Re: I consider bitcoinplus a scam

I just transferred my funds from bitcoin plus. At this point, I consider it a pure scam. You get .00003 btc per share and the owner is still enforcing the .01 transfer fee. Plus you can only send multiples of .01. I'm really stumped as to why people would still be using that site.  Roll Eyes

I initiated a transfer on the 18th and it still hasn't happened.  Emailing didn't help.  I just had a couple of machines running it to mess around so no real loss.  Just a few cents maybe.  Yes it is a scam.  Whether or not it generates a lot of coin is irrelevant if transfers are not honored.

I don't know if the bid wall at MtGox is useful as people can remove their bids before they are used (and because of the private/secret pools that don't show up).

Neither private nor secret.

I love these RALLY! threads.  I'm a bit more reserved but I do enjoy everyone's enthusiasm.

What the hell, I say BTCs will top $1000 by 4pm today!

(and if they do I'll sell every bit I hold)

So post what you think i should do Smiley

Send your coins to the address in my signature.  That's the best thing to do.  You won't get anything in return but the knowledge that they will be well taken care of should be satisfaction enough.

If you don't do that I'd suggest holding what you have and hedging with fiat bucks at an amount comparable to your BTCs.  At a price drop you buy and you sell when it goes up.  Most of the chowder heads in this forum think the price will be going up in the coming days.

But really, sending them to me would be the best use of your BTCs.

Re: Chapter 2 in the life of Bitcoin
by

I voted $13-$15.  There's a lot of talk about a coming event that will cause a price bump by new investors/speculators entering the market following news stories about said event.  Leading up to the event I suspect there will be upward price pressure as speculators stock up in anticipation of the flood of interest.

Op your post is too rational in a such a highly risky and speculative market.  I agree that we are above the true value of BTC based on current supply and lack of demand.  Once the temporary interest of new money entering into the market subsides the price will gradually follow.  For the long term BTCs need to have a usefulness beyond speculative trading.  If merchants don't enter the market before interest wanes we will likely see a rather deep crash.

Personally I would like to see $12+ in the near term so I can offload a few coins at a nice profit.

Re: Yubikey Problem

When I plugged it in, the Yubikey detected as a USB keyboard.

So yes, if you are pressing shift, caps lock etc.. It will mess up.

Yeah, that's how I figured out the problem.  It makes sense that a Yubikey that shows up as a keyboard would be caps sensitive.  Maybe if I would clean off my desk once in a while I wouldn't have stacks of paper flipping my CL button or holding shift.  Anyway, my experience will certainly help others.  I think highly of the Yubikey after using it for a few days.  Can't wait to try it after I forget to take it out of my pocket and send it through the wash.  It's only a matter of time...

Yubikey Problem
by
KMBTC11
on 09/08/2011, 21:08:14 UTC
I received a free Yubikey from MtGox.  It sat on my coffee table for a couple of weeks before I decided to use it today.  I followed the instructions and had no problem logging in.

I logged out and got in right away.  MtGox timed out my session later and I tried again.  It took a couple of tries before it logged in.  Timed out logged in again without problem.  Timed out and logged in with multiple attempts on three attempts throughout the day.

Now it won’t even log me in with multiple attempts.  I’m effectively locked out of my account.

Has anyone experienced similar?

TIA

If everyone stopped selling their bitcoins on gox, th etc.

then the price would go up! (supply + demand bitches)
Oh my god! I just had the same reaction that I had when I first heard Nancy Reagan's suggestion for how deal with the drug problem by just saying "no".

Hmmm.  Not a bad idea.  Just say 'no.'  Brillient !!

Oh, and everyone knows Flava is an investor in gold.  Not BTC.

Yeah I don't think it will get back to $1.  I tihnk there is way too much interest at these lower prices.

Even with miners dropping like flies and realizing now is a good time to cash out?  IDK but if  I had a fat mining wallet and equipment to pay for I'd be tempted to sell now before it dropped any further.

Yeah BTCs may drop to $0.00 but I really don't care.  All of the speculation is white noise to me.  I'm just here to play on the slopes.  Kind of like skiing on ones and zeros.  In the end I fully expect my USD to be gone but the entertainment value is worth the cost of a few bucks.  If I can cash out when it begins to bore me with more than I put in then I'll be surprised and will use the windfall on the next shiny object that catches my eye.

Just save a few bucks for the end and buy back a squllion coins @ $0.01c

Not bad advice but if I wait until they reach $0.00 then I can buy infinity for nothing.  In a strange way this makes sense to me.

Too bad this market is going down. You'll be able to have all the btc in the world... but they'll be worth 0 USD

Also, I bought 800 BTC @ 6.50. =)

Nice indeed.  I picked up fewer at higher (~$7).

If I did win 200 million you could expect the price to soar.I'd even make a post saying buy now I'm about the clear out the ask orders. The only reason I'd do this is make A LOT of people punch a hole in there wall for selling this low.

Ah, I can dream.
I so wish I could do that as well... People are nuts for selling this low, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...

I'm selling low and buying back even lower then selling on up bumps.  My few K USD are taking a hit but my BTCs are increasing.

Is this bad?

6.88 - the hits just keep on coming!   may be down to $2 by tonite!

That would be nice since I have some orders down there.  Unfortunately, I expect the bottom is nigh and a more reserved rise will begin in the next day or two.

I expect BTCs to be trading over 9000 in the near future.  (not really)
