Re: I get hacked, 2.4 bitcoin stolen from coinomi wallet

I express my deepest sympathy to you. It's very unfortunate that this happened to you, especially when the price of bitcoin is so high that you can really get depressed because of this event. But I'll tell you what - many people, for their own reasons, often threw away their old computers and laptops and then realized that there was a fortune left in bitcoins. I think that you should not think about it a lot - you need to live on and get the most out of your situation. Thanks for sharing your story.

Re: Why bitcoin is going up during war?
by

Bitcoin is always growing. Just look at his history after the start of the exchange and trading. Each new historical turn - bitcoin shows a new height. During this time, conflicts began and ended around the world. This did not particularly affect bitcoin and its quotes. I think this time, despite the scale of the conflict, bitcoin will show that it is still an excellent tool for insuring your assets during such a period from inflation and other risks. USDT and USDC are also suitable for this, but it seems to me to a lesser extent.

Re: Women and Cryptocurrency

My mother is 70 years old and she has been asking me for 3 years to buy cryptocurrency for a certain (small) amount of money every month. This is her decision that she made when we discussed the issue of saving money in the face of inflation and the issue of inheritance in general. I fully supported her and began to add my part to her investments - together we have already accumulated a good set of coins, which have grown quite well over the years. This is how my mother, a person far from investments and cryptocurrencies, once made a very right decision. I think there are many such examples.

Re: Cryptocurrency will not save Russia from sanctions
by

Cryptocurrency is not even considered as the only means of saving Russia, the friends who live there are generally quite calm for such a situation. When I tried to clarify the reason for their calmness, they told me that the country has a very small external debt, good macroeconomic indicators, large reserves, and most importantly, the population supports Putin. Therefore, there will be no internal unrest, much less a revolution, for sure. The only thing that is unpleasant is the increase in prices in stores. (But where are store prices not rising today?)

Re: Binance is refusing to block Russian customer's crypto wallets.

I don’t understand at all how it is possible, because of the actions of the leadership of the country or the government, to punish the population in such "draconian" ways. What will be the effect? What do they expect even just to propose such measures? Do they really think that people who lose their cryptocurrencies will go to the streets of their cities to demand something? This is naive and very dangerous. In addition, it will lead to an outflow of a huge number of customers.

Re: How come BTC is not at least $75,000 yet?
by
willoweb
on 02/03/2022, 14:27:16 UTC
The question is not "why?", the question is "when?". Now the whole world is watching the drama in Ukraine. The world economy is in a fever very seriously, and if the war does not end quickly, a crisis is inevitable throughout the world. The question is where will people be saved during this turbulent period? Answer: they will invest in bitcoin not even for profit, but to minimize their losses. Then the price will very quickly go to those levels about which there was a question, and maybe even higher. I think we will see such a situation already during this spring.

Re: To what extent are Russians capable of storing their riches in Bitcoin?
by

When the whole world is up in arms against Russia, one should expect that it will be disconnected from all financial mechanisms of the West. If so, then bitcoin will be one of those ways that Russia will go to get around all these restrictions in the financial sector. I think that Russia still occupies a serious position in the global economy - and there will be losses for those who impose sanctions against it.

Re: bitcoin private key storage
by

When I thought about the security of my keys, at first I wanted to spend money on a "cold" wallet, but then I realized that any storage medium can perform this function. The main thing is not to connect this storage medium anywhere until you decide to use everything that is there. If I'm wrong, please explain to me how an expensive wallet differs from a regular memory card?

Re: Buy Bitcoin, You'll Thank Me Later - Mexican Billionaire Says

Looking at the current price of bitcoin - it seems that the advice was timely! Smiley It's a pity I didn't have time to use it. I think that due to the instability in the markets and this whole situation in Ukraine, there will still be an opportunity to profit from the volatility of the bitcoin and other currencies. I am sure that this whole war will not last long because everyone is interested in peace today!

Re: Bitcoin price goes down as Russia begins Ukraine invasion
by
willoweb
on 24/02/2022, 15:11:03 UTC
The Russians will be at least another 2-3 weeks to "put things in order" on the territory of Ukraine. Since no one can prevent this in any way, the fall in the price of bitcoin will obviously continue. I am sure that we will still find the "bottom", but most likely this bottom will be found as early as next month, when some political way out of the current situation in Ukraine today will be found. I want to believe that the war will end quickly.

Re: Russia cut off from Swift is fantastic opportunity for bitcoin
by
willoweb
on 24/02/2022, 15:00:00 UTC
I fully agree with the thesis of the author. The number and volume of transactions in bitcoins from Russia will grow, SWIFT may be turned off and this will even cause problems for the financial system of the Russian Federation. But this topic has been discussed for quite a long time and it will not come as a surprise. In addition, there is the factor of losing an "important client". After all, there is a huge amount of money. Why waste this money because of Ukraine? I am sure that this will not happen in any case until Russia is at war with the North Atlantic Alliance.

Re: Bitcoin and international conflict
by

Such a situation that is developing in Ukraine threatens not only the price of bitcoin, but also the entire stock market in the world. Oil and gas prices are breaking new records, it seems that prices will continue to rise, as the situation will not magically end. This conflict will last at least 2-3 weeks until the Russians clean up the mess and settle down. So you need to wait, carefully monitor the course and buy at the very bottom. And then, as usual, to the moon! Smiley

Re: Ukraine Just Legalized Bitcoin
by
willoweb

Any country that legalizes bitcoin in the context of legalization in its fiscal system, where the state legally fixes a certain percentage for the production or resale of cryptocurrency. I believe that Ukraine will find within itself the intellectual potential to create a cluster in the economy focused only on cryptocurrency and projects related to it.

Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻
by

El Salvador did everything right when he legalized bitcoin and began to create a physical infrastructure for its conversion, exchange, sale, and so on. I believe El Salvador is doing the right thing strategically and that future generations will benefit and gain momentum from such decisions today. I believe that investments directed in this direction will show their effectiveness over time.

Re: Bitcoin doesn't have a bright future anymore
by
willoweb
on 21/02/2022, 15:18:29 UTC
In general, I agree with the conclusions, but bitcoin is still forever. Let me explain why: bitcoin is not just a cryptocurrency, it has long become a kind of index for all areas of cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is already a real symbol. And the symbol is even more difficult to defeat than everything that is hidden behind it. Therefore, even if the specific use is somehow limited in the future, owning bitcoin itself will be akin to owning some kind of very expensive antiques - which, as we all know, only becomes more expensive over the years.

Re: Bitcoin - Environmental Menace
by
willoweb
on 21/02/2022, 15:14:17 UTC
The threat to the environment has existed since we (all people in developed and developing countries) switched to an industrial way of producing something. As soon as this happened, the inevitable process of chasing profits began, and against the backdrop of ever-increasing competition in the global economy, there are no prerequisites to hope that this process will be stopped or slowed down. And, of course, all this has been happening so long ago that the person who invented bitcoin (whoever he or they may be) had not yet been born. So all this is nonsense.

Re: what gives Bitcoin it value?
by
willoweb
on 20/02/2022, 14:19:46 UTC
The value of bitcoin is obviously given by its limited number, increasing demand, a growing number of miners mining bitcoin - this ensures, as you know, the reliability of the network. There is a growing awareness among the public that bitcoin is a great long-term investment tool. There is also a large and growing interest among large investors in bitcoin as part of an investment portfolio. All these factors, together with legalization in different countries, positively affect its value.

Re: Russia's approval of BTC
by

Insuring yourself in such a situation is not a bad idea. True, I absolutely cannot believe that Russia, even in the most terrible events, will be disconnected from SWIFT. This is the dumbest thing you can do. Firstly, in recent years Russia has demonstrated an excellent ability to circumvent any sanctions, reduce their impact on the national economy, and secondly, even if this happens, who will benefit from this? When one door closes, another opens somewhere. So it will be here. China will help Russia cope with such a problem, but Russia will never come back.

Re: What can you actually buy with Bitcoin?
by
willoweb
on 20/02/2022, 14:07:35 UTC
It is obvious that in some countries where there is already an infrastructure and a loyal attitude towards cryptocurrency, you can buy almost everything. If you do not make a purchase directly for bitcoin, and for example, exchange it for any national currency, then this can generally be done almost everywhere, except for a number of countries where there is a strict ban on the use, exchange and sale. In general, according to the current dynamics, there will be more and more such countries where you can buy something for bitcoin every year.
