A new month begins,
And I just can't help myself.
ATH in June?
Hahahahahaha
You seem to be self-censoring in at least two ways.  need I count them?

I will say:  "Just say 'no' to self-censoring."

Tell "us" how you really feel.   Tongue Tongue Tongue
Well, I succeeded.

In making you (one of you, at least) laugh!
What do you think? ATH in June?

I think that the odds are greater than 50/50 for an ATH happening in June and maybe even approaching 60%, yet I am not sure the idea of an ATH in June is quite bettable unless someone were to be quite adamant against it happening and willing to give me odds for their betting against it.

I would also be willing to bet against someone who might proclaim greater than 90% odds of a BTC ATH happening in June.  Any of these would be fun bets and not necessary for a lot of money.
Ath in June is pretty predictable.
The real question is how much ATH will be an ATH in June.

IMF is evil.
IMF people care about IMF people, not about the people of the country where the IMF is intervening.
Also, they never have accountability for their spending. Not that this is a huge problem, since they have de facto infinite funding from member states.
Your post reminds me of the news of the IMF questioning Pakistan for allocating 2,000 megawatts of electricity for Bitcoin mining. From the look of things, it seems that the IMF is doing everything possible to stop nations from investing in Bitcoin. They are just tools used by some countries to control others. I agree with your assertion that they are evil.

IMF raises concern over Pakistan’s Bitcoin mining power plan: report
While writing this post, I was thinking exactly at that fact.
Pakistan is using their natural resources in a smart way, trying to steer their path toward a better future.
Yet the IMF wants them to pursue the same policies that didn’t work over the last 50 years, so they can perpetuate their (negative) influence.

They try but somehow they failed to dictate Pakistan on what they like to happen.

IMF is just a controlling institution and well known for their harsh loans condition which they usually intervene the national decision of government and want to insert their own policies on those countries.

But Pakistan is smart to know what's better for them and for sure that they won't get bothered on the disturbance made by IMF.

For having 42,131 MW for sure that they can sustain their Bitcoin mining  https://www.energyupdate.com.pk/2024/06/12/pakistans-installed-electricity-capacity-reaches-42131mw/

Using that energy to transform wasted energy into digital wealth, is the best thing Pakistan can do for their own future.
IMF should know that, they probably do (they got the memo from Capitol Hill, probably), yet they don’t want countries to really succeed toward their financial sovereignty.

Sounds amazing and something new to hear especially that we could always here about investment advises that invest only what you can afford to lose. But Saylor it seems that he's really confident that he won't gonna lose his money on Bitcoin.

Tomorrow at 1:00 PM GMT, we will have an announcement.

Since it was fixed and I am not at zero I am going to track my source merits given to me from bitcointalk.org  since the fix was made. As I kind of want to know how many I get in a month.

June 1 =  9 source merits given

You don’t know how many merits is your allowance worth?
Anyway, this is a better method, rather than not distributing any merit for 30 days, to see how many you are left with!

Exactly, look at El Salvador a poor and small country was able to act smart in 2021 to start accumulating one bitcoin every day and currently, they have been able to accumulate 6,190.18btc according to recent reports. This will help boost the country economy in future and will help them eradicate poverty gradually overtime. How I wish that the all the small countries can understand this and create a bitcoin reserve for a brighter future of the country.
Although El Salvador is a small country, the country's president has launched a strategic reserve of Bitcoin since September 25, 2021. El Salvador has issued an important slogan regarding Bitcoin investment, where his country will buy one Bitcoin every day, even among hundreds of problems. But that is being implemented because the IMF is putting a lot of pressure on El Salvador due to the strategic reserve of Bitcoin, yet the president is not deviating from his strategic reserve policy. Other countries should take inspiration from this groundbreaking step by El Salvador.

IMF is evil.
IMF people care about IMF people, not about the people of the country where the IMF is intervening.

I thought that it was an interesting bug, since one change far away broke something which seemed largely unrelated, and even though the code is self-evidently wrong, it's still fairly difficult to find the bug if you don't have some hints.

This is almost ancient Greek for me.
I now do understand why people have been studying Computer Science for Years, and it is not possible to rely entirely on Chat GPT prompting like I usually do when dealing with code bugs.

Nigel Farage Pledges to Slash Crypto Capital Gains, Force UK Bitcoin Reserve
Britain's Reform Party leader Nigel Farage made his case to Bitcoin 2025 attendees in Las Vegas ahead of a planned UK prime minister run.

UK politician Nigel Farage pledged this week to pass a pro-crypto bill if made prime minister.
Farage said he would slash crypto capital gains taxes and force the Bank of England to establish a Bitcoin reserve if elected.
He also promised to end crypto-related debanking in Britain, which he argued remains a massive threat.
Nigel Farage, the leader of Britain’s right-wing Reform Party, is going all-in on crypto—and used an appearance at Bitcoin 2025 this week to showcase his coalition’s new emphasis.

I am not sure British citizen, but I guess Farage is a good example of what a politician should not be. He didn't maintain many promises in the past, and I am not going to vote for him based on this vague statement.
Not that other politician, those of the ruling party included, deserve a better reception or support.

I'm not a great expert either, but I have some notions. So I could be wrong and have nothing to do with it.

At this point, as the hours pass and my curiosity grows, I am waiting for Theymos to explain in layman terms what happened. Of course, it can be done without spoiling any sensitive information—or next year, April fool!

Can anyone find the bug? This function worked for years, but then I did something very far away (i.e. I didn't change this function at all) which broke it.

Have you updated the server's PHP version, and the error occurs when using the mysql_ function? Starting with PHP 7, the function should be mysqli_, which can cause errors. Is that it?

I am no coder, I have no experience as a system administrator, but I guess this is exactly the kind of stuff that I think can break a lot of things.
Wondering if the change is so substantial, why it broken only this feature: I guess that kind of functions to be used broadly in the forum software.

What are your thoughts on this?

I think the Bitcoin strategic reserve is a one-in-history chance for smaller countries to steer their fate toward a brighter future.
Once, a country could be raided and stripped of its resources. Today, it can shape its future using Bitcoin in a positive way without anyone being able to do anything.

Looking at the negative value I'm thinking it is showing my true sMerit balance if I weren't a source. I had 1000+ unspent "earned" sMerits and assuming I've given away 7000+ "source" sMerits the result would be -6000 which is what shows up...

Numbers do not add up in my case.
I had basically zero unspent merits, I got 18k merits, while I sent 60k in total.
The negative number was -30k.

I have been restored, anyway.

Provided that the numbers stays the same, AND my merit stash replenish correctly, AND I am able to distribute my monthly merits efficiently, I could be back in positive territory in a little less than 5 years.
Nice way to train for resilience.

- Is there a specific day or a range of time Theymos renews the merits for the next month, or does he do it manually at random intervals?

Merit are replenished exactly 30 days after are spent. You send a merit on day t, on day t+30 on the very second you sent, you have it back.
Totally automated. No calendar month involved.

Did your negative merit count decreased after receiving few merits from this post?

I don't know exactely when it happened, but now the count is even worse:

Hopefully, everything will be sorted before we understand how those are computed.

I noticed that the page

is not loading on my side.
Maybe is it related?

Will be renewed I guess then the minus sign will leave.

Luckily, It’s not me only. At least two bad guys on the forum…
