A new Bitcoin CROWD FUNDING platform [BitGrants]
by

Hi all,

We recently made our Bitcoin crowd funding platform BitGrants (https://bitgrants.com) open to the public and all is going well so far!  We've established our platform in 2016 and hope to incorporate our business early next year.  By listing as a company, our directors, registered offices and share ownership will be made public via Companies House registry (U.K based company registry).

Our platform works through trust.  A platform where Bitcoin borrowers and lenders meet to do business.

Each borrower has a Grade associated with their profile.  The higher their grade the less risk involved in investing on said borrower.  The grading system is based on the following levels of verification:

a). Identity (passport, driving license or national photo ID card)
b). Address (a recent utility bill clearly showing name and address)
c). Income (tax return, income statement or payslip)

Besides paper verifications, we also have several automated verification systems.  Such as linking the borrowers Facebook, Google and Paypal to the site.

We hold personal information on our site, which is kept on secure servers.  Our systems were developed by veteran programmers, who know how to harden a site against attacks.

The data we hold on our servers is protected by the Data Protection Act.  Thus, we do not share/exchange/sell personal information with any third parties unless:

a). Required to do so by law
b). A borrower defaults and legitimate litigation is brought forward.

You can register with our site quite easily as we have incorporated both Google and Facebook login.  As we know registration can sometimes be a hassle.

We hope to hear your feedback as our team has worked really hard to make this platform happen.

Thanks!

I haven't been able to find any errors you referred to by looking at Chrome and FF console output.  Please let me know if your error(s) persist.

Quick question did you guys use a script for this site?
Some of the code seems a bit dated, also the design seems a bit poor for something like this.
Ill look into more but dev tools in chrome and ff are calling errors all over the place.

Could you please report the errors you're receving?

I don't want to be mean or rude or anything but I will give you my honest point of view here. I highly suggest cancelling your project, the world doesn't need any more lending or crowdfunding platforms as there are plenty of them at the moment and always people are getting scammed.
If you insist and you really want to continue then, I recommend making the platform P2P and decentralized (without the need of verifying ID , passport or address) , I mean take a look at Bitcointalk lending section , the loans are going just fine and we don't hear scams often.

I'm sorry to inform you but we're in it for the long term.  I personally don't care if the site isn't an overnight success, but we'll get there eventually.  As long as we build a good community of trustworthy individuals (like BitcoinTalk's community - as you mentioned) then we will be fine.  Lots of new people are entering in to the Bitcoin space, it would be foolish to think it's all said and done in the crowd funding scene, or to say that their are any clear winners.   It's a big open market, with plenty of space for us all.

Such a non-professional site..
I think you should take the time and make a better, more creative looking website.
Not sure if lenders will put money at the moment on this site.

Good luck with this in the future, wish u the best  Wink

We believe the site's functionality is the most important priority.  Adding snazz is also important, but what use is good looking website if UI doesn't work!?  We've spent the majority of our time making sure all our systems function securely, so users can invest with us and have peace of mind.   The UI is an evolving thing, as we progress I'm sure we'll see a few iterations in the overall design.

Thank you for your criticisms - They have been duly noted.

Nice to see more sites targeting the BTC market.
I still think your site has a long way to go. Including the suggestions made above by xavier77 I think the UI needs a lot of work done to it. It still looks in its early stages. People associate trust with quality so having a poor UI will be a deal breaker for a lot of people.

Thank you for your kind words!  We are a relatively new site at this moment in time and are constantly looking for ways to improve our offering.  We believe in Bitcoin that's why we're a Bitcoin only Crowd Funding website.  We could have chosen from a multitude of cryptocurrencies, but we went with Bitcoin because we believe it's the main cryptocurrency which will succeed over time.

We use IP on the site to check the country of origin.  When users register, our server will record the inbound IP and do a cross check with a IP location database.  Thus, each user's country of origin is displayed on their profile.

Collateral isn't option ATM.  However, regarding your second point of the internet being dangerous:  Plenty of people make money on crowd funding websites as it stands.  You have to balance your risk/reward.
