Re: Does Aliens exist?

No, i not believe it, no one even witness for now, maybe i will change my mind if someone can proof that aliens is exist. Their existence still gray, you need more evidence to make me believe.

I don't see that humans have any need to explain their existence to ants so why would THEY do it for us?

Ok. But it's more complicated than that. An argument can be made that we would be able to see something. Find some evidence of aliens. Either them moving around in their spaceships or enveloping every star in dyson spheres or whatever. That's probably what we would do considering our understanding of physics and how the universe works. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZFipeZtQM5CKUjx6grh54g/videos this guy has some great videos about all that. But in short you have to consider that for what you said to be true, aliens would need to know a lot of new physics we don't know about. And they would all need to agree we are not worth talking to. Maybe not likely if there are many alien species out there. Also it's not that we wouldn't try to talk to ants if we could. We just don't know how to.

Trump is a brilliant politician. He made the strike after consultation with Assad and Putin, and he hit the chemical factories that were being used by the the US funded rebels ( the Globalist army ). To understand what is going on, you need to think about political motivation, and try to read behind the news.

I think you are reading too much into it. Trump brilliant? Come on.

Re: Robots vs Human Who gonna Win in the Future;

on 10/04/2018, 06:15:53 UTC
Some people think that robots will affect human life, and even those who think that robots will fight people. We like to think about fantastic things, I think robots can not be compared with humans. When the energy sources of the robots are exhausted, they all become unusable. People's energy sources are very wide.

That can't be right. There is a reason robots have been replacing people and taking over jobs. Cheaper to operate robots and pay the electricity and maintenance costs than pay a person to do the job. As robots become more efficient that will get worse even when the person is only paid a slave's wage.

The war has already been started out by capture of human employmentss by the damn robots

Not a bad thing in itself. We should let automation happen. No point in having people doing jobs that robots can do better or doing jobs no one needs. What we need is a society that takes care of everyone with the abundance automation brings. Instead of concentrating that wealth in a few hands as happens now.

Roll Eyes
in my city the juvenile delinquency rate is becoming, and this worries parents, what should parents do to their children to reduce the level of mischief

for those who become parents I need your opinion

Here are my suggestions:

1. Treat anyone who commits crimes such as murder and rape as adults, irrespective of the age.
2. If a minor is committing a crime, then punish his parents as well.
3. Take out awareness campaigns in areas where there is a high incidence of juvenile delinquency
4. Send repeat offenders to penal colonies
5. Sterilize parents of juvenile offenders.

Nothing else? Maybe kill everyone involved in the crime as well? Then nuke the city just in case?

Where are you from? I would say improve social mobility. Give them chances to change their social and economic situation that don't involve crime. Improve education and access to it. Implement measures to reduce inequality.

Yes, see: Fermi paradox.

How does that work? You are justifying your belief in aliens based on a paradox about how we can't see any and totally should if they existed. At least if aliens were anything like us in the way they developed.

certainly they exist. But I believe that the governments of the countries know a lot about them, but they are hiding it from us. It is possible that they even contact

Possible. But then the aliens wouldn't be very interested in making sure the population knows about them. Because if they were the governments wouldn't be able to stop them. Especially if it was aliens with spaceships and not only a distant message of some kind.

Re: Is Ripple the currency of the future?
by

on 02/02/2018, 06:07:07 UTC
I'm pessimistic about that. Yes, Ripple gives faster and cheaper transactions, even heard that it was conceived as early as 2004. However, unlike Bitcoin, it was originally used by banks as a transaction network. In other words, this is a centralized cryptocurrency. I think, this is one way for the banks to compete with decentralized cryptocurrencies. Btw, ripple cannot be mined and the creators have complete control over this token. People wants to get away from centralized currencies nowadays. Once cryptocurrency enters it's ripe stage, bitcoin will still hail as the king. why? let me spell it out: B L O C K C H A I N.

It's not even the blockchain technology itself. Ripple and other alts can use the same technology or find some other solution. The problem is what you said before, ripple is completely under the control of the developers and a few handpicked validators. Blockchain in their case is little better than a centralized database. And that is what people are moving away from. From having to depend on banks, governments or others to dictate who can use their services. With whom we can deal with. And under what conditions we can do so.

It is not like what you always see in the movies. Robots are possible in the future but humans are not that dumb to create something with any countermeasures on it. We might we careless sometimes but we learn from it and will not let something we created to mess us up.

Problem is if creating an artificial intelligence becomes easy enough in the future that a lot of people can do it. If no specialized hardware is needed even worse. Because not everyone will have the same standards when doing it. And besides carelessness some will want ai for the purpose of messing us up. The military will use it as a weapon. Others may want to use it to cause chaos. Sort of a doomsday weapon.

Re: Poll: Is the creation of artificial superinteligence dangerous?
by
Gronthaing
on 25/01/2018, 05:56:28 UTC

- AI superintelligence poses a threat to the existence of the human species, so we should go for that since the human species is overrated anyway

If you had kids, you wouldn't write that.

As far as we know, taking in account the silence on the Universe, even with all our defects, we might be the most amazing being the Universe already created.

After taking care of us, AI might take care of themselves, ending up destroying everything.

Actually, this might be the answer for the Fermi Paradox.

Could be that it happened to some civilizations out there. But all of them? And they always create several competing ais and the ais always destroy themselves? Seems like the ais would have a sense of self preservation for them to fight each other and replace their creators. So it would only take one being able to maybe escape off world from the fight or out think the others for us to be able to see signs of it somewhere with enough time. Because if it has self preservation it will probably want to expand and secure resources as any form of life would.

On this topic, been seeing some videos from a channel you might like: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZFipeZtQM5CKUjx6grh54g/videos Has a lot about the fermi paradox in the older videos and some about machine intelligence and transhumanism as well.

Re: Muslims projected at 7.4% to 14.0 of the EU population by 2050
by
Gronthaing
on 20/01/2018, 04:14:32 UTC
Well if people in those countries want to be Muslim, what does it matter? As long as they keep laws in place for the democratic majority of the country the religion of individuals shouldn't matter.
It just doesn't happen that way. In certain areas of France it's generally understood that 90% of the crime is from the immigrant populations. Muslims will insist on having Muslims for their elected representatives if they can vote. The local governments will become Muslim. Then the larger regional governments will begin to change too. They form their own small communities where their customs are enforced. What you say just doesn't happen. They put their religion and customs above the law to the extent that they are able to.

Are you complaining that they use the democratic system to vote for the person they believe best represents them? How dare they. Why don't they become apathetic like everyone else and stop voting? You know. So that nothing changes.

ethereum in 2 weeks went from a mere 770$ to 1400$,
it actually doubled it self, and now most of the major cryptos are facing corrections do you think ethereum would reach 2000$ or would it again stabilise around its previous value?

Today is when eth forks right? If people were buying in hopes of getting the fork coins, the price might actually drop. Doubt it will go very far though. Maybe closer to its previous value around $800.

In my opinion  XRP will be bigger than btc and etherium.
Btc too slow too expensive
And etherium too slow and toooo much of an attack vector trough one persons cult Wink
Praise lord vitalik, but not when he threatens to leave, right guys...right? Shocked
XRP -Universal currency!

Ripple is good coin but when they says it's a banks coin, I thought this is not decentralized so I'm not investing to this ripple. Ripple can't bypass bitcoin and ethereum to be the first money in the future.
Lol tell me how many tps etherium and btc can do
Also tell me about the fees Wink
And tell me how long it takes to transfer them

Might as well advocate for people using paypal if that is what you care about. High tps, fast, low fees, and fully compliant with regulations and government pressure. As for how many tps, fees or whatever bitcoin can do, let's talk after the lightning network is here.

Ripple can not be the crypto currency of the future. The future is behind decentralized crypto-currencies, and not completely centralized and manageable, although this coin itself is very useful in the banking system. However, let her work there. It should not be extolled among other crypto-currencies, because it does not meet the criteria of decentralized crypto currency.

https://ripple.com/insights/top-9-frequently-asked-questions-ripple-xrp/

5. Is the XRP Ledger centralized?
This is a top misconception with the XRP Ledger. Centralization implies that a single entity controls the Ledger. While Ripple contributes to the open-source code of the XRP Ledger, we don’t own, control, or administer the XRP Ledger.

Ripple has an interest in supporting the XRP Ledger for several reasons, including contributing to the longer-term strategy to encourage the use of XRP as a liquidity tool for financial institutions. Decentralization of the XRP Ledger is a process that started right at its inception and has been ongoing since. In May 2017, we publicly shared our decentralization strategy.

First, we announced plans to continue to diversify validators on the XRP Ledger, which we expanded to 55 validator nodes in July 2017. We also shared plans to add attested validators to Unique Node Lists (UNLs), and announced over the course of 2017 and 2018, for every two attested third-party validating nodes that meet the objective criteria mentioned above, we will remove one validating node operated by Ripple, until no entity operates a majority of trusted nodes on the XRP Ledger.

We believe these efforts will increase the XRP Ledger’s enterprise-grade resiliency and robustness, leading to XRP’s continued adoption as the best digital asset for payments.

You honestly bought that bs? Or rather, are you hoping anyone buys that bs? Such decentralization, with those 55 validating nodes shared between ripple labs and their hand picked partners. And while ripple labs pretends the ledger isn't centralized, it also controls over 60 billion of the total 100 billion xrp. Guess what happened when one of the founders tried to sell his 9 billion xrp share? Other than the price plummeting that is. Ripple labs decided they didn't want him to and froze his coins. They can literally freeze transactions they don't like. And if that isn't enough they can also stop the entire network with their "global freeze functionality". Doesn't get more centralized than that.

Me thinks ripple is future.
More decentralized tha  bitcorn and etherium together  Smiley

So you've said. Repeatedly. Too bad that doesn't make it true.

What are they good for? Easy. Increasing the number of bitcoins people have. Make sure to wait for the inevitable pump first before selling.

I know it takes time to wait for a technology to mature, but it does not help if I choose the wrong coin. Where do you see the potential of this coin?

Nothing you can invest in right now but one of the most promising coins coming is grin. The people working on that decided to build their own coin instead of integrating it with bitcoin directly or as a sidechain. It's based on the mimblewimble protocol and focuses on privacy and scalability. http://grin-tech.org/

I have read several articles claiming that Charlie Lee sold all his lite coin. If this information is correct, then maybe litecoin will not be developed anymore. I think the value of it will go down

He did sell his litecoin but not because he is abandoning the project. Or because the project won't be developed anymore. He said recently that he did not want to be accused of influencing the price for his profit with his tweets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Geiwb63nMYw Don't know if that is the only reason though.

They probably do. I think there are two possibilities: either life is so rare that in order to spawn from seemingly nothing you need a whole host of viable circumstances such as being in the Goldilocks zone, massive amounts of time, and a whole lot of luck etc., and so it has only occurred in one place (Earth); or life pops up everywhere it's able and the universe is teeming with life (perhaps even on moons such as Europa).

If the latter is true, then as for why we've encountered none or any signals is because space is vast, much more vast than many think or can imagine. Our signals haven't barley even traveled any distance yet!

True. But where are their signals then? Where are their spaceships? If life is so abundant it probably first appeared long ago. Long enough for some aliens to explore and expand throughout the universe. But we see nothing like that. Maybe the dark forest has it right? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Forest Or maybe aliens are already here: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/16/us/politics/pentagon-program-ufo-harry-reid.html if this isn't just another way for politicians to funnel money into their rich friends' pockets.

On the other hand is asking where the alien spaceships are like asking where their horses and carriages are?

More like, alts are being pumped while bitcoin is consolidating. It's always the same thing and there is nothing special about this pump or litecoin. Doesn't matter much who appeared where. Although it helps that litecoin is one of the few alts in coinbase. But expect a dump once bitcoin gets moving again.

Re: Does Aliens exist?
by
Gronthaing
on 05/12/2017, 05:16:40 UTC
Why not? Problem with believing aliens inevitably exist out there is that there will be all kinds of them. Those that would avoid us and those that wouldn't. For whatever reason we might not even understand. As for ways to travel between stars we can already think of some. Generational ships for example. May take a long time to reach the destination but should work. So maybe the question is why haven't we seen any of them yet?

Because we live in a redneck area of the solar system. We're BFE. There are areas of the solar system where the distance between stars is much smaller. A generational ship would turn to dust before ever having reached us. We can't even solve our most basic problems, what makes you assume that aliens are any better at it?

Same reason. If life is abundant, some of it somewhere probably figured it out. And then add to that how long they could have existed before life on earth appeared. Aliens could have had a long time to figure it out and spread almost everywhere. Or become extinct and give way for others to do it. And by the way, if the generational ship could reach even a small fraction of the speed of light, relativistic effects like time dilation could help a lot. The ship and the crew would experience less time in transit than the distances between stars might suggest. Also it's galaxy not solar system.

I know this is crazy base on what people post at the Internet now a days.

•Do you actually believe in aliens?

Basing on people's posted video I would say yes what do you think guys? I hope I am not just the one who believes in aliens.

Anyone who doesn't believe [intelligent] life exists other than on planet earth is an idiot or religious (thus, an idiot). With the number of stars and planets revolving around them.. The conditions for life to emerge will inevitably occur.. For the religious people, I like to ask.. "Why did god create the entire universe if the only space that would be actively used by his creations was Earth?".. It's grandiose to suggest that (if god is real) he created an entire universe for a single creation on a single planet, in a single solar system.

The better question is, "have aliens visited earth?".. Now, that answer is debatable. You'll get everything from 'no, just secret government projects, no aliens' to 'lizard aliens control the governments'.

Who's to say that it's even possible to travel from one solar system to another in a timely manner? And, if it is, and an alien race is capable of doing so... Why would they care to visit some backward redneck planet at the edge of the solar system filled with self-indulgent, self-important bigots?

How do I cast the vote pls? Can't seem to find a link or something.

Newbies can't vote. You will be able to once you reach some higher rank.

We are only at the beginning of the Gender-Era, and 71 genders are nothing compared with the thousands still to come. The only limit to gender is imagination.

These people are mentally challenged and they must be put in to mental asylums immediately. I have personally met some transgender people in my life. And the case is exactly the same. They are always insecure about themselves and they suffer from attention grabbing disorder. The LGBT lobby will make you believe that this is not a mental disease, and simply a form of lifestyle.

Put into mental asylums immediately? Why? What great danger to society do they pose that they must be removed immediately? Lot of people here criticizing others for their choices. But not a lot justifying why they want to limit the freedom of others.

Re: Do you agree in death penalty?
by
Gronthaing
on 07/11/2017, 06:05:13 UTC
Rapist for example shouldn't get the death penalty, they should get in jail forever and not like german jails, more like north korean jails or something.
Murders should get the death penalty but not just a shock. They should pay more for their actions tbh.

Pay more? Isn't dying enough? Or what do you want to do, torture them before killing them? That's revenge not justice.

death penalty is the only way to prevent people from committing a crime.

Don't think it has much effect in preventing crimes actually. May depend on the type of crime though.

But at the same time, I do not understand how it is possible to give such a huge amount of money for the maintenance of a person in prison until the end of his days, and this can be dozens of years. It is difficult to say how best to proceed. I would offer hard work in exchange for the death penalty until the end of the days of the guilty. Let him pay his debt to society, work, than he will just sit for many years.

If due process is followed and people allowed to pursue all legal actions before being executed, executing criminals costs more than keeping them in jail until they die. If they can't do that, more innocent people would be executed by the state. And that already happens often enough.
