In terms of USD, yes. That's because the price of BTC against the USD is going up. It seems ICN/BTC price is stagnant, CMC reports a -.6% change in last 24 hours.

That's an old valuation that was done during the ICO, most likely to scare away investors so the parties behind that valuation get a bigger share of ICN tokens.
ICN has already crushed their valuation by few light years already.
Speaking Logically, Here's what I understand as to why ICN may follow an uptrend:
i) Ethereum Based Smart Contracts which makes it easier for them to launch Iconomi Index and trading platform
ii) They've got funds in possibly the future tech giants like Golem, Byteball, Ethereum and many more.
iii) Trading Platform generates fees and a lot of fees for them!!
iv) only 100M Coins (that's a big deal)
Personally I feel it has the potential to reach 10$ this year.. 25$ by 2018 end and 50$ in the next 5 years if not more because of the less no. of coins they have. Kraken has only 10% of the overall coins.
All the above is factual information and this makes it directly proportional for ICN to raise, cos if they don't I honestly don't know in which direction are they gonna go than upwards.

Each of the points you made is very significant.
$10 should be super easy to reach for ICN.
Personally , Ill be quite happy when Iconomi far surpasses Factom . Im a little weary of watching those two play grab ass for number 12 on the market cap.

A project of this magnitude & a team of this caliber; ICN will soon reach top 5 on the market cap.
It's just a matter of time.
As much as I want the launch to happen on time on Dec 28, I personally don't mind if they take a couple more days to make sure everything is working properly.

They will add Ripple/BTC pair the next year (Q2 more exactly), I got an email from them a couple of days ago with this anouncement
Both Bitstamps & ICONOMI are from Slovenia, so I wouldn't be surprised if they add ICN after ICONOMI platform launch.
Once the ICONOMI ICNX platform launches in next couple of days and people realize that ICONOMI just delivered a WORKING PRODUCT, the news will quickly spread around the financial world and we could easily see ICONOMI rise to $5-$6 before correcting above $2-$3 range, then it will really take off once the OFM platform is released.
And ICONOMI best promoters will be for free! The new fund managers offering their own managed funds through the ICONOMI OPEN FUND MANAGEMENT (OFM) PLATFORM.

I personally know a couple of real life Fund Managers (who manage millions of dollars), who showed real interest in ICONOMI Fund Management Platform and they're all awaiting this December 28 launch.

The sell pressure is there mainly because most new buyers don't have an ETH wallet to withdraw their ICN to and ICONOMI.net wallet still doesn't accept ICN deposits.
All that will change on December 28th when people withdraw ICN from Kraken to their wallets on Iconomi.net so they can earn the weekly Dividends, especially since Kraken didn't announce any plans to distribute Dividends to ICN holders.
ICN will be so scarce on Kraken that we could see 0.00100 reached within few days.

I had a similar experience with couple of people to whom I recommended ICONOMI, they were confused by ICONOMI.net website and said that ICONOMI looked like "just another Ethereum exchange" & thus wasn't worth investing into... These guys are actually somewhat familiar with Bitcoin but not very crypto-savvy to dig and find this BCT forum thread.
Just put yourself in their shoes and look at this homepage... not a single mention of "Fund Management Platform", "Index funds", etc...
You ever think maybe they are waiting for ICNX token to be launched, then exchanges can list ICN and ICNX at the same time?
It has only been 6 weeks since ICN launched on October 25
ICNX token has been known to be coming since the whitepaper. If I was a major exchange, I would think: "might as well just wait 2 months and list ICN+ICNX at the same time, instead of going through the process twice"

ICNX is a low risk & relatively low profit index fund geared for people from outside Crypto world, who are looking to diversify their investment portfolio with some exposure to Cryptocurrencies.
The majority of Crypto traders rather invest in Cryptos directly, especially Dividends-Paying, 0% Inflation cryptos like no other than ICN.
As ICNX, ICNP & other ICONOMI funds receive more funding, the value of ICN will only sky rocket because ICN holders receive Dividends from every single ICONOMI fund.
I think I agree but depending if they do it right then ICNX will do just fine. Its a great idea and we will be launching some similar on our site soon too. For me I wont exchange ICN for ICNX but I most certainly buy some ICNX. I think ICN could eailly move to 10 usd a piece when we get some movement and iconomi hit their targets.

Nothing is stopping ICONOMI MarketCap from surpassing Ethereum MarketCap.
It's much easier to get people from old economy to invest in ICONOMI index funds, than to invest in a single blockchain like Ethereum.
Also, ICN reaching $10 is much much much more feasible than ETH reaching $500.

Glidera is an excellent & very strategic choice to bring Fiat from the old economy into Bitcoin.
Kraken just made it easier for ICONOMI funds to get funding, which means more Dividends for ICN holders.
