RX 400 SERIES ARE SELLING OUT--
If you can buy a new RX 400 series card, you are lucky. I do not have any RX 500 series cards, but they currently sell for less than a same-level RX 400 card.
On the other hand, R9 280X cards can be bought used for much less (1/2 price?). They have a wider bandwidth, and perform well.
I am sure that RX 500 series cards will be optimized before the Vega cards reach the market. Expect a price drop then.
I have a rig's worth of R9 280X cards on the shelf. I'll likely use them again before selling them. --scryptr
the 7950 (the one the 280x rebranded) are even cheaper.

Hi, I also have a xfx 280x model and I would like to update this bios, can someone give me some tutorial on how to do this ?? Grateful.
My rig show only GPU0 and GPU1 temp and fan, i have 2x 7990, under win 10, already tried all from catalyst 15.12 to 17.1(used ddu), tried all sort of config command(-asm 0, -tt 75,75,75,75 -wd 0).
I'm worried because i used the command -ttli and -tstop to protect the rig, but that seems to affect only gpu0 and gpu1, already see gpu2 and gpu3 get to 100 celsius....

Here are the results after a few years, still very stable.
Basically the 7970 and 280x are faster or just as fast as a stock r9 290.
I had to revert the r9 290 back to stock clock since it started locking up at 1050/1450.

You should download a special program, the best is usualy from the manufacturer of your GPU card.

It's a well known overclocking tool and it offers many possibilities how you can set up your graphic card.
You can change voltage, frequency and also what you are looking for - custom fan profiles.
