Re: What is your definition of gambling for fun?
by

That’s an interesting way to look at it. I think ‘gambling for fun’ really depends on the person. For some, it’s just casual entertainment—like throwing a few bucks on a game while watching football or spinning a few slots for the excitement. But for others, it’s more than that.

I’m kind of in the middle. I enjoy the thrill, but I also like the challenge of making better decisions, finding good odds, and managing my bankroll smartly. That’s why I prefer platforms that give more than just straight-up gambling—on Galactix, for example, even when I’m betting, I’m also mining GLX tokens, which adds an extra layer of strategy and makes it feel like I’m always getting something back.

I guess the key is knowing when it stops being fun and starts becoming a problem.

Time for play-off stage second leg games. Which game are you most exciting for? Can all favorites go through the next round?
Roma vs. Porto looks the most exciting for me. Can Anderlecht and Galatasaray make a comeback?

Yeah, Roma vs. Porto is probably the most exciting matchup for me too. Porto’s got the experience, but Roma at home is a different beast.

As for Galatasaray, they’ll need a fast start and some serious defensive improvements to have a shot.

Re: Keys to successful gambling

Some solid points here, especially about greed and accumulating bets. A lot of people chase those massive wins, but the reality is, the more games you stack up, the higher the risk of losing. I’ve learned that the hard way.

One thing I’d add is the importance of choosing the right platform too. I’ve been playing on Galactix lately, and what I like about it is that it’s not just about gambling—there are other ways to earn, like mining GLX tokens and getting daily dividends just for holding them. It makes it feel like I’m still progressing even when I’m not betting, which helps me avoid that constant urge to chase losses.

Also, totally agree with not using winnings to gamble again. Cashing out or reinvesting elsewhere is the smartest move. Looking forward to part two

Re: Is it normal for someone that claims he is gambling for fun to become addicted?
by

The title said it already, some people argue that they are just gambling for fun and that they don't gambling because they want to make money from gambling but sometimes people that makes such kinds of statement still get addicted to gambling. Is it normal?
I don't believe in such a kind of statement, but I respect anyone who says that. Perhaps we all have different views and considerations about gambling, but for me and for the majority, that is absolutely for money.

Quote
Base on assumption, I think people that gamble for fun are not supposed to get addicted because they are not putting in all their energy, the only people I expect to get addicted is those that are putting every of their energy so that they can make money all the time, from gambling. What do you guy believe?
Well, despite saying it was for entertainment, a chance of falling into addiction is still there. It was just like drinking alcohol, because the moment we fall into addiction, it is already a sign that we are on the wrong path. A good approach and self-control are necessary at all times, if possible.

Most people are in it for the money, but I do think some genuinely play just for fun. The problem is, even if you start out that way, the thrill of winning can make you want to keep going.

That’s why I like platforms that give more than just the gambling aspect that helps with self-control, at least for me.

At the end of the day, though, I agree—it all comes down to moderation and knowing when to step back.

I think there’s a fine line between gambling for fun and gambling for financial gain. A lot of people start off casually, just placing a bet here and there, but once they experience a few big wins, the thrill kicks in, and it can become something more serious. It’s not always about ‘wanting to make money’—sometimes it’s just about chasing that feeling of winning.

I used to think I was just playing for fun too, but then I found myself betting more often than I originally intended. What really helped me find balance was switching to platforms that offer more engagement beyond just the gambling aspect. Like, on Galactix, for example, there’s a whole system of quests, mining GLX tokens, and earning daily dividends, so it feels like there’s more to do than just placing bets. That kind of variety makes a big difference, at least for me.

But yeah, I do think a lot of people convince themselves they’re gambling ‘just for fun’ when deep down, they’re also hoping to hit it big.

Re: Anonymity in the crypto gambling world. Something to think about...
by

This is a legit concern in crypto gambling. A lot of casinos market themselves as 'anonymous,' but in reality, they still track user activity or require KYC at some point. I think the real question is whether a platform actually respects player privacy or just uses 'anonymity' as a buzzword.

There are still some platforms that actually respect privacy, though. I’ve been playing on Galactix, and so far, it’s been solid in that regard. No KYC for withdrawals, and I don’t feel like I’m being tracked every step of the way.

Curious to hear what others think—do you guys fully trust any platform to keep things private?

Actually blockchain can work for every industry. How about IBM?

IBM thinks blockchains can help reduce carbon emissions

I searched for projects that focuses with it and they are plenty of them, I'm not sure on who are the legit ones.

in my opinion no, other industries that are not within the scope of technology will only be a useless plan if only applying blockchain technology in it without seeing the potential for the future that can bring benefits.

I would not agree with that. Blockchain provides an opportunity to equitably manage the world’s shared natural capital. Decentralization provides new structures for collaboration and technological solutions that allow people to take accountability for assets that are shared among large groups of people.

A project that I am currently following and that I mentioned above, and that is even mentioned in the article you quoted - Veridium, explained this really well on page 11 of their whitepaper. https://veridium.io/static/whitepaper.pdf

Carbon credit market is a billion dollar industry and applying blockchain will be good for both industry.

It might further questionable political agendas and help to grow crypto markets while legitimizing blockchain technology. Aside from that it won't accomplish much.

The reason carbon credits don't work is they fail to address the real factors affecting our climate. Emissions aren't the main concern. The real issue is between 20% and 80% of the world's natural forests being cut down which greatly reduces the earth's capacity to absorb carbon. Trees function as natural carbon sinks, trapping carbon and storing it for many years.

The secondary issue is: drought. Trees absorb water from their roots and evaporate it through their leaves. This evaporated water generates rainfall. Rising occurrence of drought in the world is also linked to deforestation. If you want concrete evidence of this, deforestation of the amazon rainforest in brazil is linked to their drought issues.

The ideal policies to address climate change are: afforestation. Seed bombings. Addressing desertification.

The way policies like carbon credits are issued is also extremely disproportionate. America's business is punished far more severely than business in china, despite chinese business being vastly more polluting and environmentally damaging than american business. In that we could see political angles being revealed in how the establishment chooses to pursue issues relating to climate change.

I agree with you that deforestation is a bigger problem than emissions but money that is used to purchase those carbon credits can be used for planting new trees.

I've seen many projects about this but it seems most of them are lacking on something. Carbon credit market is a billion dollar industry and applying blockchain will be good for both industry.

Many project ICOs doing this and one of that is Zero Carbon Project. Its UK based project with good team. Carbon is world issue and i am believe it will going good project for crypto community

I checked with them yesterday. I saw some sentences on their articles that are a bit questionable. For example, there is one article that says you can buy carbon credits through their market, but when I ask them on Telegram, they said ZCP doesn't sell carbon credits. So I stopped and maybe will just check with them again after few months.

Someone posted here about Veridium. Also a carbon credit marketplace. They sell carbon credits and the credits are verifiable through IHS Markit. Which is a good point.

A lot of good green projects recently. I hope these projects will be successful. It will be very beneficial for both blockchain and carbon trading market.

I also heard about Veridium a couple of months ago when IBM announced a partnership with them. I have been following them ever since and really like the project so far.
First thing that I check on those projects is the team and Veridium`s team is really a strong one.

China closed its ports to plastic waste, now Thailand to do the same. This will make a lot of countries now to tackle the problem at home by cutting the amount of throwaway plastic being produced.

I am really glad we have companies such as IBM backing up that project.
Trading carbon credits on a blockchain will create a more efficient and transparent method for exchanging the valuable certificates tied to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Re: Is it too late to start investing in cryptocurrency now?

It is never too late to invest in crypto. I am not into trading atm, I like to buy and hold. Everyone is predicting a new bull run end of the year.
One of the thing that is keeping ETH so down at the moment are so many ICOs that are failing. They then just sell their million $ worth ETHs and we get a drop again.

That is why I like to invest only in ICOs that have a great chance of success such as Veridium.io. Their token is fully asset-backed and they are partnered with IBM and already reached $5mil soft cap without even starting a pre-sale.
I am waiting for a pre-sale to be announced so I can invest there.

Has anyone noticed Veridium.io? It looks like IBM is backing them up which is promising by itself.
Their token CRB is backed by environmental assets.

Besides the ones mentioned in the OP page, we have other best ICOs which really had best projects reaching the soft cap very quickly. But the sad part is that when they listed on the exchanges, the tokens value was less than the ICO price.

Veridium already reached a soft cap of $5mil before even starting a pre-sale with only 5 investors. As far as I know, they are now trying to work with the appropriate regulatory bodies and allow US to participate in the ICO, that's when they are going to start with the pre-sale, I guess.

All the terms of competition are in the blog of developers on Medium.

What advantages will give u the fact that there’re people from various companies in your team? As for me, i think that this will make u spend time on setting up communication within the community.

If they are all committed to this project as much as needed I do not see a problem.

What's with so many questions on this thread? Isn't telegram channel usually reserved for that?
Do you get the answers via personal message?

you are correct, and whats worst is that with these a lot of questions here, NO ONE ANSWERS. and i have a feeling that these are paid thread bumpers. i am constantly visiting the thread for updates, but havent seen any.

All of the questions are being answered. There are many questions that are repeated many times so there is no point in answering thoes over and over again.

oh lol you guys official team sounds like unfriendly
many questions that are repeated I think that's part of the team's work to serve the all participants

I do not agree with you. It is just a waste of time to respond too same questions over and over again.
People should just go couple of pages back or just search a thread for an answer before asking question.
