So does anyone actually expect TH to update us this week?

I wonder how many actually still have open orders at this point.

We have waited this long so i'm totally willing to wait a little longer.

Thanks for the update!! We look forward to hearing from you next week.

If you guys wish, I can bring up the refund issue with Yifu (in case he answers), and get the chips refunded. But we are heavily invested into this. The cases, custom heat sinks, PCBs, parts acquired at higher prices or acquired from secondary market are all non-refundable and impossible to sell. And since we ordered everything for 80,000 chips (40,000 our own and 40,000 anticipated assembly orders). So even with a refund from Avalon (which we highly doubt they will ever give), we might be able to give only a very small partial refund.

But as I said we are working on something new, I request all of you to be a little more patient. We are going to announce something very unique, very exciting and very affordable next week. We really can't give out much details as of now, but in our opinion this would essentially be the final evolution in Bitcoin mining.

All of you know that we have demonstrated the ability to produce and run the boards. We were the first one to successfully assemble a K16, and we were the first to start mining with a fully assembled K16 as well. And we will again demonstrate the ability to mass produce boards once we get the chips.

In my opinion, instead of taking a decision of behalf of everyone and pressing Avalon for refunds, we give everyone the following options individually:

a) If you want 100% refund, you need to give us 3 months time. We fully acknowledge that we are legally required to issue a refund when asked. Legal issues aside, we ourselves want to do the right thing to maintain our credibility. But the fact is we do not have enough liquidity right now to process all the refund requests. If you are willing to settle for a partial refund right now, please contact us and we can work something out.
b) Keep your order with us. We deliver it within the promised time (2 weeks of receiving the chips). We will also give you a 20% (of your current order) credit for our next project which we will be announcing next week. This credit will be transferable (you can sell it if you want).

I hope you understand that we are doing this despite the fact that the current situation is NOT our fault. Everyone who ordered from us were totally aware of the risks involved. Also 20-25% was our average profit per order. So even with option 'b', we are willing to make 0 profit from this whole Avalon saga, just for the sake our next project and to maintain long-term credibility for our company.

We would love to hear your comments on this.

All who paid with CC and want to do a chargeback , better check with your banks as I did just few minutes ago. My bank deadline for opening dispute is 60 days, it means that I have 3 days left to do it. I was optimistic until yesterday, now lost my faith. Send few tickets to Terrahash with questions not related to refund but never got answer. Last ticket about refund remains unanswered too. That overfilled my patience. If chips will not show up in 2 days I will open a dispute in bank to get my money back. It was only small order in first batch but it took all my savings.

Supposedly capital one will do 180 days from the date of purchase.

I imagine they are delaying shipment to give B#2 and #3 a chance to ROI. Total guess though...

Good guess.  As of today, only 1 (zefir batch 1) group buy has received the chips.

Looks like the 2nd week of August terrahash delivery won't push through.

On someone's next visit, can they please ask about order status updates on their website and what they plan on doing with answering tickets more regularly as it appears they go unanswered for most?

I've sent a couple tickets in, on my status still showing as "Refunded" when it was not (obviously due to cancelled paypal chargeback) and would like to have that updated. I think another person posted the same issue, but it was resolved. I thought I read some other related issues with bank transfers, but those may have been resolved.

Obviously not a critical issue, but since I'm not getting a response, was hoping to see if someone there could resolve face to face. My travel schedule doesn't take me out West for a few months.

Will donate to those that made visits once I'm mining with the DX Large. Thanks!

Yeah same situation. Been emailing for weeks now with no response and no one ever answers the phone. Kinda just assuming they actually check more than the status before anything ships out? (Hopefully)

All he has to do is send me a refund and I will shut the fuck up, if it's that important to you go ahead and buy me out, see my previous threads for pricing information.

btw, I submitted an FTC complaint today.

I don't understand why they don't? They could just open up a limited amount of new orders to cover the refunds if needed.

They prob spent all the money on more chips when all the paypal funds cleared.

Hello Everyone,

I made the trip to Terrahash today...

Thank you knightlife999 for going on this trip as you promised.  I think with your efforts, some of the more alarming concerns raised in older posts have been put to rest.  We are dealing with a legitimate start up that has been off to a very rough start.  Things appear to be moving in a positive and acceptable direction.  I am seeing hardware being worked on, multiple updates, and photos from Terrahash.  My comfort level and patience have all been re established.

It's my pleasure. I'm glad we are moving forward. Smiley

Thanks knightlife999!

Just thinking.... out loud (and i don't want sued so this is not in any way a fact or more then a thought).    What if these updates they promise then don't ever do are just stall tactics for paypal to release the money to them and you miss the time where paypal has it frozen?

Thats EXACTLY what i was thinking the other day when i tried to get a refund and they denied it.

In the long run i don't think it will be a problem even though they denied it, paypal will side with us.

What happened with the Paypal problems? Have I missed some news?

Did payments get cancelled? Do we need to pay by credit card for our orders instead?

I wonder the same thing Ethough... No answers to any of that yet.

I was also denied a refund.

Has anybody issued a paypal refund and gotten it already?

I am considering canceling for a refund and buying some btc at these low prices instead.

I have 3 K16's on order 2 that are supposedly in batch #1 (order #528), if I refund for $750, I could get about ~8+ btc right now.
I think someone in thread cancelled with paypal, and went ok,,,if i see it I will post it. But others have complained also? I will give them a chance to put through the cancellation,,,if things dont go quickly,,,i will call paypal etc. I feel TH started out with good intentions, but hit to many snags and are overwelmed. What else could it be? If things were in motion for them they would be happy to tell us,,,so,,,,Like I said, this week coming up is going to have to be it for me. Looking hard at KNcMiner, may would be late in the year to get it,,,but bigger G/Hash, proven systems, for less $ per G/hash...and things are straight with paypal for them..so, we'll see.

Yeah i believe they started off with great intentions HOWEVER you KNOW they are watching these boards since they have been logging in and have posted in the past. ZERO excuses for not saying anything, all its doing is arousing suspicion of a scam and losing orders left and right. Its not that hard to post a msg... They did it before why not now? Way to many questions and no answers starts making everything think its on purpose. TH will have a very hard time moving on after this.

Its looking like KNC might be the way to go?

I think TH is stuck in the mud with a major cash crunch. I won' t wait till after my 45 day paypal limit for them to figure things out. I need something to go on this week or Im outta here and on to a new company with a new order. This is ridiculus

Yeah i'm with you. Monday night / Tuesday to hear something or i will cancel as well. No response,no answers and  no communication i wouldn't risk anyone waiting past the 45 days paypal limit.

Paypal 45 day buyer protection ends on August 2nd.

Hopefully Terrahash receives Avalon chips in mid July, but based on Avalon's track record, the chips will likely be late leaving Terrahash buyers in limbo.

Terrahash promised to ship boards within two weeks of receiving Avalon chips, so the clock really doesn't start ticking and they haven't broken any promises unless they don't ship within two weeks of receiving the chips.
The clock is ticking.... for sure...

^ So whats everyones cut off date when you start requesting refunds? Personally i was going to wait until around the middle of July if we didn't hear anything, plenty of time before the 45 days paypal buyer protection ends.

Sorry for taking so long for this order status update.

Here is the update:

PayPal has still not released the hold on our funds. We are still talking to them and trying to get the hold lifted. If something does not work out, we might have to refund all the PayPal orders. In that case we will give all the PayPal customers an option to hold their spot by paying with Credit Card, BTC or Bank Transfer. We have already been approved for a merchant account for Credit Card processing, and the bank will take 2-3 days to setup our account. We are still hopeful that PayPal will release our funds and we won't have to take this step of refunding all the PayPal orders. If not, as soon as our Merchant Account for Credit Card processing is set up by the bank (hopefully before Friday), we will mass-refund all the PayPal orders.

In case of a PayPal mass refund, certainly a lot of customers will fail to repay and hold their spot, resulting in many orders moving up the queue. So please give us another 2-3 days to resolve the issue with PayPal and decide the next step.

Thanks you.
