NUEVO. PERFECTAS CONDICIONES.
VENTA EN CDMX
0.015 BTC
--------------------------------------------------------------

Hola.

This concept of stress test made me think of how traditional finance ecosystem Stress tests appeared to be their recursive bubble busts.

Curiously though, when government goes out to rescue banks they do "stress tests". What the.....

But, yes, stress test as it was called in the bitcoin world seems a good paralell exercise.... besides what devs do in testnet.

Geeky Fashion?... welll, Geeky comment ahead.  Grin

I was reminded of that Big Bang Theory's Episode where Leonard is forced to wear, no Tshirt no nothing beneath, that itchy orange sweater some grandma or aunt had given him.

This sweater might be extra comfy but I naturally run away from warming, thick things... it's always the double-layer thin clothing which makes me warm if needed. The hat thing could be my thing, though.

Reflection.... just as in such episode Sheldon makes a point to show that he feels just as alienated as Leonard with the sweater on when he's forced to renounce to his odd closure rituals and integrity code... that's how we bitcoiners feel when wealth goes out from the Bitcoin world.

Re: New bitcoin bounty site (WillPayCoin.com)... Live today.

Good work, I replicated the initial shoutout efforts on twitter, even for my half English half Spanish follower pool, the words are kinda universal.   Bounties... and it's equivalent in Spanish, "recompensa".

So see you in social networks, too!

as the site grows eventually with a lot of differentiated bounties, you might want to induce a classification system somehow by hashtags, and so letting your followers know about the precise kind of activity or field the bounty is given at. Hey, it's too early to plan, but hopefully this works for inspiration.

Just joined.

I did jump at the idea of bounties. Oh, I remember good stuff some months ago when I won the bounty for an Entrepreneur regarding how to name his products. Smiley Good stuff.

I find it great that a seemingly important movement in security is open to all the community. Then again, many will object "why another forum....", hey, I just look forward to see what will be in there.

In the meantime, I share my impression that every crypto site (not general-purpose on bitcoin like this one) or service has her own idea of what is security. My mind related to the few work for bitcoins sites out there.

Anyway, best for this project and will be checking on it frequently.

Re: Should we or not create a social network for bitcoiners?
by
Samperio
on 05/10/2015, 07:49:37 UTC
Okay, only so many people would ever use bitcoin, just as so many transactions would be possible in a given period of time.

As it has been hinted, we've got to reach out to other people to give diversity and foster innovation (if not in bitcoin's tech or paradyne, yes on its implementation). That would probably not be the case in a bitcoin-centered social network. Sure, in such a network new ideas might come out, and yes, it's as vulnerable to bad intentions and flooding as bitcoin itself.

That phrase mentioned every once in a while regarding that people in bitcoin are their own enemies comes to mind. Okay, you had a great idea, developed critical mass for a project, etc.... now, how do you convince all prospective clients/users to get engaged with the project you developed? There would be the challenge. Not exactly what was asked here, but I did express my vote for "no", no need for a btc social network.

Re: ¿Casinos o casas de apuestas en español que acepten bitcoins?
by
Samperio
on 12/08/2015, 03:21:40 UTC

Re: SURVEY - Trust in Bitcoin
by
Samperio
on 09/06/2015, 10:22:48 UTC
I also filled in the survey. Was it my jetlag or in English it actually said that you "didn't have to answer ALL questions in order to complete the survey"?

Sounded to me like bartering for answers or something? Like Homer Simpson paying a suggested donation of "0" at the Museum.  Grin

Surely, no survey will leave all people happy, but this is a space to comment... while paypal is so more comprehensive for anybody to pay (I see it this way, I can paypal with almost anything electronic I have, except cypto), micropayments as they are called are much more suited to bitcoin.

Once I paid less than 1 USD worth with paypal, paypal reported the fractionary amount, but my backing card (european, USD denominated) was billed 1 USD. either paypal comissions or bank nonsense.

Okay, so I'll wait that mercant to start receiving bitcoin...  Roll Eyes

Re: Bitcoin Business Ideas?
by
Samperio
on 09/06/2015, 05:57:21 UTC
Many will give (or not) you ideas regarding an online venture. It's always easier to start something where the bitcoin business never goes out of the computer realm. But you'll have a reduced target market, increased competition, and less chances to succeed.

Still, some real-world service or product demands you to link to the non-crypto economy, which requires clever business plans.

For one, I'd think it would be great to manufacture some specific items Bitcoin lovers would love having. Yeah, the btc T-shirt venue seems to be as commonplace as the jeans market in general. You know, every fine dinner at home I find myself wanting a nice BTC corkscrew... or... cork substitute to save the wine for later. BTC symbol and caption saying "Don't spend it all in one seat", it could say... which is wise advice for BTC and Wine. :-)

Re: [03-21-2015] Bitreserve Partners With Mexican Billionaire Ricardo Salinas-Pliego
by
Samperio
on 19/04/2015, 08:39:13 UTC
I only learned about it by watching the interview at the Keiser Report. BTW, Salinas' TV Azteca studios were also the host of Keiser Report from Mexico.

It did strike me on how Ricardo Salinas, the closer you look at Latin America Reality, is deemed as much of an Oligarch for the sales of products and services to the working class, just as Warren Buffet (you might want to check that part of Last Keiser Report) is now selling "mobile homes" to poor people.

Go figure.

Salinas, certainly, is not as wealthy as its superb competitor Azcarraga of Televisa media company, or America Movil's Carlos Slim.

I suppose one "Maverick" businessman had to step forward and offer what no-one in Mexico had offered before. I've got the impression that most other companies are too tied for now to the fiat banking system, so that they don't want to do anything with bitcoin.

Oh, yes, Maverick seems to be a good term: Salinas' TV Azteca also sold years ago in retail stores a decoder for the recently introduced TDT system, by MUXing restricted signals into their regular, public broadcast channels. That was deemed as the ultra-low price access for people to a couple of exta TV channels. Azteca was "reprehended" by the Telecommunications Bureau for using a public channel for different purposes than the ones their License allowed. Well, those private coded channels are still broadcasting today.

Just an idea: Even if lately I haven't followed many of the intersting threads here, this domain name sounds good to go with some other projects interested in developing awareness for bitcoin (I dunno if the project of living/traveling out of bitcoin movie is still alive, for instance).

Good luck!

Re: BTC Games
by
Samperio
on 09/04/2015, 04:01:47 UTC

I've read a lot about distrust and that makes me feel that, besides the lack of government oversight in BTC operations (something we probably find more appealing than discouraging), just as in the "formal" business world, a good way to protect your investment is "having your partner's balls grabbed", if you catch my drift.

Even thinking about reputable escrow services makes me feel dubious. But, case in point, in principle you have the escrow manager's balls grabbed by means of the reputation they aspire to maintain.

I have no thick wallet but hopefully anyone's ideas can help.

Anyhow, how about a game on this fertile topic (distrust in business). There might be potential for it, although I have not the slightest idea on how to structure a game about that.

As some free (hope not 'cheap' and useless) advice, I'll tell you about some game apps in general I've worked at (mainly translating captions).

- Managing a restaurant (something like SimRestaurant, if you will)
- All that kind of fancy RPGs mixed with isometric stuff, _perhaps_ featuring "buy more credits" with bitcoin, say, like that Simpsons game.
- Hey! how about Leisure Suite Lxrry comes to the land of bitcoin?

Oh, and I feel there's still so much to do for Bitcoin to be valued in Latam countries. Whenever you find games (likely to be in English first) suitable for a Spanish speaking market, you might want to consider me as your provider for translation. You stress a lot on how to make viral the app, I have not done much of that myself, but I could always learn of how this is done with this project.

[ I commented on the fun Simpsons app, and I'd like to say I definitely did not translate that app! It's not that good to my taste, but hey, that happens when translators use to many region-specific terms]

Buenas noches, y felices juegos!

Re: [ANN] FaucetEmporium Bitcoin Faucet - Getting Crypto Into The Hands Of More People
by
Samperio
on 22/03/2015, 06:35:56 UTC
Well, I finally got into the site. It's fun, and as any faucet, requires loyalty and perseverance to amass capital. Let's see how it goes.

Advertising, to my POV, is cleanly located, and clearly you partnered with those handling big publicity, so it is geo-located as I'm seeing ads relevant to my zone. Just as if I opened a local news site.

I believe so far there's only auto-withdraw option to withdraw funds. So there is really no way to choose. You know, if by rare luck I got the 100 dollars at once, surely I would not be able to wait til next saturday! But if I won, say, like 0.002 USD worth of bitcoins (as luck could dictate), I would not be thrilled to have weekly deliveries of dusted coins delivered to my account.

But hey, congratulations, and I appreciate your effort and look forward to be how big of a difference this Faucet is from so many others.

I guess your business will take time to develop applications, but I do encourage you to release applications for windows 8+ on mobile.

I have no precise statistic of how many Windows mobile users are interested in paying with Bitcoin (beside me), but you'd certainly be dominant if you start releasing apps in such platform the soonest. I would definitely do a donation to you from your newly released windows App.
