I would never trust or rely too much on the words of low-level customer support personnel. They will tell you all the sweet things you want to hear or forget to mention what you don't want to hear. The only thing that matters is what is written in their terms, not to mention AML and privacy policies. If there is a separate AML policy document, your questions regarding KYC and other checks are answered.

What is surprising is that they were willing to scan and analyze your addresses and coins for "risk" and "taint." I haven't heard that before. Try to get them to say what third party they use for that analysis. I doubt they will, though.

It's definitely best to rely on the written terms and policies, especially the AML and privacy policies. What the customer support tells you can sometimes be unreliable, even if they're well-intentioned. I also always take screenshots of important messages when I chat with support of different services, just in case they decide to go back on their words.

It's worth trying to find out what third-party service they're using for that analysis, although I doubt they'll disclose that information.

Swapuz and Exolix are two different services. First, it was said that exolix was related to changelly/the change, now you say they were over estimating rates.

Do you have any relationship with Quickex? You seem to be shilling it a lot in this thread, and on top of that, spreading misinformation about other services.

For those who are privacy concerned, Trocador only validates to use Exolix or WizardSwap. Quickex has a KYC rating of C (meaning more likely to freeze due to KYC) and requires your IP to be logged with Trocador if you use it, while Exolix does not require IP logging and has a KYC rating of B (meaning less likely to freeze for KYC than Quickex).

Based on Trocador's assessment alone, Exolix seems to be a more privacy friendly and safer option than Quickex.

I just share information I found about Swapuz and Exolix. Of course, they're distinct services, and my intention wasn't to blur the lines there.

I don't work for Quickex, but I've had positive experiences using them, and wanted to highlight them as an option for rate checking (as you mentioned getting different rates). I will clarify my posts in the future to not appear as if promoting one service over another. I just wanted to give context as to why you may see higher/lower rates across certain aggregators and swaps.

It seems that regardless of the security rating, if you make an exchange through Trocador, the IP address will be saved. Again, nothing prevents you from using a proxy.

On Swapuz and Exolix they overestimated the exchange rates by 1%, as fas as I know they even were delisted from Orangefren because of it.

IMO, Quickex offers the most decent rates at the moment, at least for ETH-XMR swaps on Trocador. I checked on OrangeFren, they are also listed there. Personally, I use Trocador or exchange directly.

As long as an exchange has a centralized piece which can be attacked by the government, it will be attacked.

What we need isn’t an exch alternative.

We need a bisq alternative.

Why?

I am not saying bisq is total crap but It is obvious that bisq is not as popular as exch. The reason is simple. Exch is faster and simpler.

So the idea becomes clearer.

We need a bisq alternative that works fast  and simple  like exch.

Every other exch alternative that has a domain name will be gone in the long term.

eXch was by far the most reliable and convenient swapping service to use, I think in shouldn't be compared to bisq.
My opinion is that in the nearest future we won't see any eXch alternative that will be as good as eXch was Cry

There is a swapper aggregator called Trocador. This is very popular in the Monero community to exchange to Monero.

You can also use this to exchange to Solana, Ethereum, Litecoin and stablecoins. This platform will choose the best rates, show you the speed of the exchange and the risk rating of the exchange based on the KYC policy.

https://trocador.app/en/
I am glad that someone has mentioned Trocador! I use this service, it is convenient to compare exchange rates different exchangers offer at the moment I want to make a swap. They also have their own "Privacy rating" that's helpful when choosing an exchanging service.

This unknown and shady Quickex can't be compared with eXch. While eXch is highly recommended, Quickex should be highly avoided. The mere fact that the latter requires KYC means they're total opposites.
By the way, Trocador is where I found out about Quickex. I exchange ETH to XMR quite often, and exactly Quickex offers the best rate for this kind of swaps at the moment. They don't have the best "Privacy rating" though it does not matter too much since Trocador insures the deposit and also helps to deal with any kind of issues that occur during the swap.

Of course, they are not the same. I don't compare them, I say that I've used both and I haven't had any kind of problems so far.

You mentioned about checking of address to guarantee 100% exchange without blocking. As far as user complaints are concerned, they're locking funds. They'll freeze coinjoined and mixed funds. Moreover, subscribing to the idea of clean and dirty coins is a big no for many Bitcoin users.

I am aware of this information. As I said, they probably have to comply with the requirements of their liquidity provider. I get a 100% guarantee that my exchange will not be stopped from them and receive clean crypto after the exchange is completed, that is all that matters to me. If I got it right from reading their topic, they locked funds only with high risk percentage (for example, they won't accept stolen coins). I guess this is made to prevent situations like the one that has happened to eXch, they don't want their business to be shut down.

On top of all this, I guess BestChange even kicked them out. Trustpilot also made their reviews unavailable once for guideline violations.

I don't trust Bestchange too much. There have been cases when the swapping services listed on Bestchange have scammed their customers. Apparently, there were reasons to remove Quickex from the listing. Probably it was because they got too much negative reviews or something. I don't want to defend Quickex, I just say that my experience with this service wasn't bad.

It is indeed sad to hear that an 11 year old swap is getting closed because of authority bullying. I don't understand how a swap can be held responsible for money laundering when they don't even deal with fiat. I mean, authorities are getting overboard with this bullying. It is not the swap's responsibility to stop such actions, as they are mere crypto exchangers. If they were exchanging that for real cash/fiat, then it would be a different scenario.

This sets a dangerous precedent. If swaps are liable for how users use crypto, who's next? Wallets? Miners? It'll stifle innovation and drive privacy underground.

Don't worry, I've got you guys covered.

https://bitmixlist.org/#exchanges

A good list of services you have here, my friend! I've used only two of the exchangers listed here, eXch and Quickex.

eXch is closing soon, so I will consider Quickex as a service for exchanging my cryptocurrency. I came across this exchanger by accident and have already conducted several exchanges, everything is fine. I was advised to contact their support to check my address before the exchange, so they can guarantee 100% exchange without blocking. Apparently, their liquidity provider requires them to accept only clean cryptocurrencies (or crypto with an acceptable level of risk, since mine had a small percentage of risk). I am pleased that in return they send absolutely clean crypto. I hope there won't be any issues with them in the future, in any case I know that they have a topic here Grin

It's been recently announced that eXch is going to stop accepting new orders starting May 1st. I recently found out about this cryptocurrency exchange service, and unfortunately it will stop working soon. What alternative services can you recommend? Please recommend services where I can exchange without KYC.

Re: P2pchange.is - exchange crypto fast and secure!

You're probably in the market for years already. You must have observed and known that it's not uncommon for advertisements to have claims that are either straight lies or at least misleading. Words like decentralized, peer-to-peer or P2P, privacy, safe, cheap, instant, secure, KYC-free, among others are often falsely used.

Just like 99% of exchanges, P2Pchange is guilty of it. You can "exchange without registration or KYC" until you cannot.

I've been using crypto for quite a while already but I don't do it very often. You're right, I completely understand that using this service was a risky thing to do. My greed took me over for a moment and I forgot about safety Smiley I'm glad it all went well for me.

Since you've exerted a little effort checking Quickex's KYC/AML terms, did you do the same with P2Pchange, with whom you had transactions involving significant amounts?

I know, I checked AML policy posted on p2pchange. I was aware that my transaction might be stopped, but as I said I always check aml score of my coins before I send them to exchange services. Anyway, I guess I was lucky enough not to have my coins seized.

@mastertrader_, just being curious, what made you use their service among other very good and reputable ones?

I saw an advertisement for this service on one of the crypto-related websites I visit. They promised an exchange without registration or KYC so I decided to give it a try by swapping a small amount first. I also can admit that I was allured by good exchange rate they promised so I forgot about safety for a moment Cheesy

By the way, just so you know, Quickex.io has a habit of blocking user funds (especially coinjoined funds). Even bestchange delisted them at one point
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5503896.msg65129937#msg65129937.

You should avoid using any service that collaborates with them if you want peace. Check their thread for views from different members
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5503896.

As far as I know, Bestchange is not against transaction stops and KYC procedures when it comes to "dirty" coins. I think a crypto exchange service have a right to refuse participating in laundering coins that were involved in illegal activity by informing their customers about it beforehand. Bestchange faq says the following about it:
Quote
Although the exchangers listed on BestChange do not always have a special icon indicating the necessity of verification, they all are obliged to comply with AML&KYC requirements, according to which they may request a set of documents from a customer, shall their transaction be marked as suspicious. It is recommended to study the terms and conditions of the selected exchanger carefully. AML&KYC policy complies with international practices for anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism. The exchangers listed on BestChange use these procedures to align with AML&KYC requirements but not to abuse customers' data or arrogate their funds.

For more information on AML regulation, please see the AML FAQ section.

I checked quickex, they have AML policy posted on their website so it's no wonder they block transactions if the risk level is too high. The question is, do they return coins after their customer passes KYC or not Wink Have some of you tested how they conduct KYC procedures? I'm curious.

I myself always keep an eye on the risk percentage of the coins I have in my wallet before I send them to a service that have information about AML or KYC posted on their website. I get my coins legally, I think I have nothing to worry about. I am not against KYC in general, but it is something that I don't want to happen to me for several reasons. To be honest, I have never had my coins blocked by a swapping service before (probably I'm lucky Smiley )

I also checked their topic briefly and that's what I found:
We don't block transactions and request KYC on our decision.

Since we work with liquidity of our partners, they can stop transactions in case they detect high risk factors. In such cases, they request KYC. Here, we also work as a middleman and help our clients prepare all necessary documents to pass the KYC successfully. All our AML officers are certified and work according to the Privacy Policy. We also provide a free risk score checking option. We guarantee 100% KYC-free exchange in case our client passes this check successfully.

This explanation seems reasonable to me, at least they are being honest. Probably I'll check their "risk score checking option" sometimes and see what comes out of it.

Was this the exchange rate? ---> https://quickex.io/?send=ETH&sendNet=ETH&receive=BTC&receiveNet=BTC&amount=2
P2pchange.is uses quickex.io in the background, so if they don't respond, you can send a message to the quickex support team to check if the deposit address belongs to them or not.

Wow, thank's for the information! To tell you the truth, I noticed that p2pchange widget for crypto swap did not look like the design of the rest of their website. This whole situation made me a bit confused. At least I didn't lose my crypto and that's what important for me.

I can't also access the site from my end. Nothing surprising, though. Perhaps somebody has sent a big amount of crypto for swapping and, as quite expected, whoosh they went away. I hope I'm wrong.

By the way, did you get your money? Was it a successful swap?

I am sorry, my mistake guys, I meant 2 eth not 20 eth. I received my btc after the exchange but the amount was slightly different from what they showed at first. They don't have any notifications about what kind of swap they provide so that's why I ask. If it's a floating type of exchange they should inform their customers about it before an exchange.

But I wonder why a master trader would use a very young and unknown platform for transactions involving a significant amount when there are other more reputable options out there.

It's just a nickname Cheesy I am not a pro at using crypto actually, but I use it often because it's convenient for me.

You sent 20 Ethereum to this domain? If so, that requires a lot of trust. Is this your first time using the service?

My mistake, I meant 2 eth. They offered a good rate at that moment so I decided to give it a try. I tested a smaller amount at first, it was about 0.2 eth and all went well so I decided to send 2 eth coz the rate was good for me.

I did a 20 ETH -> BTC swap. Rate dropped 0.8% while it was processing. Why no volatility alerts? You just changed the final amount. A heads-up would be great to avoid unexpected losses. Now the site isn't working at all. What's going on?

Dubai's allure for crypto folks stems from its crypto-friendly regulations, tax advantages, and business-friendly environment. The DMCC free zone offers dedicated licenses and infrastructure, while the VARA provides a regulatory framework for responsible growth. Dubai's lack of income tax and low corporate tax rates are highly attractive, coupled with a well-developed financial ecosystem and world-class infrastructure. The city's vibrant business community, luxury lifestyle, and strategic location further enhance its appeal. Did I miss something? Grin
