Re: Is Willow (Google new quantum computer chip) going to kill Bitcoin?
by

The two biggest risks to crypto are 1) government outlaws it, and 2) quantum computing cracks it.

Quantum computing will make all traditional encryption obsolete, all crypto currencies will crash to zero.  It's not a matter of IF the powers that be want to use it to crack crypto, but the mere possibility makes crypto a poor choice as a storage of wealth and the value will plummet very quickly to zero.

It is possible a quantum layer could be added to existing blockchain tech.  It's also possible the coins we own will go extinct and be replaced by quantum blockchain.

Government regulators made a mistake by not killing Bitcoin

The elites have created an inflationary economic prison, and Bitcoin is the door the guards left open.  Keynesianism doesn't work if it's voluntary.  No one wants to pay other people's bills.

We're now witnessing the opening days of a mad rush for the exit that will collapse the old system, HODLers will become virtual kings overnight,  and everyone who doesn't own BTC will become peasants who wipe their ass with worthless benjis.  The maddest thing about this is that it's actually happening.

¡libertad, carajo!

Re: Have you been able to transfer crypto out of Paypal?
by

Are you sure they're one of the cheapest for you? My experience with fiat payment gateway is that they charge a lot when I want to buy crypto, at least internationally. Even P2P offers are better compared to using a card to buy crypto from them.

So Paypal charges about 2% to buy/sell Crypto.  Coinbase charges ... 4% to add money, 0.4% to buy/sell?

Update: I'm still not able to transfer crypto from Paypal to a wallet, but I was able to transfer money into coinbase for free via my bank acct, and trading fees are about 0.6% on CB.

Re: China getting ready?
by
telesnake

China works with long term plans and has goals to achieve. There was a US intel that suggested 2027 is the year China attacks Taiwan. That could be true or maybe the CCP is more flexible on time if the conditions are met or not. The more the west tries to isolate China, the quicker it would move towards the attack.
There are still hopes in China that there would be a peaceful reunification but I don't see that coming as the young people in taiwan are against it.
When you build up military hardware and spend a lot of money on your military, you are expected to get some results. It's not about whether but when would China attack.
I think 2028/29 would be a much better period as that would be another huge election year and as messed up the US and European democracy is, they'd be in dire conditions by that elections.

This shit again?  There is no year in which China will attack Taiwan, because China is weak and physically incapable of such an attack.  NATO is licking their chops at the opportunity to fuck China up.  Just give us an excuse.

Why are there so many bots and low intelligence posters on this forum?  Clearly most of what was written in this thread was written by the same poster who struggles with English and/or using ChatGPT to create poorly worded and inarticulate content.

They have been preparing for several years, but I think they will attack Taiwan sometime. But that's their business.

NATO would tear China a new asshole just like we tore Russia's hymen in half.

There are few suitable landing sites in Taiwan, all of them easily defended by steep mountains.  Turn off the TV idiot box and learn something sometime.

He hasn't even taken office yet.

If Trump doesn't dramatically reduce and reform the government, I will be sorely disappointed.

Trump is unique in that, unlike Dems, he isn't beholden to the elites.  You should be cheering the fact that he won, because it's a loss for the corrupt establishment.

19 years of formal education here (including 5 years in university), and I don't think I ever used any of it beyond 8th grade math and writing for a job.

While it must be a privilege to learn from the greatest professors (though in some cases they're not so great), most information is available online now, so uni ain't worth the cost unless you're rich.

With 100 applicants for every white collar job, diplomas and certificates are just ways to sort through the masses of overqualified people.

In the US military you have no rights, no privacy, probably will end up doing a mindless menial jobs on a domestic base, the food sucks, the coffee sucks, it's run like a mindless corporation.

Not sure about Israel.  I thought they were remorseless sociopaths reporting in recent surveys that Israel was the happiest place on the planet.

I sounds more reasonable to me Xi is getting ready to start a military operation on Taiwan and recover the island for it to be completely under the control of the CCP.

No.  If you know anything about Taiwan, you'd know that there are few suitable landing sites on the island, all of them easily defended by steep mountains.  Invasion would be impossible for a clown force like the PLA.

Also, I don't see Trump being friendly to China.  His shtick is peace through strength.

I don't believe flouride is bad for you in small quantities, but I do believe people should have a right to choose.  Nothing turns me off more than a tyrannical bureaucrat with a PhD on the wall dictating what is best for you.  If you want flouride, you can add it to your own water.

Re: Stop fucking calling those pigs who went to college 'educated'. It's offensive.
by
telesnake
on 08/11/2024, 02:49:58 UTC
College has caused a decline in the job market. And it does not help when colleges are so fucked up that no reasonable person takes them seriously anymore. The only thing college students know how to do is vote for the mentally inept Kamala Harris, complain, scream and make violent threats in class, and delude themselves into thinking that they know something when they really don't. College students are the worst people. They do not know how to apologize or recognize when they are wrong or when something is fucked up. They don't know math. And they do not know how to manage money or else they would not be in college getting so much debt for no reason at all.

Regards,

-Joseph Van Name Ph.D.

I hear ya, man.  But like regarding the "college kids don't know math".  The truth is, there are almost no jobs that require more than 8th grade math.  Kids are learning college algebra, trig, calculus, stat, discrete math, and it's a joke cause you'll never ever ever ever use any of that in a job.  They keep insisting how important math is, but is brainwashing.  I think I used trig once in my whole life, and not even for a job.  Calculus, never used it.  I suppose math would be useful if you wanted to teach math, but what's the point of teaching it if no one uses it?

Re: should it be illegal to use certain types of animals for experiments?
by
telesnake
on 08/11/2024, 02:43:47 UTC
There might be a place for animal research, but sadly it's become just a way for medical quacks to pad their resumes so they can claim to have coveted "lab experience"

Some of the dumb experiments they run involve torturing animals, such as burning them alive, sometimes hundreds of subjects, to test how they respond to burn creams.

The first step of some of these experiments involves removing the animals' vocal chords so lab techs don't have to hear their screaming.  Speaks for itself.

I think Musk will be a distant advisor.  He has too many businesses to run, too many conflicts of interest to take a cabinet position.
