And I usually see that as what scammers are using as an advantage of scamming many people that fail to secure their wallets, probably because when they have access to your wallet, they will steal everything, and you can't track them. So I think that if they can get what will make you locate your coins when they have been stolen by scammers, that will reduce scammers in the crypto space.

So my question is, will there ever get a technology that you can recover your bitcoin from when you have been scammed. In my opinion, it can help many people that lost their bitcoin for the long term and appreciate the value more than before.
This can never happen, so quit day dreaming for thinking about this is equal to day dreaming, there can never be a day when we can be able to recover bitcoins that we can lost to scammers so long as the bitcoin left our wallet and the transaction is confirmed to be successful on the blockchain network.

Think about this for a sec, if a technology comes up that makes it possible to recover the bitcoin we lost to scammers some or several years ago back, people wlll use same technology to get back the bitcoins they legitimately spent on goods and services, now people won't just be getting back the bitcoins that was stolen from them, but they also will be getting back the bitcoin they spent to buy things, how about the bitcoins you sent to the exchanges, you can use the technology to get them back and claim the exchange scammed you 😂😂..

So, there can never be any such technology anywhere and any time that would help people get back bitcoins that have left their wallet successfully whether it left as a result of getting scammed or not, so better secure 🔐 your wallet as hard as possible and ensure you never get scammed.

Well here are some exchanges that still offer p2p in Nigeria that I was able to find out.
Quidax
Bitget
Bybit
Remitano
If there's anyone that isn't on the list please tell me I'll add..
I don't know if this is helpful to many people here but respectively we have particular CEX we've been using since Binance stopped P2P as a result of what is going on between Nigerian government and them. All this CEX mentioned all requires your personal informations through KYC verification. This procedures gives your data to the platform where who knows can be compromised, advice is that you don't need too many CEX, since we already have what we use, there is no need of registering for another, learn to maintain privacy.
You said alot of things without actually saying the main important thing, you said using CEX for our p2p trading require us giving away our personal data which we don't know when such data could get compromised, and I was thinking you were going to give us a better option of a p2p trading platform that requires no kyc verification but you didn't, or maybe I misread your message at some point and misunderstood.

Anyways, bybit have always been my best option when it come to p2p trading, I sometime ago used remitano, but I didn't like the experience there, their app is sometimes too slow on finding a buyer, I don't know if I am the only one who experienced such.

Also, i think say if them send you PM make dem still put am a thread wey people go see. That one na still kind of evidence say this person collect money. You see at the other guy take dey do him own.

I also have this same issue, I was a junior member rank before I took a break from this forum due to some personal issues that won't allow me time to participate in discussion here.

Came back a few days ago to see I've been dropped back to newbie, I was skeptical initially but later on assumed it was due to my inactivity, was coming here to post a complaint but saw this thread already, and I am happy to learn that the drop in rank is due to lack of the required number or activity to climb and maintain the junior member rank, I will try to be more active henceforth to ensure this does not happen to me again.

I've been using this platform for a while, and honestly, I've wasted a lot of SOL. Although I've stopped, I still see some PumpDotFun coins trending on DEXTools with more than $1M market cap which mostly starts from $30k or $20k marketcap depending on the DEV holdings. I've always thought the idea of a good memecoin from PumpDotFun was seeing the coin having a good website and active community, but now I realize it's just luck and timing. It's probably about knowing the right time when a celebrity is about to launch their token.
Does anyone have better idea on how to identify reliable tokens or avoid rug pull tokens on pumpdotfun?
I have no prior experience of this platform but what I can tell you is to avoid it, I myself showed interest in starting my meme coin investment from the grassroot, which is to begin from platforms like pump.fun, but some one with a good experience there adviced me to not try it, he told me to completely avoid pump.fun, that it is a play ground for the rich, that I should only invest in memecoins that are already listed on two or more reliable exchanges.

He told me it's always a good thing to invest a good meme coin as early as it is launched on pump.fun, but then, that the chances of success from this platform is as bad as zero.

As much as you are right, do not forget that alts have complimented and still compliments bitcoin, and have help in shaping the crypto industry to the success it has achieved today.

Without alts, you think any of us coming into crypto newly will be able to afford even a transaction fee on the bitcoin network? (minus those who are already millionaires before coming into crypto), you have to understand that Bitcoin network lack scalability and any little thing, the network will become congested leading to really high transaction fees, now, imagine there were no alts, and that the hundreds of millions of people in crypto today are all buying and selling bitcoin only,
1. Imagine how congested the network will be.
2. Imagine how high transaction fees will be.
3. Imagine how long you would have to wait for a transaction confirmation even after paying thousands of dollars in fees.

Altcoins aren't shit, they are just more risky to invest in, and know it well that your level of risk appetite is not the same as everyone else's, some people simply love taking more risk for more potential reward.
And some people invest in alts as a way to diversify after having invested a lot in bitcoin.

So, don't see every one investing in Alts and memecoins as being stupid or foolish, we all have our different investment strategies, and there are different ways to make money, we mustn't all follow the same way and pattern.

I am not very much of a trader, I have paid more attention to investing but unfortunately, with the way the market having been behaving for several weeks now, it have become really difficult to make any meaningful gains in short term investment.
So I've began looking the way of day trading as an alternative to continue to stay active in the cryptocurrency market.

I am simply going through the comments and learning as much as I can, hopefully, I gain a good knowledge to make the day trading journey profitable for me when I begin..

Re: Telegram betting agent - best odds on market

Snip

Well, I think there is definitely a way they can get back to their patronizers if Para adventure, their telegram account got deleted - which rarely happens though.
And that way is that for them to save the contact information of all their customers so that if for what ever reason, their account got deleted and the number used to sign up got banned for life, they can use another number to sign up/join telegram back, and use the backup contant of their patronizers stored on their device to reach to their customers again.

So what if those guys are scammers with the aim to only collect people's money and disappear, how will their patronizers get back their money after they have deleted their account? What kind of busy person that will even trust this kind of service that is not registered and doesn't have office any  where apart from telegram. Are you even on the opinion that that stuff is real?
Maybe you should learn to patiently read a comment, understand it fully before posting a useless reply (sorry I called your reply "useless" but that's exactly what it is).

In a post of like for example, 2, 3, 4 or even 5 paragraphs, you can't read just one paragraph ans assume you have gotten the details of that post, and the proceed to posting a reply, this is what many users on this forum tag as a spam.

Go back to my comment you quoted, read everything, understand it properly before you give a reply, and incase you find anything I said confusing, then feel free to ask nicely, don't reply to a post you have not completly read and understood.

Re: Will you put money together with friends to bet on sports games?
by
CryptoGirl_200x
on 05/07/2024, 13:55:35 UTC
What do you guys think, is this concept or idea a good one? Will you accept such request?

It's a good concept if you wish to have extra fun with friends while watching some games, I have done it many times... Usually with small money, each of us chooses a game or two for the parlay. We never won anything with those parlays, we were close so many times for one game or one goal on each side. That's why this is purely for fun, and we never risked a lot... we never gave more than $5 each. We had some wins only when we were betting on just one or two games max, but as I said it was with some small amounts... we had for a few beers and chips, and maybe some little money left for the next bets.

OK, never done such before to be honest, but reading your comment now, I began to imagine myself putting money together with my best friend, and we both decide which team to place our bet on, this indeed is very fun to be honest, but then, it's only for those who have friends that they can really trust, and the friend trust back as well.

But as fun as this can be, do you think it's worth trying this type of betting with total strangers, or people who seem like strangers to you?

Well, If I should still anwer that question, I will say that it's not a good Idea at all to put money together with a person you are not really familiar with, and this is because people can hardly be trusted this days, or what do you think?

😂 Lols, bro, are you serious about Rollbit buying hacked stake users data, simply for the purpose of sending promotional offers to them? That's incredible abs surprising, but most of all, very funny.

But anyways, it's quite understandable to be honest, most especially when we consider how wild the gambling industry is, promoting or advertising casinos is one of the hardest, and this is because not everyone is a gambler, and promoting casinos to non gambling audience can be a total waste of money most of the time, and this is possibly one of the reasons why trusted and reputation casinos always try as much as possible to maintain a good reputation when ever they find their self in the midst of community of gamblers where they can easily run ads, a good example is this forum.

How about you start reading before making a brainless post just to spam?
I never said rollbit hacked stake, I said the BOUGHT hacked player data. This is common knowledge, I got the rollbit email myself with a bonus offer. And I got it to 2 stake accounts with different platinum status -> so I got different bonus amounts.
The internet is full of proof of this so please don't try to talk back to me without knowing ANYTHING.

Why I even reply to a obvious stake forum spammer is beyond me. How about you search reddit and the official stake forum, you will find your "proof". Jesus christ how can someone be like this and just reply/spam to get like 1$.

You must be out of your senses dude, what the f*ck are you even saying, are you high on some weed or alcohol? You must be plainly stupid to regard me as a Stake spammer, what are you if I may ask?

First of all, you seem to lack basic comprehension of what you read, or maybe you didn't even read my comment before posting your trash reply, where did you read me saying that you said Rollbit hacked stake? Go back and read my comment again before making baseless assumptions and useless conclusion.

And Secondly, I see that you lack manners, and also, sentiments and biased judgements seems to have clouded your brains, and your ability to think well, you are a total joke if you think all stake signature ad participants are spammers.
And for your information, don't hesitate to add me to  your ignore list, because you are already one on my list.
I get the machanics of the game now, spammers now call other users spammers, to make their own self appear like the serious ones, understand that I am not your problem, get your acts right and stay off my lane.

Sudden Flash Crash vs Slow Bleed - Which actually kills Investor(s)?
by
CryptoGirl_200x
on 04/01/2024, 20:53:34 UTC
Happy new year everyone, I am very glad that as many of us who made it to this year made it, and hope the new year brings unimaginable blessing our way going forward.. Amen.

Now, I have something I wish to share concerning the sudden crash we experienced yesterday, which saw bitcoin crash to around 40,000+ from $45,000+.

Bitcoin so far have very much recovered, but Now..
  • What do you guys think about that sudden crash?
  • What do you think was playing out?

Do you really think it was all about Matrixport's report saying all bitcoin spot ETFs will be rejected by the SEC? No, not at all, it's all a game plan, a strategy to make us panic short and spot sell our bitcoins.

In crypto, learn not to care much about sudden flash crash, as long as its bitcoin we are talking about, but care more, and be most afraid of slow bleed.. I will explain this below - read on.

Investors responds to flash crash, faster than they respond to slow bleed, flash crash is a tool that is used to instigate fear, panic, causing the chicken hearted to instantly (without hesitation) dump their position(bitcoin).

Flash Crash is a tool also used by market makers to flush out over-leveraged traders, and trader who are longing late.
So after the flash crash, the market mostly recovers in no time or after a very short period of time, and those who sell their spot or short; out of panic always end up as losers.

What we investors, should be mostly afraid of is slow bleed, for this is the silent killer.

Now, this is an analogy that is scientifically proven to be true - "Place a rat in a boiling water and it will jump out immediately, but place it in cold water and be heating the water slowly, the rat will remain in that water until the water gets too hot and kill it."

Humans are reactive to sudden sharp changes in stimulus, but extremely dull and unreactive to things that occur over a long period of time.

When they want us to sell, because it's a good time to buy, they will implore the flash crash strategy, causing several investors to panic sell, thereby, giving them the opportunity to buy cheaper.

By when they want us to hold, so they can silently sell at a good price, they'll typically bleed the market slowly, not alerting us - leaving us with a persistent optimism that "reversal is coming", until will find ourselves in the middle of a bear market, with no possibility of selling without incurring a huge financial loss.

Note that every thing I said here about flash crash and slow bleed is  specifically in relation to bitcoin investments, a flash crash for altcoins may completely mean a different thing, which for example could mean a rugpull, bankruptcy and so on.

So lets learn to note that, things won't be always as they seem, market makers and manipulators will always try to take advantage of the chicken hearted investors, learn to be know when to sell, and buy back cheaper later on, and when to actually hodl, because big things are coming and they want you to sell so they could buy cheaper.

Data Harvesting Inside Ledger Live App - Is this really part of Non-custodial?

Hi guys,
I do not know if this same topic have been brought up here recently, I've search and found none, but if actually there is, please point me to it and I will lock this one.

There have been a lot of controversies surrounding the mode of operations of ledger - one of the top hardware wallet manufacturers, meant to be complete non-custodial, but recently, researchers have discovered data Harvesting Inside the ledger live app.

For whatever reason best known to ledger, and hard to comprehend for users, ledger live app is transmitting information about..
- Clicks
- Page visits
- Redirects
- Crypto transactions
- Page scrolls
- Number of accounts
- Crypto asset names
- Session duration
- Hardware device type
- Firmware version

To ledger's analytics provider known as segment.io.

For those who do not know what ledger live is, like explained HERE[1]- Ledger Live is the official software for interfacing with any Ledger hardware wallet. The vast majority of PC users download this software in order to set up their hardware wallet and sign transactions.

It was while inspecting the ledger live software code that a Twitter user by the handle Rektbuildr[2] discovered that user tracking is built into the entire software.
Use the [1] or [2] links shared above to read more about this.

How exactly are crypto holders who believe in decentralization and privacy still buying ledger?
If this is because most don't know this things, aren't we being robbed by this companies, due to our ignorance?

What is the first Bitcoin block explorer in history?
It is built by theymos. Are you surprised?  Cheesy
I am sure not surprised learning for the second time that the first bitcoin block Explorer was built by theymos, I've read about this outside this forum one time, and that was even how I discovered this forum.

And from the look of the first bitcoin block Explorer as shown in the shot you posted, I do not think a lot changed so far, aside from background and text designs, fonts, more css properties, more functionalities through programming languages used.

Alot of the changes will probably be in the back end, for the front end, it's possibly still the same arrangement with little or minor readjustments here and there.

All the same, kudos to how far technology have brought us.

Re: P2P Dusting Attack And How Not to Become a Victim
by
CryptoGirl_200x
on 12/12/2023, 16:45:49 UTC
Anyone should ignore any dust transactions found in the transaction history without interacting with the transaction details or opening any suspicious and unknown sites that may appear to them. Dust transactions, these small amounts sent to individuals, are an attempt to lure them into phishing sites and malicious websites in the first place. It does not pose a threat, and I see that this attack has become less effective due to increased privacy and security features in many crypto wallets, such as the dust isolation feature. Therefore, everyone should be more cautious and knowledgeable about their actions, researching if they encounter anything suspicious and not hastily connecting their wallet to any phishing domains to which they are directed or attempting to sell scam tokens or NFTs that they see without their knowledge in their wallets.
Being more updated and knowledgeable than scammers will be very useful for avoiding every trap spread by scammers. Dust transactions like that are quite disturbing, because many beginners get trapped and end up losing their assets and having their wallets drained. This will be very dangerous, but there are some wallets that include filters for dust coin transactions so that they cannot be accessed and are included in the spam list.
You are right, one way to defeat scammer and never fall into their hands is by always being one of two steps ahead of them, and to achieve this, we all must always give ourselves to new ideas, new knowledge, new way of doing things and so on, this gives us an edge  over the scammers in the sense that, even before a scammer come up with an idea of how to carry out a scam, we ourselves already know or have an understanding of such an idea.

And concerning wallets with such feature that filters dust coins transactions, I wouldn't mind if you recommend a good one to me. Thank you in advance.

P2P Dusting Attack And How Not to Become a Victim

WHAT IS P2P DUSTING ATTACK?

P2P dusting attack is a cryptocurrency scam where the scammer sends small amount of cryptocurrency to a large amount of people, potential victims actually.
the amount of cryptocurrency they send to their potential victims is usually so small that sometimes, its hard to notice, but the main goal or purpose of the scammer sending this is to try to trick as many that will notice the transaction, into revealing their private keys, or trick them into visiting a malicious website.

WHY ITS IMPORTANT TO AVOID BEING A VICTIM TO P2P DUSTING ATTACK.

The main or major reason why scammers engage in p2p dusting attack is for two reasons..
  • To get their victims to reveal their private key or seed phrase through visiting a clone fake site, which phishes the victim's wallets private information while the victim unsuspectingly tries to connect his or her wallet to the site.
  • To get the victims to visit a malicious website where they can try to trick the victim into clicking links that could download software that is infected with malware into the victims computer.
The two mentioned reason both lead to one purpose, and that is to steal the victims cryptocurrencies, and maybe other valuable information that could be stored on the victims computer that the scammer have infected.

HOW TO AVOID BEING A VICTIM TO P2P DUSTING ATTACK

The first and major way to avoid being a victim to such attack is to completely ignore such transaction when they appear on your wallet, no need even search for where it came from, don't even try sending it back or selling the token on a decentralized exchange, no matter the worth, the attacker might drain your wallet during such process, just allow the token to sit there, and if you are not comfortable having them in your wallet, simply move your main crypto assets to another wallet and abandon that wallet - thank goodness wallet creation is free, you can create as many as you want.

Secondly, avoid visiting site that you are familiar with, but even when you find your self on a site you are not very sure of its reputation, then be very careful with clicking on links or downloading any file from such site.

I came across this information on Binance feed, i found it very educative, and i decided to share it here, I hope we all stay safe out here or there.

This na something wey me self don sometimes reason am say, one of the reason why USA government kind of dey helpless in terms of banning bitcoin na due to the fact say, there are many of her citizens wey don invest heavily for bitcoin, and this no be just ordinary citizens, but people of high calibar, people wey fit move and turn the economy of the country due to their kind of influence.

So for me, i believe say if the big people way we get for naija fit begin investing in bitcoin and making it public like those wey dey US dey do, e fit change the narrative wey our nigerian government get towards bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general.

And to also add, they no need to make the investment personal, they fit use the name of their company invest, the same way wey Elon musk use him Tesla company name invest in bitcoin.

How is everyone doing? So I stumbled upon a very interesting topic where the user was asking about halving in Bitcoin beginners. The response to that question was so interesting so I thought of sharing it here. Because I believe this answer would clear a lot of newbies and some that don't know about what would happen to Bitcoin during or after halving. I really hope this helps so many people

https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinBeginners/comments/173epdp/what_happens_to_the_price_of_bitcoin_during/k42gkfw?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Enjoy!
Bitcoin halving is a very popular event in this industry, and personally, I do not see any need of sharing this here since its already of the most discussed topic, both in and outside this forum, its an event and a season crypto investor looks forward to.

Charles-Tim already touched on the number aspects of the event, so there really no need going into that aspect of it, but the long and short of it is that, Bitcoin halving is an event and a season every crypto believer does and should always look forward to .
