with the rise of gambling these days, more and more celebrities and influencers are found to be promoting gambling platforms sometimes on television or sometimes on their social media platforms
well this one streamer is not an exception...
See newsThe KSA’s investigation began after reports surfaced of LeftlanePapi, whose real name is Djade Sadloe, livestreaming and promoting gambling activities on platforms not licensed in the Netherlands, such as Skyhills.com.
The influencer’s YouTube channel, with over 53,000 subscribers, featured videos that not only showcased live gambling but also included direct links and invitations for viewers to participate, as well as access to a Dutch-language Discord channel for additional support.
As a result of non-compliance, the KSA imposed a penalty order requiring the immediate cessation of all illegal promotional activities.
The order stipulates a fine of €25,000 (£21,519) per violation, up to a maximum of €75,000 (£64,559.62). If the influencer fails to comply, the regulator will also approach the social media platform directly to ensure the removal of harmful content.
this should be an example for influencers and celebrities to always check the kinds of things they are paid to endorse if they do not want to get in trouble
if you are an influencer, would you promote gambling on your page?
This is rather an odd question to ask, anybody would promote anything which is inline with what he or she created the a social media channel for..
Like if I was an influencer and very interested in gambling myself, then why not? I would promote gambling and casinos on my page so long as they pay me for it, the right question should be, are we going to accept offers even from unregistered casinos?
And to answer the question, I would say that it depends on the country where the influencer lives, like If I myself was an influencer and live here in my country, I don't mind accepting marketing offers from unregistered casinos because the government of this country careless about things like this, so long as the casino is not a scam, they can be marketed.
This is not to encourage any one to get into what is bad anyway.
