Hey URSAY,

Just wanted to remind you that I am on the 4/8 list (I believe it was 4/8) for the remainder of my BTC from my original order.

Here's my details again:

By my calculations, the deposit was short by .16 BTC.

Quote ID: c1324b76-442e-45fe-b0f1-d444e99345e4
Event ID: 7141f172-8250-41f2-97de-3d58d59f4712

I appreciate all your hard work.

If you are on this list then I have manually pushed your order thru.  You may see results soon.  Your tickets will remain open and they will still be escalated regardless.  Cheesy

URSAY,

I did receive the CURRENT price for BTC on Mt.Gox weighted average. ~189/BTC.

However, my Quote and deposit were made on 4/7 at 4:45PM, at a weighted average of ~165/BTC.

I would like to start a ticket to make up for the difference in BTC, as per Charlie's statement that quotes are always honored at that price.

By my calculations, the deposit was short by .16 BTC.

Event ID: 7141f172-8250-41f2-97de-3d58d59f4712

Again, requesting a ticket be opened to make up the difference in my Quoted price, versus what I've actually received.

Thank you for all your hard work thus far, and I look forward to receiving the rest of my order. Thanks again.

Old ticket CLOSED.  New ticket OPENED on 4/9 list.  Cheesy

You are the man/woman/android! Thanks.

It's pretty clear that the you won't get the rate that was current at the time you made the transaction.
It will be the BTC rate of when your problem gets resolved. BitInstant definitely doesn't have the money to refund everyone their lost BTC.
URSAY is not gonna be able to change that, and the only resolution is to stop doing business with BitInstant in the future.

Hey,

This is incorrect.

We have always and will always be crediting customers at the exact rate at time of deposit

Our automated system does not do this all the time, however when your order is processed, send us an email or PM or post here and refunds will be credited

We our solving all our issues this week, and we thank our customers for bearing with us in this explosion.

I want to remind everyone that we've never scammed or defrauded anyone. We are one of the longest running Bitcoin companies, and we are not going anywhere.

Thanks

Charlie

Charlie/Yankee, thank you very much for this response.

You being forthright and directly reassuring us of this has put me a little more at ease in waiting for my BTC. My hat is off to URSAY for being so level-headed in face of accusations and a large volume of work.

I hope my support ticket is resolved soon, as I am more than ready to sing the praises of BitInstant the moment it is funded to my wallet.

I'm on the support list for 4/7, but I will provide my information again, given that Charlie/Yankee is on the scene at the moment:

Quote ID: c1324b76-442e-45fe-b0f1-d444e99345e4
Event ID: 7141f172-8250-41f2-97de-3d58d59f4712

I will also happily provide my confirmation # and account # from MoneyGram if requested.

I will update this thread and post a new one the moment I receive my BTC.

Thank you again for all your hard work, URSAY and Yankee.

That would be acceptable if I hadn't provided the info in my original post....,.no?

I appreciate your swamped but....I think if you had a lot of personal funds taken from you with no explanation...you might not be so confrontational!

And why is it that there are so many people with the same problem....Doing a transaction and the money is removed from the source...ie MtGox....so that you have it and then it's tied up for many days with no access except for BitInstants.....who are free to use it for that time
ponzi scheme

I don't know aout ponzi scheme, given that I have used this service before, but it is CERTAINLY concerning, that when the price of BTC rises after they've issued a GUARANTEED quote, they seem to have trouble getting the coin to us.

I appreciate everything you're doing URSAY, but you're the only response I've gotten after contacting Bitinstant via support e-mail, phone, reddit messaging, and direct PMs. The coin that I was guaranteed at a particular price, that I have successfully paid for, with confirmation from my vendor, has NOT been funded to my wallet as of the time of this writing.

Deposit made on 4/7/13. On the support list for 4/7/13. Again, URSAY, you seem to be working hard and we do appreciate it, but short of us having our coins, it's not enough.

Quote ID: c1324b76-442e-45fe-b0f1-d444e99345e4

Moneygram deposit -> Bitcoin wallet. I did the same transaction on 4/6 with ZERO problems; had the coin before I got home. But BTC didn't rise 5-10% THAT day.

Let's see some action, Bitinstant. You won't have a bigger fan, or a louder supporter if I can simply get my coin to my wallet, as quoted, as guaranteed, as promised.

I wonder if any orders are successful. Must be, because the site is still accepting new orders.

Otherwise, don't know how they handle it if they are backed up like this and have to do manually.

Sure hope it can be done.

I would hope that they honor the quoted price at that moment for all these backed-up orders. Otherwise, we're losing coin.

You can add me to the list.
Never had an issue before... didn't save my quote ID. I can provide any information you need to retrieve it.

Transaction was Moneygram > Mtgox

Do you have any info that you think might be useful to me in looking up your order?  Give me SOMETHING.  Smiley

Just don't paste a GOX coupon code!   Grin

Have you added me to the support list for:
Quote ID   c1324b76-442e-45fe-b0f1-d444e99345e4
Event ID   7141f172-8250-41f2-97de-3d58d59f4712

Huh?

I've also PM'd your account, within the past hour.

Re: Mining profitably

Good to know, I feel a little better about the whole situation. My main concern still is the undetermined about of hashing power that will go online when ASICs deliver. Would that not increase the volume of BTC available, thus driving down the price?(Against USD/EUR)

The network difficulty level adjusts to regulate the rate of coin issuance, but this happens every 2k blocks or so, so there's a bit of a lag. A glut of miners selling fresh coin, should that happen, may well depress the exchange price vis-à-vis fiat bankster paper.

Thanks for the response.

I say that because I don't imagine the developers being ready to increase difficulty/reduce block rewards at a perfect 1:1 ratio against the increase in hash/s
Nonononono. This is totally wrong!

No one increase or decrease the difficulty! There is no one behind bitcoin, there is only MATH. Developers can only watch, that's all what they can do: watch, nothing more.
Difficulty depend on total hashing power  Wink And reward is reduced after a certain number of blocks, roughly the number of blocks found in 4 years

Re: The future of Bitcoin is illegal
by
Statesman
on 09/10/2012, 01:23:21 UTC
There is only one reason for a normal person to want a Bitcoin - to break rules, laws, and regulations. This is the future of Bitcoin, this is what will drive the price up, and I think this is what we should all be focusing on.
That is a bold assumption. It's like saying the only reason to enrich uranium is to build nuclear weapons.
Bitcoin has no intrinsic purpose - just properties. It's up to the people to use it for different things.

I think it's wrong to promote illegal activities to increase the value of bitcoin. The only exception is when the illegal is ethically pleasing.

Thus I am fixing this for you:
There is only one a reason for a normal person to want a Bitcoin - to overcome rules, laws, and regulations.

I can't agree with this poster enough.
