Some Security Tips

Hello everyone,
I had tons of security problems when I was a beginner. One of my exchanges got hacked, lost my 2FA code - my phone broke down etc. etc...
I want to write down some of the security stuff I use for my cryptos!
If any of you have corrections, additions or other suggestions to my safety actions, would love to hear them.

https://www.internations.org/guidelines/safety

1- Never ever use an exchange without 2FA: Even the hardest passwords can get hacked easily. If you don't use 2FA you can get hacked... Yep I got hacked - my Bibox account, took hours to block the account, half of my earnings were lost. (it wasn't more than 50$, thank god...)

2- Never ever use the same password for different accounts.
Yep, I got hacked! Why? I was applying for several airdrops, you guys know that nowadays some of them require signing up to their websites. And what have I done? I used the same password and email I used for the Bibox exchange.

3- Writing down your password rather than saving them on your computer is a better idea. I have a small notebook which I keep my passwords.
I also have a word document which I save some of my private keys, it is a locked document - not so safe I know...

4- Always keep your 2FA code or barcode before scanning. If your phone breaks down, you will loose all your 2FAs... It can take 2-3 weeks to activate your exchange accounts.

5- MEW, IDEX login: I never copy and paste my private keys to login these wallets. I prefer Metamask login, not 100% secure but much better.

6- My browser preference: I don't like chrome very much. I prefer to use Brave browser to access my accounts. *It doesn't support Binance. Brave also has Metamask extension.
AND A GREAT UPDATE: Brave has it's own BAT wallet which ables you to earn while you surf. Firefox is my second choice.

7- Phising sites: I always bookmark my exchanges. Also before clicking the email links, I always check the url, I never click if it is not a "HTTPS". I also use WOT extension on Chrome to check if the link is safe or not...

8- KYC issue: I prefer not to do KYC for airdrops or bounties. If their database gets hacked, your passport can end up in Dark web. For exchanges, I always try to use my Driving License instead of my passport for KYC (some of them only accepts passport :/ )

9- For airdrops I use another email. Don't want my original email get spam mails and I want my exchange email to be safe.

These are the ones I remember so far...
Safe days you guys!

What You should no most about fees Transaction
by
Black susano
on 21/08/2023, 17:04:32 UTC

1. What are transaction fees?

Transaction fees are paid when cryptocurrencies are transferred to another wallet.

Processing transactions on the blockchain takes effort — and these fees are used to compensate the miners and validators who help keep things running smoothly.

Transaction fees can fluctuate based on how busy a blockchain network is, and they can also be flexible. A user who wants their payment to be confirmed urgently can choose to pay a higher fee so miners are incentivized to put their transaction at the front of the queue.

These charges are fixed on most cryptocurrency exchanges, but users may have the option to adjust fees when using certain wallets.

2.Why do transaction fees exist?

They were initially introduced on Bitcoin as an anti-spam tool, but they turned into one of the most essential attributes of a blockchain.

Initially, transaction fees had the sole purpose of deterring malicious actors from overloading the Bitcoin network. Satoshi Nakamoto, the cryptocurrency’s pseudonymous inventor, was inspired by Adam Back’s hashcash system, which relied on a Proof of Work (PoW) system.

About two years later, Bitcoin developer Gavin Andresen noticed a source code rule that required a minimum transaction fee of 0.01 BTC — that would be an eye-watering $137 at today’s prices.

Back in 2010, this fee didn’t seem like much of an issue. But as time passed, with Bitcoin’s dollar value rising and demand for block space increasing, people realized it was too expensive — especially for those who wanted to send smaller amounts of cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin developers updated the network to omit that rule, and increased the block size through the SegWit2x upgrade. Now, transaction fees can be much lower than 0.01 BTC, and they have become an essential part of the network’s health.

Other blockchains, such as Ethereum and Ripple, also realized the importance of transaction fees and adopted similar strategies to keep miners motivated.

3. How do transaction fees work?

Fees incentivize miners to prioritize transactions with higher fees and add them into the next block.

In the case of Bitcoin, all pending transactions reach a so-called memory pool (mempool) where they wait to be picked by miners and included in the next block. If the mempool is full, miners select transactions with higher fees and leave the rest for the following block. That’s why many crypto users are keen to manually increase fees when their transaction is urgent.

On Ethereum, transaction fees are measured in gas — small fractions of ETH. This blockchain offers more sophisticated features than Bitcoin, such as smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps), so the fees play an essential role here. However, there can be downsides, especially if a crypto user adds an inadequate gas fee.

In the case of Ripple, there are no miners generating new XRP coins, which is one of the reasons why the transaction fees are next to nothing.

So… what about stablecoins, such as those pegged to the U.S. dollar? Tether doesn’t charge transaction fees when funds are being transferred between two USDT accounts, or any two blockchain-based wallets that are capable of storing this digital asset. However, there can be costs when USDT is being converted back into fiat.

4. How do blockchain networks and their transaction fees compare?

Usually, blockchains that can handle greater numbers of transactions per second have lower fees.

Today, there are dozens of popular blockchain projects that charge different transaction fees. A simple rule of thumb is this: the higher the network’s throughput, the lower the transaction fee.

For example, the standard fee of a Ripple transaction is 0.00001 XRP as of today, and it peaked at over 0.40 XRP for a very short period in 2017. Considering that the price of XRP is below $0.25, the fee is negligible.

On Ethereum, transaction fees are higher and can surge during congestion on the network. This happened in 2017, 2018 and in mid-2020 during the DeFi craze. This August, fees hit an all-time high — and the record was broken again a month later. Some people were quoted fees of $99, prompting speculation that some protocols would begin to seek alternative blockchains. On Sep. 1, ETH miners pocketed profits of $500,000 in a single hour. Demand for transactions has become a big problem for this blockchain, but it’s hoped that a long-awaited upgrade to Ethereum 2.0 will deliver a better fees system. Ethereum’s co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, has expressed concerns that high fees could encourage selfish mining practices.

As for Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market cap has also seen a considerable increase in the price of transaction fees this year. They were under $1 in July, surged above $6 in August, and breached $10 at the end of October.

Besides Bitcoin and Ethereum, other blockchains — including Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Cardano and Ethereum Classic — have much lower fees of below one cent on average. Tron has even lower fees, similar to Ripple.

Elsewhere, ILCoin also has infinitesimal transaction fees, and it relies on a PoW protocol inspired by Bitcoin. Each block on its blockchain can handle millions of transactions, as opposed to the 2,000 transactions that are included in a typical BTC block. This allows ILCoin to maintain unnoticeable fees — and the company says this comes to 0.0124 ILC for every 10 million transferred. Unlike Ripple, which is a more centralized payment network, ILCoin is decentralized and relies on the RIFT protocol.

5. What factors contribute to transaction fee sizes?

The two main factors affecting fees are the size of a transaction, and demand for block space.

Given that some networks can only contain a limited amount of data in each block, miners or validators are restricted on the number of transactions they can include.

When there are many users sending crypto funds simultaneously, demand for block space increases, and there are more transactions waiting for confirmation.

Sometimes, demand for block space can get so high that networks experience congestion, and fees surge to unsustainable levels.

Larger transactions require more space in the block and take longer to validate than smaller ones.

Re: The World of Possibilities: How Crypto is Changing the Way We Think About Mo

"Cryptocurrency and the Future of Money: How It Is Changing the Way We Transact." https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/cryptocurrency-future-money-how-changing-way-we-transact-fatima

As I sit here in front of my computer, typing away at my keyboard, I can’t help but marvel at how much the world has changed in just a few short decades. When I was a child, smartphones, social media, and virtual currencies were nothing more than science fiction. But now, they’re an integral part of our daily lives, shaping the way we communicate, work, and even think.

Of all the technological advancements that have emerged in recent years, perhaps none is more exciting than virtual currencies. To think that we can now conduct financial transactions using digital tokens, without the need for banks or other intermediaries, is truly mind-boggling. It’s as if we’ve entered a new era of commerce, one in which money can move freely and seamlessly across borders, with no restrictions or barriers to slow it down.

However, I am aware that not everyone shares my excitement about virtual currencies. In fact, some people might not be aware that they exist or understand how they work. If you're reading this and thinking, "what's the big deal about crypto?" then you might still be a nocoiner.

But that’s okay. Everyone has to start somewhere, and I’m here to help. So, let’s get to the good stuff and see how crypto can make my financial life simpler and more convenient. Keep reading to find out!

1. Online Shopping

Personally, when I shop online, I prefer using virtual currencies simply because I don’t have to worry about sharing my sensitive financial info with anyone. And the best part? Crypto transactions are super fast and have low fees, so I can save a ton of time and money compared to traditional payment methods.

2. Micropayments

Oh, and here’s another cool thing about crypto that I love: you can make super tiny transactions, aka micropayments! Since virtual currencies can be divided into many decimal points, you can easily send or receive even the tiniest amounts of money in a jiffy. This is a game-changer for buying stuff online, like music, movies, or subscriptions. No more headaches dealing with old-school payment methods!

3. Financial Freedom

I’m all about that financial freedom, and using crypto is one of the best ways to get it. With crypto, I’m in control of my own wallet and private keys, so I don’t have to worry about third-party institutions messing with my money. This is especially important in places where traditional banks can be sketchy or unreliable.

Using crypto gives me way more control and flexibility over my money, which is super cool. I feel like I'm taking charge of my own financial future and setting myself up for more stability and independence down the line. Plus, it's just way easier and more convenient than dealing with all the red tape and hassle of traditional banking.

Final Thoughts

All in all, I truly believe that using crypto has been a life-changing experience for me. The perks are simply way too many to ignore. From increased privacy and security, to faster and cheaper transactions, to greater financial freedom and independence, crypto has transformed the way I interact with money online.

And the best part? I know that there are still so many more benefits to discover and explore as crypto continues to grow and evolve. Whether it’s new use cases for micropayments or innovative ways to store and manage my digital assets, the possibilities are truly endless. So if you haven’t yet jumped on the crypto bandwagon, I highly recommend giving it a try.

Thanks for reading this blog! I hope you found it interesting and learned something new from it. It has been a pleasure to share my thoughts and ideas with you, and I’ll catch you in the next one!

The Good and Bad of Crypto Banking 🤔
by
Black susano
on 21/08/2023, 13:02:48 UTC

[quotes]
You see, 2/3 of the 30 largest global banks support crypto trading through exchanges. But is this really good news for us? Well, let’s see.

PRO'S
More access and exposure to crypto assets.
More security and trust.
More innovation and competition.

CON'S
More fees and restrictions.
More surveillance and control.
More dependency and risk.
So, there are both advantages and disadvantages to using these banks to trade crypto assets. It depends on what you value more: convenience or freedom? Security or privacy? Innovation or stability?

"Cryptocurrency Explained With Pros and Cons for Investment" https://www.investopedia.com/terms/c/cryptocurrency.asp

Personally, I like to have options and diversity in the crypto space. I use these banks for some of my crypto needs, but I also keep some of my crypto assets in my own wallet or on a decentralized platform. That way, I can enjoy the best of both worlds.

What about you? Share your thoughts.

Some recommend books that can be used to learn crypto hi
by
Black susano
on 19/08/2023, 23:05:47 UTC

Hey crypto fans,

What are the best crypto books and podcasts for newcomers looking to learn about the subject?
Here’s a list of some to help you quickly scale the learning curve.

Crypto books

* The Bitcoin Standard (Saifdean Ammous)
If you're looking for a well reasoned argument for Bitcoin, read the Bitcoin Standard.
Regarded as one of the best cases for Bitcoin it analyses the historical context, the economic properties and future implications.

* Mastering Bitcoin (Andreas Antonopoulos)
Mastering Bitcoin is one of the most comprehensive and thoughtful guides to what Bitcoin is, who might use it and how it works.
Great for anyone thinking about it from a coding perspective or simply wanting to see under the hood.

* The Infinite Machine (Camila Russo)
A great insight into the origins and history of Ethereum written as a narrative focused on the characters, their motivations and the drama,
rather than technical details. If you like Michael Lewis (Flashboys, The Big Short) you’ll love this.

* The Price of Tomorrow (Jeff Booth)
Jeff Booth's book isn’t explicitly about crypto, but he clearly had it in mind presenting a compelling argument
for how deflation is the only sensible route out of the mess that fiat money has landed modern economies in.

* Where does money come from? (Josh Ryan-Collins)
Crypto is described as the antidote to uncontrolled central bank money printing, but what does that really mean,
and where does money actually come from? Read this book for an answer that is fascinating and surprising in equal parts.

Crypto podcasts

* What Bitcoin Did
Peter McCormack has developed one of the most listened to Bitcoin podcasts by combining an engaging, relaxed style with great content.
He isn’t the most technically sophisticated, which is why the show works so well for newcomers.

* The Pomp Podcast
Anthony Pompliano, commonly known as The Pomp - is one of the biggest cheerleaders in the Bitcoin space.
An aggressive crypto advocate, his style isn't to everyone’s taste, but he pulls no punches and is fully invested.

* The Breakdown
Approaching 100 episodes, Coindesk’s flagship podcast, hosted by Nathaniel Whittemore,
provides a daily cross-section of the biggest stories in crypto, deftly mixing up short 15 minute daily bites, with interviews and long reads.

* Unchained
Running since 2016 ‘Unchained’ is one of the oldest and most respected crypto podcasts out there.
Laura Shin has great journalistic pedigree, as the first mainstream reporter to cover crypto assets full-time.

* Bitcoin Fundamentals
Preston Pysh hosts a collection of Bitcoin focused podcasts within a wider network of investment related content.
Actively managing a portfolio, Pysh takes a deep dive into the overlap between macro economic issues and Bitcoin.

This is just a short selection, there are plenty of others.

Criteria for Evaluating Potential Cryptocurrencies for Investment in the Market:
by
Black susano
on 19/08/2023, 22:42:42 UTC
 1. Technology: Technology plays a crucial role in determining the advancement and superiority of a project. New blockchain projects or improvements to existing blockchain platforms are often considered potential opportunities. For example, Cardano (ADA) and Polkadot (DOT) have gained attention for their advanced blockchain technology. However, it is important to note that technology does not guarantee absolute success, and detailed research on the project's technology is crucial.

👉 2. Tokenomics: Tokenomics refers to the economic factors related to the project's cryptocurrency or token. Considering the total supply, token unlocking schedule, token utility, token allocation, and decentralization in token ownership are significant. A project with sound and attractive tokenomics can create stability and potential price appreciation for the cryptocurrency.

👉 3. Market capitalization: Market capitalization is an important factor in evaluating the size and value of a cryptocurrency. Coins with large market capitalization often have more reputation and higher liquidity but may have lower growth potential. Conversely, smaller market capitalization coins may have higher price appreciation opportunities but come with higher risks. Considering market capitalization helps assess whether a cryptocurrency is overvalued or undervalued.

👉 4. Utility and Application: Evaluating the utility of a cryptocurrency project is crucial. This includes considering the industry focus of the project and the target user base. If the project's utility is low, it may lose value due to a lack of user interest. Some practical applications of blockchain projects include decentralized finance solutions, NFTs, online gaming, and the metaverse.

👉 5. #DevelopmentTeam : The #DevelopmentTeam  plays a vital role in ensuring the success and growth of a project. This includes the experience, expertise, and vision of the team members. If a project has a reliable #DevelopmentTeam  with long-term commitment, it can increase the likelihood of success in the future.

👉 6. Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborating with other companies, organizations, or projects can bring significant benefits to a cryptocurrency project. Collaboration can involve technology development, expanding the user network, or building new applications. Additionally, having reputable and positive interactions with partners can increase the project's chances of success and expand its reach.

👉 7. Industry Competition and Position: Evaluating a project's position within the industry can help assess its competitive ability and growth potential. Considering competitive rivals, differentiation, and competitive advantages of the project can provide crucial insights into its ability to penetrate the market and attract users.

👉 8. Socialization and User Community: A large, positive, and supportive community can drive the development and widespread acceptance of a cryptocurrency project. Socialization involves community participation, social media activities, events, and other interactive engagements. If a project has a strong and positive community, it can create momentum for the value appreciation of the cryptocurrency and enhance its development prospects.
 - I hope my post can help you make the right choice in the market

Hello my fellow country people. As e be like this for Naija, people don dey think go the direction of bicycle o. If you reason am well, bicycle make sense wella. Na better excise and untop of that, e no dey use fuel and na small money you go use dey maintain am. Those of us wey grow up for village where bicycle dey like benz go fit relate.

Just as motor get types and class, bicycle too get levels. But the good thing be say you you go fit buy bicycle as your pocket reach. With as little as 30k you go fit buy bicycle even though fairly used one and this will save you plenty transport.

I know say risk dey for bicycle too especially for busy cities but because of the small speed of bicycle, accidents no dey kill like motor and okada accidents.

My people how una see am?

This poses a question. Why does a country that currently ranks as the country with the most people living in extreme poverty (according to the  End poverty organization), turn out to be so dependent on drugs? According to a UNODC report, Nigeria ranks as the top user of opioids in Africa and the third-highest user of opioids in the world. See world rankings here.

Another report by the UNODC shows that over 14 million Nigerians use one form of opioid or another, and have the most level of prevalence in the world as of November 2020. This number is projected to increase rapidly if the situation of drug abuse in Nigeria persists.

I been here am for news say, the head lines been follow say this two people wan seat do meeting, but apart form that talk, you think say no be Dangote be the major problem of Nigeria food issues because from my own point of view dem no suppose da go meeting with man, if I go ask which kain discussion dem wan do with dat business manny that is serving his own interest.
But mak we caring chair seat think this matter well since dat time wey Obasanjo sell dis country giv Dangote na since then everything com tak change, price of consumable goods nor gree com down again
This matter just get as e be self

I understand the frustration for this post but Dangote dun really try for Nigeria and African as a whole oh, shey you know say dat man for fit carry him businesses and wealth commot Nigeria like most of the other business man dey do and our politicians wey dey steal from us to empower other countries. Dangote for fit dey like dem but him no gree leave Nigeria instead him dey invest him money here steadily. See as nobody gree reason build private refinery since but Dangote dun stand and run am. That man dey lose money steadily as him dey always drop for list for the richest man in the world due to the economy of Nigeria yet him no stop him investment here.

You know how many people Dangote dey give job so, the country bad na just the fuck up and Dangote get business to run so as economy dey worst him need balance am with increase of his product so him fit generate money pay him workers world wide. You no go expect billy gate to come Nigeria and him no go discuss with the richest man in Nigeria and Africa with the president. E no get anything wey dem wan discuss to spoil Nigeria. Na always for the betterment of the nation. If e get one man wey get Nigeria for heart na Dangote so no put blame on am, direct am to the government.

(OP) well that is from your  own point of view ohhh, because why I been rise this topic na because say them hold am dey carry curd oils enter other countries like the man they do byepass use sell curd oil for about 13 years
Just think am no be this country support get high level in gas but no the man wan use sense for the country
