I tried to do a Bitcoin to Litecoin exchange today through Changelly.com, and this is how it went.
Changelly received my Bitcoins within a few minutes but yet their system was saying "Awaiting payment". Which i thought was weird. So I waited for a couple of more confirmations. At this point on the blockchain, my transaction had 4 confirmations, so i proceeded to contact their support team.
Their response was there was a technical issue. I asked them what the issue was and they used the "there is a technical issue with Bitcoin" excuse, which is impossible because the mempool is clear and Bitcoin transactions are working flawlessly. I got freaked out and asked for a refund because i checked the google reviews and there were tons of "Changelly is a scam" posts across the net.
At this point the support team asked for my Bitcoin address, which i gave them. But it has nearly been 24 hours and nothing has been refunded.
They are now ignoring all my support tickets and the more i read online, the more i realize changelly is a scam. I trusted Charlie (Shrem) because he recommended this company to me personally. It's a shame they are tarnishing so many good peoples names over a few bitcoin here and there.

TLDR : Changelly have scammed for a considerable amount of Bitcoin and are now ignoring me.

PS. I will update this community as soon as i get an update. If im mistaken, il admit it. But as of now, Changelly.com is 100% a scam.

It's a good thing that you've understood that you've indeed gotten ripped off by changelly.

It also seems like that they are selectively scamming users out of their money. Only the larger trasnactions ever get delayed and the smaller transactions rarely have any issues. And they always come up with excuse after excuse.

If they're not responding to you via support emails, then try posting a message on their reddit channel: https://www.reddit.com/r/Changelly/

Based on other people's past experiences, they are much more likely to respond if you reach out via a social platform because they have pressure to resolve your complaint asap.

Yes, i will hound them on social media for eternity. There is no way they will get away with scamming me or anyone else for that fact. I will not forget this. It's just sad Charlie's name has to be dragged into the huge fallout that will ensue over Changelly's scamming ways.

Yes, i accept i should of done more research. But FFS, Charlie Shrem himself recommended these cowboys. Based on Charlie's word, i trusted them. It's disgusting how they are ruining a decent person's name and legacy. I was naive to follow someone i respect so blindly. Shame on me!

But i will not stop until Changelly.com is out of business. The more i read into this company, the more i realize they need to be shuttered asap.

Ledger Wallet and Litecoin - IMPORTANT Question
by
zeusk
on 13/05/2017, 15:56:46 UTC
I just got my ledger nano s hardware wallet.

Im confused.. over 1 thing mainly.

I have written down my seed. And i have set up the wallet. But lets say i store Bitcoins, Litecoins and Ethererum. How does the seed recovery work for all the coins?

For an example if i had 50BTC, 50LTC, 50ETH.. And i lost my Ledger nano s..  How would that 24 word seed recover coins on 3 different blockchains? That is the part which confuses the hell out of me.

Is the seed actually universal across all 3 coins (can be recovered on each and every chain, on their most trusted wallet client)? Or does it ONLY work on Ledger wallets (which is the part im scared about, because that would mean its too centralized and i dont trust ledger servers with my coins).

Also do the ledger servers know my seed??

Best way to swap large amounts of BTC to LTC / BTC to LTC.

What is the safest and quickest way to switch between LTC and BTC or BTC to LTC ?
I am looking to do considerably large trades.

Shapeshift is a JOKE! They take hours to complete exchanges and even worse sometimes they just refund you minus hefty fee's. For no reason!
Poloniex look they are becoming the new Mtgox. As they are refusing withdrawals.

There is some good news on some of crypto today, if you are in for a quick profit, you can buy insane, digibyte  they have incoming good development for the next weeks or months and probably can hype the price. And if you are in for long term bay, maidsafe are a good buy.  The had been here for some years, and have been long since it was hyped.
And what are your thoughts on lisk? You"we missed that one.

Where is the Lisk whitepaper?? Dont mention LISK publicly again. Or i will petition you to be banned from this forum. Azzhole!

The new Litcoin ATH will become evident within the next 2.5 weeks.
Im prediciting a $65 to $75 LTC price in the short term.
Long term LTC will be at $150!

Mark my words. I can look into the future based on pure fundementals + technicals - FUD.

All is resolved! They refunded me back my Bitcoins. But guess what?? I will have to now exchange to litecoins, but litecoin price has gone up.

So thank you Shapeshift.io for making me miss an opportunity!

Shapeshift.io have replied.

Apparently they will refunding me back my Bitcoins (which is pointless as i desperatly needed Litecoins). I feel as though they just "borrowed" my Bitcoins for 5 days at 0% interest. And even worse, during this time Litecoin price has been bubbling upwards. But i will wait and see how this goes. I will update the bitcointalk community when they (Shapehift) refund me.

Im disappointed. To say the least. I could of just held my Bitcoins for the last 5 days on my Electrum wallet, i did not need shapeshift to "store" my coins for me.

Shapeshift.io possible Scam Alert! Read my story.

Hello guys,

I made 5 seperate transactions through Shapeshift.io last week (5 days ago) All transactions were for Bitcoin to Litecoin.
All my transactions were worth around $1600 combined.

I have checked on blockchain and they have received my Bitcoins with many confirmations. But they have not sent me my Litecoins.
I have contacted support and they said the Bitcoins took too long to confirm. And as such would refund me, which is unacceptable because they have my coins and i want Litecoins (which have increased in price since). On top of that, they have not replied to any of my emails/tickets in the last 3 days.

At the moment i am clearly being scammed.

A) I have no Bitcoins or Litecoins.
B) I am being ignored by their support staff.

I will continue to email their support team, but its clear Shapeshift.io are incapable of fulfilling orders! For God's sake it has nearly been a whole week.

Re: No ID exchange ? (Crypto to Crypto trades only)
by

on 16/04/2017, 16:48:51 UTC
Hello,

I am looking for exchanges who dont require ID (sensitive information) for Bitcoin to Litecoin/Ethereum/Alt coin trades.
Shapeshift.io is not suitable anymore due to volume i want to trade.

I repeat i am not looking to exchange out to fiat. Only Crypto to Crypto trades.

Any ideas?

As far my own precious mind is concerned, most of the web xchanges doesn't require ID verfication but you are under the category of their tier limits. Low limits for unverified is expected to be low. The verification are mandatory if you will passed their limits.

For your stated example above,$10,000 worth of transfers a day is suspicious and surely it will alarmed the system of the said exchanges so expect some issues here before you can proceed. So I doubt there is an exchange who can grant you this limit without any verification needed.

Suspicious? hmmm... there was me thinking "Crytocurrency" was the future.
I think i will just set up an exchange with NO ID requirments. For anything cryto related. No fiat allowed!

Lets say im exchange $10k worth of BTC to ETH or LTC a day (vice versa). I need a trusted exchange who does not need ID. Or who does not do a 2/3 day waiting period for withdrawals for new members.

If miners stop dumping LTC 24/7. We will see a bubble. Market supply has to be restricted. My message to the LTC-Miners is to ONLY sell to keep the electricity on and hold the rest, dont rush to BTC. Hodl, now is the time to HODL.
Lets DOUBLE what was seen on DASH.
