Re: Is altcoin worth investing?
by
cryptoid2017
on 12/10/2018, 11:04:11 UTC
As always, it depends on the investment profile and willingness to risk. A balanced risk approach can be to put half of investment to btc and half to altcoins, of course after some research and analysis. Investment purely into btc would be of course safer, but unless a person invests a lot of money, it will not make him really rich. I would say that even the biggest optimists do not expect btc to grow 1000x in the near future, which is still possible in case of some altcoins.

Re: This year proved it There is no Crypto Expert!
by

There are many people who pretend to be crypto experts. Some of them are experts on investing on other markets such as stock, commodities etc., which is nice, but if they just try to apply the same approach for crypto, then their advices can be useless. Crypto market is still too young and there are not many real experts, some people just have more experience and some less. In some cases, the more experienced people pretend to share information and advices, but they are just following their own interests. So it is important to be careful and continuously gather information and knowledge.

Re: Can any analysis predict btc price for the next month?
by
cryptoid2017
on 09/10/2018, 21:19:13 UTC
I am very skeptical regarding any possibility of btc price prediction not only for the next month, but even for the next day. And even if someone really has such ability to predict btc price, why would he share these predictions with anyone? He would rather silently buy and sell and become superrich. Different thing is price manipulation by big whales. They can in some way predict the price of btc, because they can directly influence it by their actions. But this is not a typical prediction by analysis Grin

Re: Is the crypto market really for anyone?
by
cryptoid2017
on 05/10/2018, 15:03:36 UTC
At this point of time, cryptomarket is not for anyone. This is the final goal and it will take a lot of time to achieve it. People need to educate themselves and get at least basic knowledge about crypto beforehand. And by far not all people are investors willing to take a risk. Therefore cryptomarket would be for everyone only in case the risk significantly decreases and everyday usability significantly increases. So people will rather be users than investors at this final phase.

Re: HODLing will get you nowhere
by

Cannot be generally said that hodling will get you nowhere. Ask those who hodl btc for a few years if this hodling got them nowhere Grin Smart trading decisions can earn you more, of course. But not everyone is a good trader, therefore hodling brings less risk and stress. Not to mention that trading is quite time consuming. And I would not be too much worried that everyone would just hodl and there would be no trading. There will always be some speculants and as the cryptomarket is still young, additional demand can be easily created by new money flowing to crypto.

Re: Cryptocurrency is gradually spreading

Most people learn about cryptos during the bull runs, because media coverage is highest at this time, including mainstream media. After the last bull run, most people already know that there is some bitcoin. But we need more, we need to turn these mostly skeptical people into believers and then to users and investors. And ideally also to increase their knowledge of altcoins. Hopefully, this will be achieved during next bull run. Good thing is that even during current bear market, development of the whole cryptoindustry still continues.

Re: Investment or free?
by
cryptoid2017
on 26/09/2018, 06:10:26 UTC
Regardless of the fact if the coin is distributed via airdrop or ICO, the success of the coin will be determined by the factors such as real usability, innovation, development, community, etc. This means that both paid and free coins can be successful. And obviously also that many coins and tokens, both paid and free will not be successful. Therefore it is always important to do the research in advance, especially if you are going to invest your money to some project.

Re: Do you think the currency part of crypto currency is actually failing? Thoughts?
by
cryptoid2017
on 24/09/2018, 22:29:06 UTC
I would not say failing, because you can already buy most things directly with crypto, even though the number of such shops is still limited. But it is quite difficult with the currency function, why would somebody spend something for goods or services if he believes that the price of this something (crypto Smiley) will significantly grow in the future. Therefore fiat payments will be prefered by such believers, which is quite paradox, because it postpones the adoption of crypto and its practical usage in everyday life.

Re: encourage others to crypto
by

on 23/09/2018, 23:49:25 UTC
It is important to continuously educate friends and people around us about crypto. Not only convincing to invest, it is always up to them what to do with their money, but rather talking about benefits of crypto and mentioning the risks together with ways, how to reduce these risks. Then they will be more open to cryptoadoption and they will not be scared of crypto and will not consider it as something dangerous. And some of them will invest part of their money to crypto.

Re: Airdrops are worth it !!!!
by
cryptoid2017
on 21/09/2018, 12:55:32 UTC
Of course airdrops are worth it, the only thing which you risk is your time. Either by applying to hundreds of different airdrops or by doing a research for a quality ones. Picking only quality airdrops is better strategy, even though it might not always be easy, but it would help to reduce the number of poor quality airdrop projects. In case of ICOs, you have to spend not only time for research, but also your own money so the risk is much higher.

Re: Crypto is not for people who want permanent money!
by
cryptoid2017
on 20/09/2018, 14:52:02 UTC
Current market situation is not in favour of becoming rich fast. In 2017, the situation was completely different and those who invested at a right time indeed could become rich within a few months. So in general, it is not impossible. The problem is that the situation from last year caused that many people who joined crypto afterwards thought that crypto market will behave in the same way forever and now, after huge losses, they are disappointed.

Re: Are you ready to use cryptocurrency in everyday life?
by
cryptoid2017
on 18/09/2018, 19:15:32 UTC
Psychologically, I am ready, but there is still a long way to go. Cryptos are still rather investment or even speculative instruments than money. Of course, cryptos can be used for payments, but most people rather hodl as they expect profit or they trade for the same reason. Both groups are taking advantage of high volatility, hodlers only on the way up, traders sometimes both directions, but with more risk. As long as crypto prices remain so volatile, cryptos will not be suitable for everyday payments.

Re: 66% of people in the world have heard about Crypto only 9% own
by
cryptoid2017
on 14/09/2018, 12:48:20 UTC
To be honest, the numbers from the survey look a bit strange. Maybe some specific groups of people with higher crypto penetration were asked or there is some other reason, but if 9 % of people owned crypto, the prices would be totally different. I would estimate that the real number is at least 10 times lower. Which is not so good, but on the other hand, there is even more room for growth. Maybe during the next big bull ride 9 % will be reached. It would be a huge success for cryptos.

Re: why does coins change price constantly?
by
cryptoid2017
on 13/09/2018, 12:16:28 UTC
There are too many altcoins and each market is very small. In some cases even a single person can cause a huge price change with a relatively small amount of money. In case of btc, it is not so easy, because it is the biggest market, which is also one of the reasons why btc price is less volatile. In case much more money comes to crypto, price will not only grow, but should also become less volatile. Only the biggest whales will be able to cause sudden price movements.

Re: Am I late to the party?
by
cryptoid2017
on 06/09/2018, 20:16:47 UTC
Yes, the great 2017 (and beginning of January 2018) party is over, nothing can be done about it without a time machine Grin After big party a strong hangover is nothing unusual. But after a recovery, new party will start. So be happy that you have an opportunity to join the next party, it is still only a beginning, still only a few people own cryptos and the total marketcap is relatively small. If you look back to the past, there were already several parties, much more will come, there is huge room for growth.

Re: How can a newbie benefits from crypto revolution
by
cryptoid2017
on 05/09/2018, 22:52:58 UTC
Even newbies without capital can benefit from cryptos, but they still have to invest something. In case of no available money, it has to be time instead. And not only time for participation on bounties and airdrops, but more importantly time for learning and gaining more information about cryptoworld. This knowledge can be useful also in case the person earns some capital in the future.

Re: Many will regret that they do not invest in cryptocurrencies
by
cryptoid2017
on 04/09/2018, 16:56:30 UTC
It is always the same benefit of early adoption of something what will become successful. The first adopters are the winners. After the huge correction, prices of many coins decreased to levels as one year ago so it was and still is good time to invest. Once the next rally starts, we will see a lot of regrets, thats obvious. Many are still afraid to invest due to high volatility etc., but I believe that the risks connected to crypto will continuously decrease.

Re: I need some Altcoin to hold longterm :D
by
cryptoid2017

I dont know in how many years you want to get married, but regardless of this, you should consider how much risk are you willing to take depending e.g. on the future purpose of this money and the harm which would be caused by losing it at all. Also not sure if it is a good idea to put all these savings only to crypto, but it depends on your answer to my point above. For your altcoin investment, if you want to reduce the risk, you should choose several coins and split your savings among them. Your risk can be further reduced by higher share of coins with bigger marketcap. So take some time for a research and choose carefully Wink

Re: Crypro will make people smarter?
by
cryptoid2017
on 30/08/2018, 16:08:24 UTC
Crypto requires from people to be more responsible for their actions. Transactions cannot be cancelled or reversed, crypto in the wallet is not insured, a lot of cryptos or even some exchanges are scams, etc. On the other hand, with the mainstream adoption, more and more people will join crypto and many of them will ignore the facts above. At least from the beginning, hopefully they will educate themselves before losing their money.

Re: Crypto currency back from the dead?
by
cryptoid2017
on 29/08/2018, 22:37:50 UTC
I would say that cryptomarket was far from being dead. Yes, the correction was bigger than many people expected and bear market lasts longer than many people expected. But if you look at the chart of btc from its very beginning, it is nothing unusual. If your question refers to the end of bear market, then I will be convinced only by longer period of growth with btc price above 10k.
