Its all out for delivery, so we should have here in a few hours.
WHOOP WHOOP! Totally psyched!

Yes very exciting in deed.  Personally I can't wait to get my now useless miners that will ROI exactly never.  It's even more exciting as I asked several times via email and in person (met Dan at the BTC Expo in Toronto) over the last few months for a refund.  Not a single email to support was returned and although Dan did communicate with me via email after the Expo and indicated he would personally make sure my refund was taken care of I was never contacted).  I was told by Dan someone from Minersource team would contact me and assured me a refund would take place.  I have not received contact from MS and was never refunded.  While chatting with nicely with Dan at the TO Expo I told him I paid in BTC.  His response was that they could not refund in BTC but would have to do a USD refund, which I was OK with

I ordered 4 X-1's in late Nov or early Dec 2013, started asking for a refund as soon as they announced missing the late Feb delivery date.

Over all I would have to say I'm a disappointed customer of Miner Source, I do understand they don't control the manufacturing process but I had a sales contract with Miner Source to deliver a retail product I don't have a sales contract with BA.  I have been patient, polite and reasonable mostly because 4 X-1's isn't worth me getting all bent out of shape over.

Lesson learned on my part for sure, I will simply wait for the now essentially useless unwanted hardware at this point.

I am out of the mining race to the bottom for now.  I will continue to hold (and hopefully buy up some more) coins.  I would like to mine but centralized large scale mining seems to be the way of the future, if big business is here, little Joe's like me are better off not playing.  I hope I'm wrong and if I am I will happily mine again.

I ordered a rig and paid for it with BTC late Nov.  Was supposed to be Jan week 5 delivery.  I got sick of waiting and do not see Bitmine as able to give a realistic date when rig production will start.

I was/am queue position 13X in the rig line and I am done waiting.  Filled out the request form and sent it via email on the 26th, received the auto reply from their support.

If I receive my refund plus the 10% promised I will only be a little pissed off at them instead of furious...   I have been nothing but polite and professional and I think understanding about the delays but at this point it's just too much.  I can't understand how a company treats customers like this and expects them to come back as repeat customers in the future.

@Bitmine BTC is a long game and your short sighted thinking is doing harm to your reputation by the day.  Good luck, I just wish for my BTC to be refund so I can put this epic failure behind me for good.

ok, thanks, i realized that i would have to do pool mining, and apparently there are still people making some decent money mining at home on other currencies? i just thought id ask here just incase someone could point me towards the best way. i was told today that with a 3000 dollar rig at home you would be making 21 bucks a day

Remember that is a best case scenario at current difficulty.  As diff goes up the amount of coins that machine will generate will go down.  Margins are pretty tight at best on most coins but don't ever mine BTC with GPU's unless you like loosing money.

Supply and demand, it's pretty simple actually.  Until those two conditions equal out a little more you really only have a couple of choices when it comes to mining.  You can ride the bull and hope like hell you don't get hurt or sit in the stands and watch the excitement.

Edit: Noise level. It's pretty quiet. The camera/mic was two feet from the machine in the video. The fan runs constantly, but it's unobtrusive. I don't even notice it most of the time. I'd guess 5-6 db above ambient. That is a guess, I can't measure it.

As trivial as the actual db rating is, if you have or know someone with a smart phone there are a bunch of free apps that will measure the sound level.

USB info for 60 Camera Photogrammetry rig
by

Hi guys, so I have a bit of a technical question and I thought to myself where is there a lot of people that a VERY computer/network savy and can come up with unique/custom solutions and bam I thought of all our smart mining brothers.  Seeing as this isn't about mining or BTC at all really I figured this was about the only place I could post this without being lol, off topic!

I am in the process of setting up a 60 camera Photogrammetry rig for my new business.  All of my camera's have a USB port on them so they can be connected to a PC so we can retrieve the RAW data from them.  Cams are mounted on Tripods around my studio and I need to find a way to connect all 60 cams back to  my PC via USB otherwise I have to pull all 60 sd cards and pull the data off them that way (which obviously will be a huge pita and extremely time consuming).

Basically I have 10 tripods with 6 cams per pod so I was thinking of mounting a 6 or 8 port USB hub on each pod, but how the hell do I get that hub cable back to my PC.  The furtherest pod is around 40' from my PC (cable length, considering I would have to go up to the ceiling and over and back down to the PC as I can't have cables on the floor because of trip hazard for the clients).

As a start up we have spent a lot of our budget already on just the cams, mounts, tripods etc so cost is a pretty big consideration.

Any help you guys can offer is greatly appreciated.

How it would be possible as they don't even have ready chips yet?!
1 mistake/something doesnt go to plan = an additional 10 week delay. Chip manufacturing is sequential, any problem -> go back to step 1.
People are so understanding when it comes to Black Arrow, but when BFL does it the scream bloody murder and dig out the pitchforks. Sounds about right.

I'm NOT understanding............I asked for & got my refund................BIG difference  Cheesy

BFL,NO REFUNDS  Wink

How did you get the refund?  I sent Miner Source an email and also PM to bobsag3.  Neither method of communication was returned.  I would like a refund for my order of 4 X1's.

You are aware that he actually has given refunds?

Anyone who wants a refund needs to contact BA or minersource through submitting a ticket.

I personally asked for a refund via email to miner source (where I ordered them from) and also sent bobsag3 a PM here.  I did not see an option to open a ticket in miner source website.  Neither my email nor my PM have been returned.

I also noticed a couple of other posters asking for a comment on refunds and they were ignored or told no comment by bobsag3.

They may have given refunds in the past but at least for me I have not had any luck getting my order for 4 X1's cancelled and refunded.

So there has been no revision to the 25% for 4 months offer?

Not at this time. Our meetings were more preliminary than anything, we will have more in the next few days.

And what about refunds Huh

No official statement from me about this Sad

Do you have any idea when you might be able to say something officially about refund options?  I mean at this point a customer has to assume that a refund is not possible.  So your OK with holding peoples monies indefinitely?  Why should anyone believe they will make the new deadline, the old one was rock solid, lots of room built in for error, then they held the info of the delay to themselves longer than they should have.  What exactly has this company done that is public facing to provide any confidence that something like this won't happen again.

Do you care to comment on the fact that according to the FTC as an American based company Miner Source is required to refund a customer if they wish to cancel their order before you ship no matter what your ToS says.

No, I wont comment on such matters in public, if you would like to bring up a specific problem or request with an order, please email either Black Arrow support, or Miner source support.

I actually tried to do this but I have not had a response from MS  Cry.

So, is cancelling and getting a refund from Minersource at all possible?

Not sure, but I did notice this question asked already, only to be completely ignored.  I also sent an email to miner source asking that exact question and have not heard back as of yet.  I have 4 X-1's on order and would like to cancel and get a refund as this delay is pretty extreme and by my calcs it makes break even a pipe dream at best.

Username: 3DX4D
Payment Date: 14-Dec-2013
Currency: BTC
Machine Type: Prospero X-1
Quantity: 4
Country: CAN
Vendor: Minersource.net

If batch 1 is still open I may order another 4-5 today or tomorrow for shits and giggles.

Batch 1 refers to blackarrowsoftware.com, not minersource.net.

Isn't MS getting them directly from BA.  Both sites are listing 02/24/13 as the ship date.  I also thought that this was the fist batch for BA so aren't I basically in batch 1, maybe a few days behind as they come from BA to MS then to me but still basically in the first batch?

to much costs for nothing

Will it pay for itself or make me any money, no of course not, but I didn't buy it for either of those.  I also didn't buy it to make my rig.  I had the printer a while ago, when I relocated my rig I decided to fool around and do something myself.  It's a very fun hobby and I get a lot of personal entertainment designing and making things myself.  I have made a lot of things (for friends and family as well) that are just plain neat LOL.  I have spent much much more on hobbies in the past, $1700 in the long run is an insignificant amount of money for my entertainment, so I have absolutely no delusions or beefs with paying what I paid.

Too much and nothing are subjective in this case, not fact.

3d printers are so expenssive

So where ink jet printers a few years ago.  They will keep coming down in price.

How much the 3d printer cost and how much cost the material for making one of the 3/4" "corner" pieces shown on the image?

BTW the white corner has nice Bitcoin logo...

The printer cost me about $1700 CAD, there is probably less than $0.20 CAD in plastic per piece, at med resolution it takes about 40 minutes to print.  The black and white ones on that rig are 3/4" and made from ABS. I also made a handful of ~1/2" ones for 1/2" aluminium square tube as well.  Structurally I am pretty sure 1/2" would do a 3 or 4 card rig but I happened to have some 3/4 kickin around so I used it instead of buying new 1/2.  I did blue PLA, white and black ABS if I have time I'll post a few pics of the pieces by themselves without the aluminium.
