... I find it rather incomprehensible that the class action did not hire people in the know of the crypto-world. ...

Hello rosmo01,

I sent them an excel-file with more than 2800 transactions.
I put it in a table like they wanted: cryptocoin, date, amout (only this worksheet has 39 pages, it is insane to send this by snail mail)
and additionaly for each coin a extra worksheet with transaction id for each transaction.
Screanshots as of end 2015. I added every transaction with the help of blockexporers for every coin.

And they write me that I did not send them sufficient evidence.

I have also an email from them where they write me that they got the email and all the files.

I am realy angry.  Angry Angry Angry

This is why we realy need bitcoin and blockchaintechnology... You can not trust these people.

Good luck,
Zorro

That is an amazing number of transactions! I hope you didn't loose too much!

That said - it seems they handle the claims very randomly and inconsistently, and I also have now clue as to why they do not tell us what exactly is missing/why the documentation is insufficient! Where is the assistance in getting it right?

And why did their initial claims process accept documentation by email and not anymore? Very inconsistent indeed!

Their initial information states that "account statements" are accepted documentation. Traditional fiat banks do issue that, but in more and more countries only available when you are logged in to the online account, so not sent to your email address of choice - I don't know of a single crypto exchange that issue account statements, so how are we supposed to give them that? That leaves screen shots  as the only remaining accepted documentation. Not a single mention of wallet address and its inherent privacy that only the holder has the private key to, and furthermore backing up the incoming and outgoing transactions. The only problem for me was that I never deposited BTC, so I don't have the Cryptsy BTC address, but the withdrawal confirmation email has a unique and short lasting ID, date and wallet address and amount which can be validated against that address and your transaction history of that said address.

Nothing of the blockchain nature is accepted as documentation, and this is why I have doubts as to their competence. A screenshot can be falsified in so many ways.....

Ok so I just called the toll number, they told me they don't accept videos. + my screen shots of my account were in 2014 and the ones on 2015 are just logins to my account. Should I seek other lawyers in the US who accept videos? I was sure my video was enough I mean why would I take a screen shot if I have a video.

Edit
Is it a good idea to take screen shots of the video even though it was from my phone meaning it's not a screen shot from a PC or laptop?

Resubmit the video, claiming its nothing but frames of screenshots at the rate of 30 per minute which they can pause at anytime to review any single screenshot.

If they still won't accept that, email them every single frame at one frame per email.

Problem is that the submission of the contest of the rejection has to be by snail mail!!! I have contested, but got a reply that I have to reply by paper and envelope!!!!!!

It's just completely unbelievable, and is such an awesome example of how this clashes with the old and new. I find it rather incomprehensible that the class action did not hire people in the know of the crypto-world. That would at least include those who do not have screenshots, but private wallets with transactions to back up their claim, and I also don't understand why they don't accept the withdrawal emails from Cryptsy. It contains information that can be used to see that the destination address has never receive the amount in the confirm withdrawal email.

Most of this could also be handled by signed messages by several wallets ensuring sender/receiver privacy authenticity!

Bleugh - I give up!!!

Guys, who knows how to change MAC address of Antminer? Really need this info, I know how to be grateful...
Not sure what you're saying here? Your IP address? If you search in your router you will find your IP address for the miner. Post that in the "search bar" and it will take you to the Antminer page where you manage your unit. Is that what you mean?
No, I need to change my Antminer's MAC-address, that is my miner's network card address.

Have you tried smsc95xx.macaddr=B8:AA:BC:DE:F0:12 (http://elinux.org/RPiconfig#Network), where the address is the one you want it to be?

I just received Cryptsy Settlement – Deficiency Notice.

I'm surprised as I submitted all available documentation.

Anyone with BTC claim been accepted?

What did you provide as documentation for your claim?

How did you document the BTC account balance?

All I had to work on was my "Confirm Your Withdrawal" emails from Cryptsy, which provide withdrawal amount and address. I assumed that with this mail containing the unique confirmation URI they would have proof of withdrawal attempt, that ultimately failed, as we all know.

My Cryptsy BTC account balance I have no idea how to document.

Does the Notice you received allow you to further substantiate your claim or was it an outright rejection?

I'm allowed to contest the rejection, but what additional documentation can I provide? They have the BTC withdrawal amount and the receiving BTC address which they will see never received this amount. Thus I have lost that amount which I claim.

That's too bad if you have nothing else in the way of Supporting Documentation.

I received my "CRYPTSY CRYPTOCURRENCY SETTLEMENT DETERMINATION OF RECOGNIZED CLAIM" e-mail a few hours ago.

I previously submitted screenshots of my Cryptsy account, a spreadsheet of every trade I did on Cryptsy, e-mails, all the info and pics I used for my level 2 etc.

Now all I have to do is read up on filing the IRS Form  Huh

The annoying thing is that I hadn't used Cryptsy for a very long time - so long that I had to unlock it. I should have taken it as an omen, but convenience over opening a new account with some inferior UI made me push on.

Submitting a screenshot of account is of course great when you have access to the account, but for those who realised the danger after the site went down have no such opportunity.

A spreadsheet is most definitely a must, but I didn't have it in time to include Cryptsy.

The e-mails - do you mean all of them - like "Confirmation of Registration", "Ticket Received", "Successful Authentication", "Confirm you withdrawal" ? How do they prove wallets/balances?

What do you mean by "info and pics I used for my level 2 etc"? Do you mean two-factor authentication details?

Is there any way to find the origin address of a transaction at all? I have the last incoming transaction from Cryptsy, but as I never deposited BTC to Cryptsy I don't know a way to find my Cryptsy wallet address.

One of my L3+ automatically reboots 1-5 times a day.

It appears that only happens when you are on coin-switching pools like niceheash, etc., as when I have them on a litecoin-only pool they do not reboot.

But that doesn't make any sense, as it has not yet left the country of origin. Duty and tax is due when it has crossed the border of the destination country.

This is UPS btw and I am a long time client of UPS, so there is plenty of credit/payment history to back up that tax/duty will be paid. I've received other shipments from Bitmain as well and as per normal I have received parcel and paid tax/duty as per invoice later.

It also doesn't compute that only one parcel has been stopped with this status....

Very strange this....

Got a mail from UPS now and after talking with them it appears that parcels above a certain value have to be pre-paid before delivery - this is new as I've received parcels with much higher value than this one and always gotten invoiced after delivery.

The mail contained excellent payment options, and credit cards accepted, so not really that bad once I got it explained.

One of my shipments has stopped in China with status "Your package is being held for payment of duty and tax". Anyone else had this happen? How was it resolved and how long did it take?

I remember someone mention this is another Bitmain forum, but just can't find it so input is appreciated.

Still waiting for my Aug-Sept order to get marked shipped!!  Get them here and then off to the COLO!!!

Same with mine, still unshipped. Has anyone got their orders marked as shipped?

I ordered two from the Aug-Sept batch, they were marked as shipped today, and they'll be delivered tomorrow. I'll be selling them so I'll have the funds to setup my mining operation before my big order from the mid-October batch gets here, PM if anyone is interested.
What date was the order placed?  The website says FIFO.  Mine were ordered 6/14 and 6/16

Ordered mine 2017-06-09 and got status "Shipping" today, so it's all progressing nicely.

i checked the product count in the first few seconds when it was at 9,998 - safe to assume 10K in this batch

Where do you see the product count?

Anyone got shipping notices on the late Aug batch yet?

I was about to ask the same, as the "Your order is ready to ship" mail received 08.08.17 did not result in any shipment yet....

Instead I was greeted with message that one of their old servers were compromised and I needed to change my password in order to access My Account a couple of days ago.

*What's up with the orders?

When checking my orders (https://shop.bitmain.com/user/userOrder.htm) I get "Unknown error: null" - anyone else with the same or are your orders listed?

It's been like this a few days now and I'd like to check my shipping status.

I notice that the column "the latest shipping time" is new, so it's perhaps only bad code update failing to retrieve data?

By the way you can open etherscan.io on Mist using the browse tool on the upper left and connect your account to it in order to have a direct access to it on Mist's sidebar.

That would be very useful, but I do not see any "browse" tool, nor do I have anything in "upper left"- The uppermost left is the window control, the line below is the menu toolbar, the line below is the wallet menu items.

I've seen many wanting this, so it must be quirky to access. Please advise.....

On Mist (not EthereumWallet) 0.8.10 that you can find on github, click on the blue magnifying glass on the upper left, then type "etherscan.io" on the address line (the one showing "400.html" on the screenshot below).

You can then "save" etherscan on your Mist session by linking to your account using the "connect" button on the upper right.
You will finally have Etherscan shortcut showing up on the left sidebar.

Thank you for clarifying.

This means the wallet is still not providing users any access to etherscan.

The extensive fragmentation of core functions and really confusing UI/UX management makes it necessary for me to withdraw from the mist/wallet bubble, as it is so disconnected from UI/UX best practices and have decided not to re-use already well established functionality in long time standing wallets.

What made it for me was that when or if I chose to install mist, it has no clue as to the transactions made with the wallet app - on the very same computer.

How do I import the transactions from the wallet app to the wallet in mist?

In all other wallets the wallet file/keystore provides all that is needed to see all transactions in the wallet gui.

The missing verification and reuse of exisiting data from wallet to mist wallet is just not cutting it, and I have to rest my case and use my time on wallets actually helping me administering my wallet/keystore and its transactions. This is so fundamental in UI/UX development, and I would accept it in a beta version, but this is just too much. And as the blockchain is now only possible to be synced fully on ssd drives, it is really not going to be long before the chain is so large that I have no real use for it. BTC blockchain is now 132GB and ETH is 60GB, but the syncing of ETH is becoming increasingly hard on traditional hdds, and even on ssds the wallet just crashes now and then. Fortunately the sync is really fast.

Maintaining two apps/code bases is expensive and causes bugs. One app with both functionalities would make things faster and easier. Sometime in the future perhaps......

Thanks for your input, though :-)

Mist on Windows: how to import last transactions and contracts to new host?

I've given up on Github as these reports are never answered/resolved.

I've built a new computer (all ssd) and copied the ethereum blockchain directory tree to the new host and installed mist there. When running mist with the wallet keystore, the blockchain is all synched and wallet balance also correct. But the transactions history is blank and so are the contracts.

With all other crypto-coin wallets I see the same transactions in all my wallet installations, but with mist each installation is behaving as individual, disconnected and unique istances, apart from the wallet balance which is correct.

I don't understand how contracts and transactions are retrieved/stored by mist and why they are not showing up in mist when the entire blockchain and keystore is copied and in sync on local host.

How do I transfer transactions and contracts from one computer to another?

Hi rosmo01.

Did you try to copy Mist's application data from your old installation to the new one (which is not the same than copying the blockchain data)?
You can open the folder where the app data is stored by clicking on Mist on Accounts > Backup > Application data.

You can also have a look on this issue on Github.

If you still don't have your answer, then you should ask on the official subreddit where I'm sure plenty of people are skilled enough to help you.

Thanks for your constructive response!

I considered copying the application data, but dropped testing it as I am not missing application data but account data. But oddly enough the contracts and transactions are stored there and replacing appdata from first install of mist did the trick.

Many thanks for pushing me to test the illogical :-)

Mist is most definitely an oddball when it comes to crypto full node wallets and I must say that it makes no sense splitting account info like this and place account specific information in application data!
I already considered that there was a delta of the account stored locally, but didn't consider copying the appdata as I run a full node with all wallet/account stored in blockchain, and should thus populate a local delta/app cache using the keystore and local blockchain - but my brain is used to the other wallets that are logical :-). Even the newcomer Ansthares/Neo is more logical. Mist doesn't even have a link to etherscan, so completely understandable that new users are using mew and shun mist.

Hey my L3+'s  just came, the customs ask me what is the value of the package?

Did Bitmain write any value on the box or inside it??

Thanks a lot!

anybody? it's kinda urgent, thanks a bunch guys!

You get this question because the value is unclear to the operator, thus you simply send a copy of your receipt from your purchase - you find it in your Bitmain account. It contains USD value and BTC/LTC if you paid with either.

If you do not provide the receipt they will not accept your claim of its value (as they are well aware of people undervaluing the incoming parcels to save tax).
