How to earn bitcoin effectively in Nigeria
by
Prosofina_G
on 25/05/2025, 17:58:41 UTC
Since the king of crypto continues to occupy the dominant positions in the list of top cryptocurrencies in Africa, the question of how to earn Bitcoin in Nigeria is an acute one, especially in light of the depreciating national currency. With the Naira set to experience its worst year since 1999, Nigerians are literally scrambling for cryptocurrencies of every kind to preserve the value of their savings. And as Bitcoin is the most coveted cryptocurrency on the local market, it is not surprising that everyone is looking for ways to add at least one coin to their balances.

Along with Ethereum and USDT, Bitcoin tops the trio of the most vaunted assets in the country. But the restrictive price of the asset, which has already surpassed the $47,000 mark by the time of writing, means that it is extremely inaccessible to the vast majority of Nigerians. As people have little capital of their own to spend on cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin, many are turning to either credit lines or innovative means that can help them generate some passive income in cryptocurrencies. In this material, we will take a deep dive into the most popular means Nigerians can resort to in order to generate some Bitcoins. Effective information of bitcoin in Nigeria.
by
Prosofina_G
on 25/05/2025, 17:03:34 UTC
Bitcoin in Nigeria has had a significant impact in various sectors, despite regulatory challenges. Here's a summary of the most effective and relevant information about Bitcoin in Nigeria:

1. Popularity and Usage
High Adoption: Nigeria consistently ranks among the top countries for Bitcoin usage globally, driven by a young, tech-savvy population and economic instability.

Remittances & Inflation Hedge: Nigerians use Bitcoin to:
Receive remittances from abroad (avoiding high fees).
Hedge against the naira's depreciation.
Access global markets and make international payments.

2. Regulation

CBN Ban (2021): The Central Bank of Nigeria banned financial institutions from dealing in cryptocurrencies.
Effect: This pushed most crypto trading to peer-to-peer (P2P) platforms like Paxful and Binance P2P.

Recent Developments (2024–2025):
Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has shown interest in regulating crypto exchanges rather than outright banning them.

A license-based regulatory framework is being developed for digital asset service providers.

3. Risks and Challenges
Volatility: Bitcoin prices can be highly volatile, posing risks for users treating it like a stable investment or currency.
Scams: The popularity of crypto has also led to increased scams and Ponzi schemes targeting inexperienced users.
Regulatory Uncertainty: Constant changes in policy create confusion and risk for both users and businesses.

4. Economic Impact
Financial Inclusion: Bitcoin enables unbanked and underbanked Nigerians to participate in the global economy.

Startups & Innovation: A growing number of Nigerian fintech startups are integrating Bitcoin or blockchain technology in payments, remittances, and savings apps.

5. Education and Awareness
Crypto Communities: There’s a growing number of workshops, YouTube channels, and communities in Nigeria focused on crypto education (e.g., BitcoinNG, Blockchain Nigeria User Group).
Youth Engagement: Many Nigerian youths see Bitcoin and crypto skills as a pathway to financial independence or careers in tech.

Ways to understand bitcoin.
by
Prosofina_G
on 22/05/2025, 01:14:35 UTC
Learn the Basics (Conceptual Foundation)

1 What is Bitcoin? A decentralized digital currency that operates without a central bank.

Blockchain: The technology behind Bitcoin—a public, distributed ledger of all transactions.

Mining: The process of verifying transactions and adding them to the blockchain in exchange for rewards.

Wallets & Addresses: Tools for storing and sending/receiving Bitcoin.

2. Watch Explainer Videos

Visual learners often benefit from YouTube channels or documentaries like:

“Bitcoin Explained” by 3Blue1Brown (visual and math-based)

“Banking on Bitcoin” (Netflix)

Andreas Antonopoulos lectures
3. Read Books and Articles

Some well-known books:

“The Bitcoin Standard” by Saifedean Ammous

“Mastering Bitcoin” by Andreas Antonopoulos (technical, but comprehensive

Online resources like Bitcoin.org or CoinDesk

4. Use Analogies

Compare Bitcoin to things you already understand:

Think of Bitcoin like email for money.

Blockchain is like a shared Google Doc that anyone can verify but no one can alter retroactively.

5. Hands-On Experience

Create a Bitcoin wallet (like BlueWallet or Muun).

Buy a small amount (e.g., via Coinbase, Cash App, Binance).

Send a transaction to yourself or a friend to see how it works.

6. Study Use Cases

Understand how and why people use Bitcoin:

As a store of value (like digital gold)

For censorship-resistant transactions

In countries with inflation or capital controls

7. Join Communities

Ask questions and follow discussions:

Reddit: r/Bitcoin

BitcoinTalk forums

Twitter/X: Follow thought leaders like Jack Dorsey, Lyn Alden, or Michael Saylor

8. Dive into the Tech (if you're ready)

Learn how cryptographic hashes, proof of work, and nodes function.

Try running a Bitcoin node yourself (e.g., via Umbrel or Raspblitl
We the newbies should have in mind that bitcoen

The source of bitcoin.
by

It can take you a lot of time and consistency to actually know the roots of a particular thing that is so important to you, most of us precisely the newbies I found out that we really enjoyed this great platform but some of us lack the source of bitcoin, this my little knowledge that I have known so far in bitcoin.

The source of Bitcoin can be traced back to a white paper titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System" published on October 31, 2008 by a person or group using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto.

Here’s a quick breakdown:

Creator: Satoshi Nakamoto (identity still unknown)

Date of release: White paper in 2008, software released in January 2009

Technology: Based on blockchain, a decentralized, public ledger

Purpose: To create a decentralized digital currency that allows for peer-to-peer transactions without intermediaries like banks

The original Bitcoin blockchain started when Nakamoto mined the Genesis Block (Block 0) on January 3, 2009, which included a hidden message:

The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks
This was both a timestamp and a commentary on the existing financial system.

We as newbies is not really easy for us to understand this positive forum of cryptocurrency, but be it as it may be we will continue to read broad in understanding it, believing too well that every positive strongle begin at a step when I see the junior member, senior member, hero member and legendaries I new they all started as newbies because there is no shot cut to this great platform.

So when considering cryptocurrency wether you are thinking of investing using it for transaction or building technology around it there are several important factors to have in mind this factors includes.

VOLATILITY: when talking about volatility in cryptocurrency this simply means unstable price within hours or days making them risky investments.

SECURITY: you have to be really careful and mindful of your wallet and keys, it is very important because once stolen or lost crypto assets are sometimes unrecoverable.

LACK OF REGULATION: while decentralisation is a benefit the lack of regulation also open the door to fraud scams and market manipulation.

SCALABILITY ISSUES: some network like Ethrerum and bitcoin can become slow and expensive during high demand.

LIMITED ACCEPTANCE: despite how growth, most businesses don't accept cryptocurrency as payment.

USABILITY: we the newbies find it so difficult to understand and manage cryptocurrency safely.

Hello theymos/ admins.
For a while, if I am not mistakenly I have been inactive for months or a year plus now due to my busy schedule handling physical businesses and running around for something better, decided to distance the forum for a while, although I came online few days back to just read things across the forum as I know new things might be implemented and isn't good coming back without reading to know the latest happening within and outside our local board.
But to my greatest surprise my mail was changed from the previous mail I used without me having to authorise anyone changing my mail, I want to know if this was done by admin or it's a kind of auto reset of a mail because checking from my profile this is not the original mail that I used in signing up this account and I am not also blinded not know the mail I used in signing up my account.
Please I want to know if this forum is no longer secure, whereby admin or mod could automatically reset my mail without my permission. I need help and I want theymos to look into this matter.

Below shows the screenshot of the reset mail

Re: HOW DOSE BITCOIN MAKES MONEY?
by
Prosofina_G
on 29/11/2023, 21:59:02 UTC
HOW DOES BITCOIN MAKE MONEY?

Bitcoin makes money when there seems to be scarcity of it (Demand & Supply) and there are people who are actively buying it this will cause the price to increase and the more people keep buying it the more the price keeps going higher, at this point those who bought it at very tender or when the prices seems not to be higher then can now start selling back. At this point you have made money from holding bitcoin but doesn't mean that once you buy bitcoin you began to make money instantly No it requires time and patient moreover it's highly volatile you have to be prepared to invest in bitcoin because if you invest your hand earn money and it happens that price goes against you then all your money is gone although that doesn't mean that you totally lost the money but it would come back when the bitcoin price tends to reach your entry points, your fraction doesn't reduce rather what reduces is your dollar equivalents.

You have really really nailed it, this is a pure definition of what I was actually looking for, I, made this post to know exactly how it works, most of us who are newbies don't actually know how bitcoin works.

For those of you saying this  my question e get as e be, my brother e no be anything na you way no understand the question, see as smartGold01 con explain the questions in detail.  SmartGold01 thank you very much I own you.

As a newbie who is trying to come up by leaning from the hero members, members and legendaries of Bitcoin forum,  it has been a running thought in my mind how really dose Bitcoin make money?
Before attending to this question first,

what is Bitcoin: Bitcoin can be seen as the circulations of works control data,  in which no institutions or government that controls it, it is mainly for electronic payment from one party to another.

HOW DOES BITCOIN MAKE MONEY?

in my own little opinion Bitcoin makes it money through mining process, its data of transactions and rewards computer operators.

we all know that Bitcoin is so broad that coming to crash is so minimal, but the big question is  what if it crash?

it is so obvious that majority of the world is totally dependable on Bitcoin.
but I think that in anything we do we should try as much as having a plan b, there is nothing wrong if we invest in other business as plan b.
for example I have seen most men who are international staffs in an oil companies taking a huge amount of money at every end of the month not knowing that nothing last forever more especially money.
so am on the opinion that every Bitcoin miner should have a plan b of investing in other business to avoid the story that touch.

Almost earlier this year till now I just they reason why most marriage they break (divorce) I don they see plenty husband and wife quarrel almost every single day in deferent locations.

I con dey reason this thing for long now say waiting dey really bring about husband and wife wahala for family.

1. Money
2. Alcohol
3. Impotency

Money: you see this money na one of the thing way dey cause problems inside marriage because if money no dey na so so wahala for the marriage, wife go dey insult the man for house and all of us know say money dey play major role for marriage.

Alcohol: This na another big wahala way dey capable of breaking marriage, for example oga way don close from work instead of aga to go home oga go follow friends go bearpallor go drink to stupor now the guy man don high as in dey go house na to abuse madam and every other person way dey house this go make marriage secater.

Impotency: This one na the oga of them all this one feet make madam go make love with gate man because the husband man hood no they stand or in no feet perform work well.
This can cause marriage wahala.

Conclusion: you see all this facts way be say I outlined here like this na the things way me I feel say dey really cause wahala for marriage. So waiting una feel say they really cause problems for marriage?

Re: We should control our tongue at all time.
by
Prosofina_G
on 23/11/2023, 18:55:11 UTC
I was traveling from Port Harcourt to Bayelsa state yesterday afternoon, we go to a police check point and it was the Federal Sars men that stopped us. While they were doing their lawful duty of searching the vehicle and the passengers in it, a girl that was sitting behind me made a comment and the officer that was conducting the search heard her loud and clear. She said '' You people are just wasting our time, if it were the bad boys terrorizing the region you people won't stop them''. The Sars man got angry and asked the girl to come down from the vehicle, the girl came down and she was taken into their custody for further questioning about her comment. The officer asked the driver to carry the rest of the passenger and continue with the journey. Some passengers pleaded with the officer to let the girl go but they refused, they said the girl must show them evidence where she saw them not stopping bad boys. They accused the girl of working with bad boys. The girl was detained while we continued with our journey.
The girl wouldn't have found herself in that situation if she had kept quiet without saying a word.
we should learn how to control our tongue at all time. Don't say unguided words when in public place.
Don't say anything when your opinion is not sought after in a public place because you don't know who is who.
I feel like sharing this so that we can avoid some unnecessary problems in our lives.
Well, I really felt so bad about how some people makes ugly and sealy speech more especially in public places, even if you have a civic right of freedom of speech but speak and defined your speech, this exactly how a lady batch into a marital conflict between a husband and wife telling the man's wife how the husband has extral marital affair that he even have a family.

Only this information lead to divorce or separation of the man and his wife, the man took the matter up just to know who  tire his family aside low and behold the woman was arrested and could not defined what she said concerning the man having another family.

I think some people should just be mindful of what to say while in the public places or things they are not sure of.

Because when the humiliation will come you can not withstand it so it really matter what you say in public.

Every day by day this hard drugs called weed, loud, and lce
dey drag our youth closer to their grave this same hard drug matter don mak many of our youths go incensed and mad for the street in fact I been watched a shot video clip on how one guy kiss tranforman just because him go dey on cruise mode, I fit boost tell una say most boys no fit dey without moding two or more raps of loud or weed only say because e dey mak them fresh and eat well, But why most boys dey say smoking no dey kill???

Quote
This poses a question. Why does a country that currently ranks as the country with the most people living in extreme poverty (according to the  End poverty organization), turn out to be so dependent on drugs? According to a UNODC report, Nigeria ranks as the top user of opioids in Africa and the third-highest user of opioids in the world. See world rankings here.

Another report by the UNODC shows that over 14 million Nigerians use one form of opioid or another, and have the most level of prevalence in the world as of November 2020. This number is projected to increase rapidly if the situation of drug abuse in Nigeria persists.

I been see this post about how Nigerians are one of the most poorest country but them still dey smoke the painful part be said poverty no wan gree go self people dey suffer
And all the time na poor Nigerian youth dey tak all this hard drugs pass u no go too see this rich men children dey too smoke am like the poor once. my advice to us be say make we tak am easy e go better one day one love .

Talking about smoking, this is a very nice topic, but am just seeing it at the surface because tobacco Marejuana and other related drugs  I think it dose not originated in Africa not to talk of Nigeria been the highest rank in smoking.

Many countries has been on the lead when we talk about intakes of drugs since the history of it,  and the abnormalities of this countries is on a very high side because both old and young are on it.

And it has cause so much damage and brought about illnesses and abnormal behaviour most of this countries which are on the leads are
1. Lebanon
2. Greece
3. Nauru
4. Serbia and
5. Tuvalu
This all I can remember hence is far more than this countries mentioned above.

Talking about intake of drugs in Nigeria

We are know that in this country called NIGERIA we are really really not serious about some certain things like intake of had drugs majority of us NIGERIANS see it as cruise while others see it as let me feel among because my friends are doing it.

That's why am totally agreeing to what @rachael9385
like in most countries, people smoke because of the way their weather is, some of these countries are too cold to the extent that most of us in Nigeria even say we won Japa from Nigeria, we no go fit go stay there comfortable, so if the citizens of those countries are smoking then, I will say that it is because of the way their weather is.
Now in Nigeria We want to copy almost everything in other countries, in Nigeria We smoke when the temperature is too high,  in Nigeria We wear big jackets when the temperature is so high, in Nigeria we take so much alcohol because we want to calm down when we have little miss understanding with our wife's, relatives, friends, and families who told us that intake of alcohol calms the Brin.

All this copying can make a man go mad can equally make a man go through mental disorder.
There for we should stop behaving like others or copying them.

Shitcoin na decentralized finance way no get regards or value in the program system so any person way go buy am waiting you expect na so ona two go fall yakata.

Re: bitcoin affecting altcoins
by
Prosofina_G
on 19/11/2023, 11:54:03 UTC
Overtime i see that whenever there is a dip in the price of bitcoin, other altcoins tends to follow suit by also dropping in their prices and whenever there is an increase in the price of bitcoin, other coin as well increase in their value. Does it mean that other altcoins cannot be dependent on their own? Like must the activities of bitcoin affect the alternate coins at all time? I really want to understand why alternate coins like BNB, ETH, TWT, MATIC,  XRP,  LTC, DOT, ADA, SOL AVAX and so many other alternate cryptocurrencies are always affected whenever there is a change in the price of bitcoin like can't they be dependent on there own? as they are all cryptocurrencies despite the fact that bitcoin is more volatile than the rest of the cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin as the case maybe is the controller of the market and as such all cryptocurrencies follows the direction of Bitcoin.
And why is bitcoin the mover of the market because I think bitcoin is the genesis of them all, further investors tends to invest in bitcoin rather than altcoin.
