Re: Pi Network: Future Giant or Overblown Hype?
by

on 04/09/2025, 16:04:43 UTC
It started with hype, and it continues to be so. They have a vast community and have been running for 8 years, but they are still in the testnet phase.
This project takes a lot of time to build its mainnet. One of the drawbacks of this project is that it's centralized, meaning you won't receive your premined token without undergoing a comprehensive KYC.
Only time can tell if this is a future giant or just an overblown hype, but right now the holders are creating hype because the roadmap are still incomplete and this is after 8 long years.

Re: Do casinos make more money when the price of Bitcoin drops?
by

Casinos always make money as long as they have loyal followers and new users. Not all gamblers have the same mindset; some will stop using Bitcoin and opt for altcoins, but they will continue to play regardless of market conditions.

I've never seen a casino close down due to market fluctuations; instead, it's always been losing its reputation, with very few players coming in to play. It's the competition that beats them, and not the market conditions.

Re: What would you do if offline casino refuses to cash out winning?
by
aioc
on 01/09/2025, 23:25:58 UTC
While surfing on the Instagram I came across a video, where casino refuses to cash out $25k winning even after providing ID. Here is that short video. A person has won $25k in gambling, but lady at exchange refuses to change chips into cash. If that person would have violated rules, dealer would not have given him chips, but since he has chips, he has won fairly.

If such situation happens to you, how would you react? What a person even can do in this situation? Go away with chips? Give chips to someone else and let him cash out? Contact lawyer?
This is unusual for a casino; any flagging should occur while playing, not after being rewarded with their chips. They should have a compelling reason why they cannot pay the guy's winnings.
Now that it's online, they are forced to pay or lose their reputation. The individual did the right thing by using his phone to document the situation, and based on the issue, the casino is at fault for declining the individual's payout. We don't know what the ending is, but I'm sure he will eventually get paid.

Re: Illusion of control
by

on 01/09/2025, 22:27:14 UTC
I like the term illusion of control, and it applies to casinos because newbies have a misconception about gambling that they can make money out of it. They later found out that it's not the case after losing a considerable amount of money.
They started enthusiastically and ended up depressed because of their illusion of control, which did not end well.

Will You Make Yourself As An Example Or Ashame To Expose Yourself
by
aioc
on 30/08/2025, 12:25:21 UTC
You're an experienced gambler, having gambled for many years and having seen and done everything. Part of your experience is taking a loan and chasing losses. What if one of the young new gamblers who happens to be close to you is planning to take a loan?

Will you open up and give yourself as an example of someone who takes a loan, chases losses, and eventually loses everything, or prefer not to because you are ashamed to look back at your bad experience, and people think that you are a weak person?

If you ask me, I will be honest and give myself as an example so that people will believe that it's a bad idea to take a loan, it's not a sign of weakness if you admit your past mistakes.

How about you? How do you see yourself?

Re: Gambling as a form of Mental Sports
by
aioc
on 30/08/2025, 11:42:28 UTC
The concept of gambling as a form of mental sports refers to the deployment of mental strength in some skill-based games and without physical display of strength or fitness.

Games like Chess, Blackjack, poker and even Sports betting fits in this criterion since professionals employ some good strategies, calculations and even critical analysis before taking the decision on your next line of action.

You cannot play these games without exerting effort with your mind and body, so it's considered a mental sport,  and every mental sport can become a form of gambling if casinos decide to include it in their platform and offer it to gamblers, even if the game is of a physical type, there is also an exertion of the mind, so every sports is considered a mental sports and it need discipline to become the top of this game.

Re: Kenye West token, YZY another scam token
by
aioc
on 29/08/2025, 11:13:09 UTC
Why are people still falling for these celebrities tokens?

More than 51800 traders lost while they invested on this token among the 70200 people that invested on the token. Among the people that lost money, 3 traders lost over $1 million.

Kanye West's shit token will be a bad example, whenever there is a celebrity token coming out in the future, people will shy away because of what happened to his YZY shit token. This token shut the door for any celebrity-based token in the future. There were celebrity tokens in the past, but this was one of the worst.
People should learn that not all that glitters is gold; popular names don’t apply in cryptocurrency if it has no use case.

And do you admit the idea that artificial intelligence will bring you money, lol?
If some cracked the code of winning in gambling through the use of AI then that’s going to be a game changer, but right now gamblers are still on the lookout for the best and reliable AI that will lead them to have a passive income in gambling.
AIs are getting better. I will not rule out the possibility of an AI exclusive to sports betting that will yield positive results.

Re: Gambling as a way to recover the economy, effective or not?
by
aioc
on 28/08/2025, 13:11:45 UTC

While other countries are trying to ban gambling in their countries, there are countries like Sri Lanka who is trying to use gambling as a way to revive their economy. They are aiming to attract gamblers from India and China to contribute to their tourism. Do you think this will be effective? Do you think it is possible to revive a failing economy just from gambling revenue? Would you be willing to travel to Sri Lanka to gamble?

They must have conducted a feasibility study for them to consider tourist casinos as the best plan to revive their economy. If they can plan it and implement it right, then they will be on the right track.
There are successful countries that have made their country a gambling tourist hub, so they will have to pattern their plan after these successful countries.
The gambling industry is a multi-billion-dollar enterprise, tapping into it to help revive a failing economy is beneficial, but it requires significant improvement and marketing efforts.

⭐ Merited by zasad@ (1)
1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
I got interested because it created a lot of buzz on forums where I was active.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
No, I did not buy my first Bitcoin. I got it from a bounty campaign back when Bitcoin was worth $1500

3. How did you get on the forum?
A friend invited me here, but he is no longer active here.

4.1. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to invest successfully, or does an investor need to receive special education?
With the introduction of innovations, it’s a continuous process; you should not be satisfied with what you know, because cryptocurrency is constantly evolving.

4.2. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
It has always been regulated by the government, which views cryptocurrency as a threat to its control over citizens and the financial system, leading to restrictions, regulations, and bans.

4.3. What is the situation with cryptocurrencies in your country? Are there any problems when exchanging for fiat? Which city or place in your country is best suited for cryptocurrency holders?
It's legal, but unfortunately, we can only trade on local exchanges here, as popular overseas exchanges are banned here. This happened because the local exchange has lobbied to restrict exchanges like Binance.

4.4. Are you using the Lightning network? If yes, for what purposes?
No, not yet, but I’ll consider it when I open my online store.

4.5. Which secure cryptocurrency wallets are you currently using?
I’m using Electrum, Trustwallet, and Metamask

4.6. Does the huge amount of betting and gambling advertising hurt the forum?
I don’t think so, it’s part of the Bitcoin ecosystem and one of the first to adopt cryptocurrency, which somewhat helped cryptocurrency move forward.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
I’m okay with it; we just need more merit-based sources, as many good posts are left out.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
I consider this the most useful topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0  / Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ
this is our reference on how we should behave and act on our beloved forum. We always return here to refresh ourselves and others, reminding us of how the guidelines and lines, although unofficial, are accepted by all members.
I consider LoyceV to be the most helpful user; the information he provides is all useful, and he has good common sense.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
I think having a chat is beneficial, and a dark mode is also a good feature.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
Yes, if I see potential, I trade some of my coin to invest in that project. Being an early bird in a project with good potential will pay off in the future.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
My most significant loss was on one meme. To think that I traded or sold three of my coins to buy this meme; these three coins that I sold went on to triple their value.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
It’s here to stay because it offers a dynamic and promising space that provides numerous opportunities for innovation and disruption in the financial sector.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
I read that one crime is committed against cryptocurrency holders every week, and with this, it becomes necessary to protect your identity.

13. Advise three cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?
I consider Polkadot, Solana, and Cardano.o I based it on institutional adoption and technological advancement

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2025?
Given the current trajectory, it is likely to reach $150 by the end of the year.

15. P.S. Thank you for the invitation to be part of this thread

Do you have gambling friends or you prefer to be alone.
by

on 24/08/2025, 16:16:55 UTC
There’s a popular saying that birds of a feather flock together. Does this apply to your gambling experience? What I mean is, do you have more gambling friends with whom you can share your earnings or strategy, or do you prefer to be on your own, not telling anyone that you gamble?

I have gambler friends with whom I can share my insights on boxing matches and horse racing. Honestly, it’s hard not to have friends in gambling because you want to talk to someone with the same interests.

I don’t know if there is a similar topic, but if there is, let me know, and I’ll lock this right away.

Re: Does playing brainless gambling games makes one dull?
by
aioc
on 24/08/2025, 15:50:45 UTC
It's said about brain that, "use it or lose it" — now, question being, do you think if person plays brainless gambling games such as slots, dice for major part of his/her daily routine, will it make him/her dull?

Edit: "brainless" as in playing gambling games that does not require using brain, I thought it was clear especially given examples.

In the first place, why do we gamble? We gamble to excite ourselves, not to become dull and lose motivation.
People become dull not from gambling but from their experience and their surroundings and how people treat them; on the contrary, gambling excites us and takes away our dull moments.
And the only warning we have about gambling is spending too much, not playing too much, and becoming a dull person.

Tingin nyo may chance ba to na pumasa? Pero sa tingin ko lang pag current administration ang mag handle nito baka hindi din or di kaya baka mauwi lang sa katakot takot ka kurakotan.

Kayo nasiyahan ba kayo sa balitang to at anong opinyon nyo dito?

Re: Does your local exchange ask for sender's info for every transaction?
by
aioc
on 22/08/2025, 15:39:49 UTC
It’s not your information that you’re going to provide, but the information of the sender. If it’s coming from your account in another wallet, you can fill in your name.

No, there is no file upload option, but I don’t want to fill in wrong information, as it could have serious repercussions in the future.
I am a bit confused on that point. Am I not the sender when the deal is going from my account? And you haven't cleared the KYC verification of the platform. Have you already verified your account with them? Then your information is already with them, and they could automatically track your information from their data. I am actually not getting what you mean by 'sender'. Do you mean when you are going to buy Bitcoin, then you need to provide the sender name? If so, then how will you know the real sender name?

If you are the sender, meaning you are selling Bitcoin, then the exchange should already have your information. It doesn't ask for every exchange; they should store your information once it has been provided. I am not familiar with this kind of local exchange in my country. I am used to Binance or Bybit P2P exchange, which is pretty easy.

Okay, let’s break it down to avoid any confusion. You cannot start trading on Coins. Unless you are verified, there are 4 or 5 levels of verification. Now, the topic is all about providing the information whenever you receive coins to your Coins.ph account, if it’s coming from your non-custodial, then you have to provide your own information; if it’s coming from someone, you need to get his/her information so you can fill in the info It’s a requirement.
I also wish that our government would grant Binance a license so we can trade here, as Binance is banned in our country, and we have to trade at our own risk

Welcome Betvio777.

I visited your site and I want to see the dashboard. So I decided to register but I could not find the button. Where is it? Did you forget to add? There is only a Login button.

How can we register? Grin

If people need to join via Telegram, I think you need to allow them to register via the website. Most people prefer this.

Obviously, OP launched his platform prematurely; he did not configure the sign-up page, and there is no information about what the platform is about, no FAQ, no TOS.
OP is a newbie developer and marketer; a seasoned developer will not think of launching his platform prematurely. There are stages before launching your platform, such as the alpha and beta. Alternatively, he may not be the developer, but rather the promoter.

Re: Gambling Ad warns sufficiently
by
aioc
on 22/08/2025, 12:03:00 UTC
But don’t you think that a constant reminder can wake someone up from delusion? What do you think? Is this enough or should there be more ways to promote responsible gambling?

These are standard ads for gamblers; all advertisements that are vice-related have a disclaimer because there is an existing law about putting a disclaimer, but it’s not something that will help minimise gambling addiction.

Gamblers are so accustomed to seeing these ads that they often ignore them, focusing instead on the casino being promoted.
The best way to promote responsible gambling is with dedicated ads that do not feature any casino sponsor that deals with gambling addiction and how to prevent.

Re: Would the gambling industry survive if people only played for fun only?
by

on 21/08/2025, 13:46:42 UTC

But what if people stop aiming for profit and gamble only for fun, what do you think would be the impact on the gambling industry?

Will we still see it growing or will the industry shrink?

Unless you take out the potential to win a jackpot, there will be people who will play for money; it’s human to realize profit and we are made to be productive and to generate money.

Even if the majority play for fun, as long as they keep betting and their betting habits remain unchanged, the casino will continue to make a profit; it’s just the way it should be.

Re: Is it important to gamble even when you know your win are not guaranteed .
by
aioc
on 20/08/2025, 16:24:23 UTC
A lot of new gamblers sees it as a do or die affair if they don't win their games and that is why they turn out to be more addicted in gambling because they keep on chasing their losses and ends up becoming a liability/ burden to their families, now the question is must you gamble to make money?

This is the wrong way to gamble, and there are dire consequences if you continue to gamble to make money. All who gamble with the hope of making money end up with the same fate.

Gambling is not that important and should never be prioritized, which is why experts have advised us to only gamble with excess money and spend with excess time.
There is no guarantee in gambling except profit from the gambling operators, so stop expecting to gamble and win.
