Hello,
Could you please add Riecoin to your site?
Algorithm is primesr and is CPU mine-able only

What will be the impact on the total supply if explorer duplicate those blocks?

Is there any plan to upgrade on 0.18 client?

The coins are not duplicated, the explorer is in error by interpreting the dummy output in addition to the correct block.
The block numbers are the same, there is only one block, not two.

What is wrong with this address?

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ric/extraction.dws?1178374.htm

Explorer still shows over 8M RIC on Poloniex. What will happen with that amount?

There is nothing wrong with RLGz address, that's a miner.

I think these are coins that were abandoned from disabled Poloniex users who did not complete KYC before the deadline. IMHO they are as good as burnt coins. Some people speculate Circle/Goldman sachs could dump them in the future all at once, but that would be illegal so it's very unlikely.

Hi,

I am trying to solo mine with the rieminer recommended https://github.com/Pttn/rieMiner/releases

But I got the error when finding a 6-tuple:

Base prime: 3......
Sent: {"method": "submitblock", "params": ["2....."], "id": 0}
Submission rejected :| ! Received: {"result":"inconclusive","error":null,"id":0}

Could you help understand what is going wrong here?

I generated 4 blocks yesterday all being rejected.

I suspect there is a problem with the so called soft fork.

Perhaps there is an issue with your configuration.
There is no issue with the softfork, as other miners are mining successfully using satoshi 0.16.3.1.
You're welcome to mine on uBlock.it or XpoolX, they are both 0% fee currently (ublock better if located in north america xpoolx better if located near EU)

Post a sample of your config for riecoin.conf and rieMiner.conf omitting any confidential details of course, and maybe someone can help you.

The "gen =" function is not working in riecoin.conf .. is it anyway ??

The miner built into the wallet is not worth using anyway, it's quite slow.

you can use rieMiner for solo mining, or join a pool.

My hash rate is 1:10 of network hash, but i cant get more than 150 RIC per day. Is that normal? I use the last wallet

If you're the user I think you are on ublock, you're on track to earn around 360-450/day.

The RIC/day estimation on most pools is orders of magnitude lower than what you will actually earn.

There's really no accurate way to measure hashrate in Riecoin.

My best advice is to look at share rate to determine you're actual mining power, after mining for a few days, you should be able to determine an average coins/day and it should be much higher than the pool estimations.

uBlock.it has completed a server migration to new hardware. Our apologies for the short downtime we had to endure.
The new platform is much more scalable and will allow for more stable pool operation as well as easier upgrades in the future.

uBlock.it has also incorporated the upgrade to 0.16.3 as part of our migration and is now signaling for CSV/segiwt activation!

If you're a miner and your pool doesn't support the new rule-set, consider switching to a pool that does if you want to see the network upgraded.
happy mining Cool

Ah, I think I found some of your technical issues... My impression is that I don't think transaction size should be any issue for Riecoin since we will most likely never approach scaling issues like upstream. I wasn't aware of any issue with zero-fee transactions and segwit, if a miner wishes to mine them I don't see a reason why that is not allowed (that would be a pool or miner setting, correct?).

Segwit's benefits for Riecoin are beyond scaling though, Script versioning and MAST, Schnorr, others come to mind.

I agree, it's easier to just follow the core code than try and change something like segwit.
The current software defaults to zero fee tx if 6 inputs or less, this will change after everyone is upgraded and there will be no zero-fee default.

I'm fine with this, miners can choose to mine 0 fee tx if they want. My beef with segiwt was supposing we keep 0 fee tx, it would make no sense to allow 0 fee segwit tx as they require more space but this is a moot point as it is up to the miners which tx to include (as it should be)

uBlock.it will upgrade it's nodes to this RC as soon as possible.
My only worry is that "All Others" miner goes along with the upgrade as well, since they do not publicly discuss anything we'll have to keep a close eye on if/when they signal support.

We need to set an activation time for some of these BIP's, that appears to be the only thing causing delay on the node upgrade.
Personally I don't care if we activate any of them.

Only BIP that may be worth activating is BIP 65 for CLTV, but I still don't understand how that's better than nLockTime. If it's required for certain DEX then I will support it.
Currently I see no reason to activate segwit though.

I recently compiled Gapcoin but have some issues syncing. Node was stuck on block from 2014, i have restarted sync only connecting to one node to see if that works. Unfortunately syncing to only one node will be very slow . . .

Anything I'm missing, or is there a download available of the blockchain to speed things up?

Edit: looks like it passed the problem block.

Based on what i'm reading it seems the community doesn't want a pool. It would appear to me that having some reliable pools could definitely help increase difficulty.
I may consider adding one if there is sufficient interest.

Ziiip why do you think segwit is not good for the coin ? It will not hurt to have it like functionality even to not use it or activating it right now ?
The idea with never ending riecoin is cool and I am 100% agree. The unique of riecoin is its algorithm and I think we must not put limits on this. My c++ skills are not good too but I will help you in that.

The future of the coin right now depend on us. We can have voting on the community board about the direction to where the coin should be developed.

The reasons I think segwit is unnecessary for Riecoin.
1) The blockahin is heavier (transactions require more space)
2) The fee is smaller only for some kind of tx
3) Riecoin traditionally had zero fees for transactions with fewer than 7 inputs(not positive on this number off the top of my head but zero fee is default for small size tx)
4) Since segwit tx get discounted fees by weight and Riecoin still wants 0 fee tx, it only makes sense to change this and make segwit tx more expensive since it requires more space. (this would require change to current Core implementation if segwit is adopted)

Given these points I still see how it's valuable to follow BTC code because it's easiest to merge future updates etc (probably why 99% of altcoins blindly follow it exclusively)
FWIW I really don't care if we continue with following Bitcoin Core at the end of the day these issues are very minor since the chain is not likely to see high use such as the bitcoin chain.

I personally like what Bitcoin Unlimited is doing, primarily with graphene and other improvements to help block propagation, further reduce orphan rates. But I'm not married to that solution, just decided to play around with the idea.

Hopefully that answers your question. I don't intend to have a huge debate about it, but I think the fee situation should at least be given special attention, unless of course everyone is fine with ditching 0 fee tx.

Or maybe other miners can start mining using a 0.16.3 wallet, I am the only one for now!

uBlock.it will upgrade to 0.16.3 as soon as it's approved by gatra and is available on the official github. I have started testing it and may mine a few blocks on main net but the pool will remain on 10.2 for the time being.

Imo I wish we would have ditched segwit. It's completely unnecessary for Riecoin. But we're already almost complete with 16.3 so it is what it is.

For fun, I am working on a Bitcoin Unlimited fork of riecoin with no segwit, it will take some time as i'm not very experienced with c++  so don't expect release anytime soon (or ever) but if you see it on the testnet you'll know. we'll see how it goes.  Cheesy

So are you guys running with ,inasne # of threads or only one thread per CPU??

It's best to align instances and threads to each NUMA node from my experience.

Might pick up some RIC, was de-listed from Poloniex and several people panic sold down to 50 sats. New software developments are happening with new core release soon. Also some other community members will likely list this coin somewhere with more liquidity in the near future.

It's currently traded on https://zapple.com/ which unfortunately is not on coinmarketcap at the moment.

Coin is very under the radar, it's worth a gamble imo.

Just a heads up, uBlock.it is not gone.

We are having issues with our .IT domain and they should be resolved "in a few days" (according to the registrar)

Because we don't want these types of issues moving forward we will soon move to http://ric.blockocean.com/

Users can still mine by pointing to mine.blockocean.com:5000
Sorry for the inconvenience
