters really exist.

Thank you, Jokes McSplainerton, I think that was kind of the point. It's a parody of creation science arguments.

Very nice service and good looking website! Can you make it so that we can look at transactions from longer periods than 4 hours? Maybe 24? Very nice all around though Grin

I imagine more people would be interested (trolls aside) if you gave a little bit more information about what you're looking for. You don't have to let the cat out of the bag about what you;re doing, but what skills are you looking for? Do you need coding, web design, financial advice or what?

Looking foreword to finding out the mystery of Woolong financial Grin

Re: What's the most popular use for Bitcoins?

Honestly, the largest use is probably still as an investment vehicle through the exchanges and the various funds here in the marketplace forum (bitpyramid, etc). There still aren't that many vendors bit it's getting better!

Re: Newbie restrictions

I thought this idea was a good one, but it's obvious it doesn't stop trolls and idiots from shitting up the forums.

Want a real way to solve the issue? Make people pay to play, or find a way to verify that people are actually using or involved with bitcoins.

Thx

+1

Right now it just takes time/effort to get around the restrictions. If anything the trolls have proven that they have nothing bit time on their hands, probably more so than actual people. A small BTC fee (maybe just a few bitcents) would keep out people who aren't using bitcoins, or at least make the trolls download the client and get some coins. Maybe a few will get interested for real when they do Grin

Re: Moving Bitcoin wallet and all contents permenently to external HDD?

For full security, I would transfer the coins into a new wallet in a hidden truecrypt partition on the external drive and then secure the drive. Then you'll be safe even if the drive is physcially compromised

Re: More blocks/hour please

Would it be possible to trim the blockchain by periodically publishing a block with the status of all current bitcoins?  Then one could delete the history between these events?  Almost like a system checkpoint event.

Forever having to store the entire transaction history won't scale.  If that is what is needed, then eventually it seems like most people will need to use hosted wallets.

This is an interesting idea if we can make the checkpoints verifiable. The system right now is secure because the client can verify the entire block chain.

The only thing thats over is the early spec bubble. Once Bitcoins become more useful for your average (stupid) user to make purchases they'll regain traction. Hard to say when they'll bottom out though.
