Hi I've submitted 2 support emails a few days ago, still haven't gotten a response. $2000 from dwolla --> MtGox hasn't gotten there yet. Email: joeykrug@gmail.com

That is probably because their max is $500 for legal reasons.  Good luck I am sure it will get held up for a while. I am not sure why they let people enter amounts greater than $500 when that is there limit and they know it wont go thru.  You think they would not want to add to the amount of customer issues Huh?

I am simply writing this to give my honest overall opinion of Bitinstant and to give you guys an idea of what you are in store for.  I have been using Bitinstant for a long time and I never even had to create an account on here except until a few months ago.  And I feel that this increase in business is a horrible excuse for what is happening. If you cant handle your company shut down your site, fix all orders 100% and then only take what you can handle.  They even said that it takes days for them to receive payment so it is blatantly obvious that these guys do not have the money on hand to operate so they are waiting for you new guys to place orders to pay for the old ones.  Its not how you do business and I do not see how they are even operating.  These guys are making a killing off of shorting everybody and if they tell you they match the BTC price that is a lie.  For you to get that honored not only do you have to wait till your transaction finally gets processed you then have to catch their mistake and message some one on here and hope that you get the difference.  The 2 times that this happened I got the 1 BTC I was owed for the difference in price and the second time was after waiting 2 weeks it was closer to a 2 BTC difference which I never received and was told I would get after messaging numerous people but I did not even bother following up any more with it since I was so pissed off with them and just happy that I received most of my transaction and this was a few months ago so the price was not as high as it was today.  Obviously only a small percent of people will do that and that still does not even guarantee you your money so 90% of the time they are keeping what you deserve.  Do not spend money with them unless you can afford to have your funds tied up for weeks at a time and you do not mind receiving the absolute worst customer service you will experience in your life.  I have personally dealt with the CEO Charlie/Yankee and i am not sure if he was having a bad day but he was a complete douche and seems like most of his responses to people on here are not very helpful.  I am only on here to tell people my experience and let them judge if they feel like risking it.  I feel a little better now lol.

I finally learned my lesson and used bitfllor inplace of bitinstant. Granted i have had only 2 screw ups via bit instant but after reading all these complaints i decided to not risk it. it was a drive to a bank of america but other then that it was super smooth.

Yea there prices might be a little higher and the BTC price is normally a little higher too but I have been using them for the last 2 months since Bitinstant has pissed me off numerous times and as long as your near a Bank Of America the process is even easier than Bitinstant except that I always get my funds and do not get lied to and have my funds held for 2 weeks.

Its been well over a week and my money is lost in limbo, please help!

Moneygramed to zipzap to bitinstant purchase never made it to Mt Gox. I maxed the purchase at $500 and it has been in limbo for over a week with no responses to my emails. OrderID: 7f3d1931-c206-4c33-af06-0985c0a506f1 QuoteID: 2f15e57f-6aeb-4c56-b9fa-c63b52b21529

I received an email reply instantly sayng the order has been executed, why?  Here it is:

"Hey there,

This is to notify you that your order has been updated, please find the details below:

We have made a direct deposit into your MTGox account and there is no need to use the coupon system on this order

That APIResponse is your coupon code.  Chances are somebody already swiped it since you have it up here or it could be invalid anyway since that happens a lot.

Just wanted to follow up to say that it took getting pissed publicly on Reddit to get some action, but BitInstant's CEO, Chris, did finally, personally drive my 3 BTC over in his virtual armored car to btc-e.com and put them in my account.

To new readers of this thread I would not recommend doing business with BI until we see a follow-up statement on bitinstant.com about this week's snafu and how they have learned from it. Not some shit buried away in a reddit thread or in this forum, but an actual postmortem and steps they are taking to address it.  I commend these guys for handling an insane customer service load and probably getting very little sleep, but when you are dealing with people's money, and the word "instant" appears in your value proposition, you can't put users through this.

Thanks Charlie and Ursay. I appreciate your resolving the issue and adding the $ delta lost in the time I had to wait. That was a respectable gesture.

This week.  This has been just like this for the last 2 months lol.  I keep checking on here to hope to see that things got better so I can do business with them again.

Just double checked. All the info i input was correct. The money was sent to a mtgox account instead of bitstamp. This is a very urgent issue and i am positive time is of the essence. My money was given to someone else.

you better get a hold of mtgox and tell them to freeze that transaction asap.  If that money hits the wrong account your shit out of luck.

LOL...  all this after their website is fixed and upgraded and supposed to be stronger than ever.  I think I will stick with Bitfloor permanently which sucks because I can only use them during banker hours and I really used to like Bitinstant and the features that they offered but sometimes customer service and peace of mind is all that more important.  This is the last time i am checking this thread for a while.  I've seen this company basically be non operational for a month since I had a problem with Bitinstant and I have continually checked this forum to see if Bitinstant is operational but they still are not and I am tired of waiting so I am done using their service.  I am still baffled as to why they would keep their site up while they are having so many problems but I am done trying to figure out how this company works.  Peace

I see that the Bitcoin address option is back up on your site.  Does that mean if I do a transaction with you guys today it will go through.

Ever since Bitinstant turned to shit I have been using Bitfloor and as long as your near a Bank Of America it is overall a very easy experience and I had my coins within in a few hours and I am pretty sure the fees were less.  Just letting you guys know as I had used Bitinstant for a long time but I do not consider them a viable option anymore.

I am right there with you guys.  I made my cash desposit via bitinstant/zipzap THREE WEEKS AGO today, and still have not been updated on where my missing money is, despite my multiple PM's and e-mails.  I really hope I get a response soon.  I know they helped a lot of other people already, so I'm hoping they will fix this and I didn't lose my money.

you better make sure you get quoted at an updated bitcoin price when you get you coins.  They have gone up about 10 bucks a coin in 3 weeks lol.  It was at $35.00 last night and I wake up and they are at $40.00.

Hi everyone

The site is down right now as you are aware, we'll be issuing a more formal statement soon explaining some of the recent issues but in the meantime if you have an outstanding order that has not executed or if you urgently need to make a transfer then please PM myself and Rachel here on the forums.

For transfers, we will need to decide on a case by case basis whether we can handle them.

crazyfunmolly79 - please don't advertise competitors on this thread - we're working on the current issues and will not be remaining down.

I thought there were no competitors. I am pretty sure that Yankee said this site was for all of the Bitcoin seller sites and that you guys would rather "Share a piece of the pie and help each other out rather than fight over a few slices".

Hey Guys.... I used bitfloor on Monday (since the rest of my money was still tied up with bitinstant).  I have to say, it was GREAT!  As long as you are near a Bank of America (BoA), and can get there during business hours.  I deposited cash at BoA, and the money was in my bitfloor account within the hour.  You can INSTANTLY buy bitcoins, and transfer them to your wallet address... took about 2.5 hours TOTAL from going into BoA with my cash, until the time my bitcoins were usable in my final wallet address.  It was my 1st time doing it this way (since I usually do a cash deposit to bitcoin wallet via bitinstant) - but I have to say... it was REALLY easy & fast.  It will probably be my new method if bitinstant stays down.  Hope this helps!

Thanks man I will try Bitfloor out today and update you guys later on how it went.  I have been hearing a lot of good things about Bitfloor lately.  Just to clarify I always have used Bitinstant and still plan on it but people do need an alternative while you guys figure out what ever it is thats going on.

Ive sent several emails back and forth with rachel today about this. She says reserves are low, and users transfers are getting "Stuck
". Until reserve are back up and there is funds there, she cant do anything and the site will remain down. Also Said shed manually transfer my funds once the reserve was back up. How long does this take? Anyone have experience with this? I really cant afford to have my funds sitting there for weeks on end.. When I checked reserves at bitstamp it says $961.00. Since doing the cash deposit with bitinstant, to bitstamp this morning, theyve taken off the deposit to bitstamp function, and theyre site is now down. They also told me this morning that the cash deposit to bitcoin address function would be back up this evening, but Im not sure if thats safe to use either, and how many ppl are going to have their funds "stuck" using that feature? Do I try that this evening, risk having almost $1,000 Tied up in cyber space, until they clear up their issues, or do I just wait to see what happens?

Honestly there reserves have been low for like a month.  Last time I used their service a few weeks ago and it took them 1 week to resolve the issue with barely any customer service.  I can confidently say that you will get your Bitcoins and your not getting ripped off but who knows how long it will take.  I would try a different service.  I am in the same boat as you I need some more Bitcoins today and I am not sure which other company I want to try out since Bitinstant is basically non operational at the moment.

It is pretty frustrating seeing all these post over and over again that are basically the same problem.  If your website is not operation at the moment you should take it down and quit causing so many issues for so many people and it would allow you guys time to get the unresolved orders cleaned up and finished with.  I need to drop a few hundred bucks today on some Bitcoins today.  What would you guys recommend for an alternative while I wait for this disaster to get cleaned up.  I was looking at Bitfloor and their turnaround seems alright and I hear they actually have customer service.

BitInstant (BI) has been under scrutiny for several months. I'm really surprised that they just recently stopped offering the option for cash deposit (MoneyGram) to your BTC address. It happened once before, but then it was up a little over a week later.

***Will someone please respond to the following question:
   - Should I just not us mt.gox? It sounds like they are the ones who are screwing around. Or is it actually  Bitinstant causing all the delays?

I had great post typed out, far more info, well written and it answered a few questions for fellow posters. I sat here for an hour typing it and fixing every tiny error. I obviously had become signed out at that point but didn't realize it before I hit "Post". Lost it all  Cry

Anyway, I guess we're all newbs if we are posting here. Looking forward to further discussions in future about 2 of my favorite things in the world: Silk Road and BTCs!

P.S. Jackd523 everyone relies on BitInsant, which sucks, because they are the only one I know and you're FORCED to use them. I just noticed yesterday they now only offer 5 options in the "Pay to" drop-down menu (Dwolla, PayPal, BitStamp, VirWox, and VouchX).

Theres a ton of other options besides Bitinstant.  Its just that Bitinstant was the fastest, easiest, and most reliable up until about a month ago.  I think all this has to do with Bitcoins being at almost $35.00 a coin.  I am sure everyone is waiting to see if the market crashes again because I am sure no company wants to be stuck with a shit ton of Bitcoins if the value drops to $2.00 again.

Yea ever since Bitcoins hit about $30.00 I have seen the reserves staying pretty low lol
