The GUI wallet does not show "historical transactions".
Account balances will be fine however. Any transactions that happened when the GUI wallet was not running will be skipped until we add API in the backend to support historical transaction gets.
This is an ethereum API problem. They don't have any way to request transactions for a set of accounts only. If things go too slow I'll use a server to get that info for now.

there are some GUI glitches, like Transaction windows show as wallet open for hours after a transaction, but its closed @ accounts as it should be
And if I switch from files from one wallet to 2nd one, then it show like it should be (locked)
also I had one wallet crash @windows after successful transfer, first was failed due no enought funds for fee... but have not saved the error msg

Yes the transaction "combobox" doesn't update atm It's a known bug to be fixed by next release, it also needs backend update tho.
Ethereum never had an API to tell if an account is still locked. I added it to shift but it needs a bit more testing.
The crash I'd like to see some info on tho. Do I get it right that you first had too low gas error and then it crashed after you tried again? What OS version and bits (32/64) ?

This is absolutely NOT user friendly wallet.
Tried to send from GUI wallet, asking password, pressing Send, nothing happens.

Are you sure you unlocked the account with the GUI wallet before sending? It should display an error if it's still locked. If you keep getting trouble try taking pictures of the steps and send them to me as PM and I'll see if I can reproduce. If it's genuine you'll get some SHIFT rewards

Minor GUI wallet bug found. Wallet crashes when i'm typing "," instead of "." in "value" field. For example 12,34 instead of 12.34

Thanks. This is a locale bug I think. The value field shouldn't accept "," but I had a hard time getting it to not "localize" itself.

I want to address this question. It is true, there are some string replacements (or rebranding is we call it). The most of it is actually not done. The hard part was to understand how this all was tied together. I can assure you, the amount spent in the source code is more than just a, sed -i 's/eth/shf/g' thing. This is not bitcoin anymore, this is new thinking. Totally different, and you must understand it else you can not do any develop.
The wallet is in house coded by Almindor, a great dev, you can google Ale Katona. You will soon start see development when we have catched up with all that happened. This is have been a hobby project all from the start.
We do not expect anything. We continue because we like the challange and its fun

The issue with difficulty increasing in infinity is solved. Ethereum have also patched this. Their (Ethereum) bug caused me to totally freak out.. spent many hours on this and solved it before them. A special thx to a guy in PM, you will of course be rewarded for this.

If people do not upgrade we will have an increasing difficulty in infinity, you will only loose money in hashing power. All the core bootstrap nodes are already updated.

Our main dev has been up all night and we found this bug shortly before it got fixed on ethereum itself. We've actually identified the source of the problem but due to lack of manpower were unable to get it out sooner.

ShiftWallet version 0.9.2 has been released. Get the binaries at github and don't forget you need to left click the file link and go to the raw button to download the actual file.
Fixes icon and currency name issues. I'm now going to work on adding built-in support for running shift in the background from the GUI (not mining yet tho) and potentially multi-signature accounts using dapps.

Those who are using just their own pcs that might have 2 gpus and want to use one of them --opencl-device does the trick. on the miner!

You have to create an account before solo mining.
yea i created the account but on the gui wallet it shows locked, does it matter when solo mining ?
Doesn't matter. Unlocking is only needed for outgoing operations.

Thanks. Etherchain.org is not a good source tho, they round wrong. I'd rather have etherscan.io.

This is very odd. I'm the developer of the GUI ShiftWallet, so I can't say directly what the problem is. I'm also on a mac atm. When I get home I'll try and have a look if I get the same error in win8.
Hey I got it working and am mining right now. Somehow when I downloaded the binaries they were not complete. The file size was only 40k instead of the 22mb. Don't know how that happened but it's ok now. Thanks

The wallet ico in win7 superbar is a green E. Should also be changed.
Yes. Release 0.9.2 is around the corner with new icon, minor fixes (e.g. account amount in combobox in transaction tab doesn't update).
NOTE: transaction history is not yet supported in the IPC API of the shift client itslef. This is something missing also from ethereum and we need to add it if we want to see old transactions not done via the GUI client (unless you resync with the GUI on).

For command line without the gui you need to do either shift console directly or run shift itself and in another window run shift attach (better coz you don't get the status updates going in). Then you do eth.getBalance(eth.coinbase)
Note this is for the 1st account. You can also do eth.accounts[n] where n is your "n+1 th" account. This way you can do eth.getBalance(eth.accounts[1]) to get the "2nd" account balance etc. NOTE: the balance is in the lowest denominator so it'll seem huge.

Looks like I'm late with my hashrate and without pool. So I quit.
There was no getting in early with this. The difficulty started high. If there are 200 GPUs mining this then you should get 1 out of every 200 blocks. I hope for a pool soon. It would make this more fair.
The mining reward doesn't halve so this is still early. We need a pool ASAP though.

A pool is planned but it's not that easy. In order to be transparent the pool must provide analytics that will keep everyone happy. Things like "why did I get so little/much SHF from this block".

The --shiftbase shouldn't be required as shift should use the 1st account you have created as the default, but yeah if you want to be 100% sure it's best this way. I'll add this to the wiki.
