What is weird about this is, this bill does not affect the offline casino or lottery. Roll Eyes
You missed the "term" online in the title of the bill?

This is having a widespread affect in the gambling scene. Casinos will start to comply and block traffic from Indian people eventually because of the bill. I am sure circumvention will come from the consumers side very soon and eventually things will change once that circumvention comes from the provider's side - obviously casinos dont like consumers to lose out on the fun.

Let see how this progresses.
If they are concerned about people gambling and ruining things then why not a complete ban?

Already multiple cases were filed in Supreme Court by these fantasy sports appsand asking to regulate the process instead of complete ban but it can take time until that this will apply and no casino is allowed to operate online.

The Bill imposes a complete ban on online money games. This applies to games of chance, games of skill, and those that combine both. Advertising and promotion of such games is strictly prohibited.

Please refer the complete bill Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025

And yes, it also applies to any form of payment not just for INR, thus affecting any casino, whether it is from India or outside India will be banned and anyone who violates will face a penalty along with jail time so it is better not to use unless it is legally allowed again.

What is weird about this is, this bill does not affect the offline casino or lottery. Roll Eyes

Talking about private schools I just came across a news article few days back and it was about the rising school fees in India.
I was astonished to read that a school in Bengaluru charged 1 lakh per year for a child studying class 1.
This is really surprising because few years back when I was in my college I was just paying around 70k INR for the whole year.
It is also a well reputed college in my city/state.
1Lakh is pretty low, IMO I remember schools had fees like 1.5 lakh for kindergarten itself. Extracurricular activities are mandatory, but the fees are separate, though. Cheesy

Private schools have dominated over the government schools with poor infrastructure, crumbling down buildings and lack of manpower. The education system here has a lot of flaws but I dont see any immediate solution to it but gradual changes at different levels are needed, besides corruption is severe in education sector and lot of hurdles are put up just because of corrupt officials.

While education is an important factor, many states  have improved it in a manner that a young workforce is generated at a regular rate, like Tamil Nadu to work in manufacturing plants.

There is an immediate fix that will make this change possible but government should take a brave call and not to think about vote back games. All government employees kids must study in a public school and that's it we will know the real quality education.

Since you all talking about schools and stuff let me also bring something about education in general at present. It used to be backbone of our developing countries and that is why now we evolved into a much postion in all the sectors as individuals and Indians holds very important position in every part of the world. But the things are bit saturated there's private school at every corner and everyone wants to become a graduate even when we are aware of the unemployment in our country. And schools and college is the hit trending business to become right now in my opinion.

Re: Bitcoin withdrawal suspension saga: why self custody is the best
by
LucyFurr
on 31/08/2025, 23:16:39 UTC
The thread was explaining why users had their withdrawals suspended and why it is important to use self custody all the time. I didn’t say they used centralized exchange or that both accounts were wrong, but rather was again advocating other participants for more use of self custody to further prevent situations like this.

What I can see is that two addresses looked similar, so mempool showed a warning that it can be an address poisoning and even if it is the exchanges don't suspend all the addresses linked in the txid that is ridiculous if it is real and I don't think there is any reason for an exchange to do that.

How did you get that information? Is there any place the exchange mentions about blacklisted transactions?
All I see is two similar addresses show mempool show a warning like it could be an attack but if it's actually two different addresses, then there should be no problem with that. Certainly, exchange's blacklisting seems weird to me.

You can simply check or verify this by actually looking at rainbet signature thread and see that some members changed their addresses. Maybe you can see how I got the information
What I am seeing is some people requested their address to be changed but no one mentioned anything about suspension of kucoin exchange or address poisoning that is why it is really confusing why you came into such conclusion?

So of recent many people got there withdrawal suspended due to a potential poisoning address attack after receiving payment for rainbet campaign managed by Hhampuz, this is common with KuCoin exchange users
How did you get that information? Is there any place the exchange mentions about blacklisted transactions?

I don't know what you did, but the coins didn't move. Someone else can still take them unless you move them to a new address.
I just imported the address and moved to a new address. Check now.

Why? I literally told you where you can find some in your other topic:
That's what I checked out first and I tried the sweep but ran into some error like code 4 and looked into some resources but can't seem to identify what the problem is and my next question will be about that but meanwhile, I tried some basic like sending/bump fee with the coins got from faucets.

And one coin per QR? That's overwhelming for me. Shocked

https://altquick.com/faucet/

We are probably worth having a account on as well Testnet wise... lots available.  I get that may not be what you need, but some people "want" thousands in minutes.

I get it, but why are some people doing that when the testnet coins have no value. Huh

I will add the link to the first post.

In another thread, I was advised to have my own testnet node if I wanted to use Bitcoin Core for experimental and learning purposes. So, I set up my own full node on Testnet4, it’s much lighter compared to the mainnet. Testnet4 size: ~7–8 GB, Mainnet size ~650+ GB and still growing. That makes testnet more useful for anyone to learn more about nodes, wallet settings and other wallet operations.

The Challenge: Getting Testnet Coins (tBTC):

Finding tBTC was harder than I thought. I tried many faucets listed in old threads, but most of them were either empty or completely offline. After some digging, I found a couple that worked for me, and I successfully got my first Testnet Bitcoins.

1. https://faucet.testnet4.dev/
2. https://coinfaucet.eu/en/btc-testnet4/

Both of these were simple to use. Enter your testnet address = Complete the captcha = and get your tBTC

P.S. Both faucets recorded my IP, since one can claim once for every 12/24 hours. If you are concerned about privacy then use a VPN.

There are a few other faucets, but they required logins, so I decided to ignore them and only share those that don't require any login. If you come across more working faucets, feel free to share here – I’ll test and update this list.

^ But it will never happen, in India most of the revenue generated by government is through indirect taxes and as per the reports number of people filed ITR in the last year is around 9 crore and 80% of them comes under tax exeption limit so it's more or less 1% of people are paying their income taxes in our country even though most of them will fall under the category of more than 2.5 lakhs per year these people are mandated to report IT even though they pay zero taxes.

If we want to see the less taxes on fuel and others, then the government should force the people to pay their taxes.

I support this bill, I am not sure it will affect the existing gambling laws but they concentrate the game of skill aka fantasy sport games like Dream 11, because they are successfully evading state's laws saying this is not a game of luck but a game of skill.

Dream 11 is still available in playstore but Rummy and poker app might be affected severly.

BCCI needs a new sponsor, though. Cheesy

Keeping money in banks is a safer option when compared to holding money on exchanges.
But don't you think that it would be harder to sell all the crypto holdings for INR and then hold it in a bank.
If someone got the intention of buying crypto again with that money then their safer bet is stable coin possibly USDT so they no need to safe any delays when they need to buy the crypto back but holding crypto or fiat in crypto is always a risky choice. But as far as I know we can't hold INR in any exchanges since wazirx so our choices are p2p, in that the only option is receiving INR into bank account or use it to buy crypto.

Exactly. Even I have seen videos on instagram where Indians in foreign countries are doing the same thing they do here.
Just yesterday, I saw a video where few Indians were bathing with soap in a beach/river thus contaminating that water.
Few days ago, there were red spots like gutka near the trash in London probably. So yeah, Indians are spreading their habits across the world.
Some of their habits will never change, but we ourselves have to be the change and make sure we never do something that makes the country look bad.

Stuff on social media always have such negativity, its better to avoid watching such stuff.

I would say that development here is skewed to some states and it is time consuming unlike many other countries but we are still doing it and that is what matters.

Yes those are some rare exceptions but most of them will behave in the way they are supposed to be and if not they will get into deep trouble. I have been to other countries and where they drive car by following all the rules and even Indian driving license got some power in other countries, where getting a driving license while we have valid Indian one will be easy.

India progressed a lot compared to where we were in the last 20 years that is true, but we fulfilled our potential to grow then we haven't yet.

That sounds about right, testnet4 is not very old yet (so syncing is much faster).

It took no more than 2 hours for the sync and now the wallet is ready. I will use the mentioned thread to get some tbtc.

A brief instruction can be helpful. Smiley
That one command Loyce has provided before your reply is all you need.
Everything that could conflict are already pre-configured to use separate/different values by default.

For more simpler guide (if you're on Windows), check this thread in 'Beginners & Help' board: /index.php?topic=5215716.0#post_actsteps
Note: --testnet is for "testnet3", --testnet4 is for the latest testnet, there's also --regtest for other tests that can be done locally.
And finally, I did it today.

India is IT powerhouse but all shareholders and big guys don't want to ditch dhandobaji and then comes out in open and says leave the AI stuff to big guys in silicon valley. Profit loss etc are depend on your product, everything will come if your product is competitive and good, right now this is missing.
We are doing good on service based things but we lack products as you said and we need to encourage the guys as early as possible to stay here and create anything so the government will be helpful to create a career here but now everyone just want to get a job even if the salary is very basic because they know with 1 or 2 year expereince they will find a better job and almost settle in some other part of the world except India, then how can we expect India to grow and who to blame here Sad

Speaking of tourism, ridiculous amount of potential here but atm it's chaotic and services are not up to mark due to various reasons ( need serious structural reforms from gov and society). At times, One can romantise the chaos a bit but not sustainable if you love travel.

The influence of vloggers gives an impression tothe  general viewer that we are doing good.

Reality is different, we are far behind in many ways and first thing as mentioned is about the cleanliness and the chaos nature in general when it comes to everything but these foreigners realized that if they post videos about India they will surely get the views in millions and can grow the their channel organically with less money spend for the package compared to any other country.

But medical tourism is real, people from different countries come here to get bthe est possible treatment at the most affordable price that they can't even get the diagnostic done in their nation, other than that people who want to stay here are very few unless their livelihood depends here.
