Securing and ensuring that our information isn't leaked should be so that others don't use It against us. It's never a defense mechanism that we should adopt just because we are fraudulent.

Maybe you have a totally different understanding of my post.

Every website out there promises your data or information protected including this forum but in the privacy page they advice you to be the first person to protect yourself.

In the aspect you are talking about, what it means is that outside this forum if you happen to be a target or in a criminal related activities and the world is in quest of you, if they can't find your information else where they can come here and request from the admin just to track you down. This part is where you must keep yourself safe first, you may not be the criminal but stolen details can be used and then you get involved in what you don't know hence you're now a target will be given out without much consideration.

In today's world information leaks has been a very difficult issue to be tackle or handled by website or socials that we give out informations to protect us, we have witnessed several hacks leading to informations people's information being used on the DarkWeb for activities that aren't speakable.

Hence protecting our information should be part of our top priorities not just here on the forum but including every where we find ourselves using the internet, especially our social media accounts. (This forum seems more secure with our informations but however if you commit a big crime that is way beyond the forum internal control the admins wouldn't mind giving your informations to the right authorities) however, we are advised to keep some information more secured by ourselves. If you care to know more about the forum privacy terms you can read them here: https://bitcointalk.org/privacy.php

Enhance your information protection through the following;
1. Be careful what you share online; like I have said above be careful of informations you give out online, some websites have access to you deep information as soon as you accept there terms and conditions (TAC) or terms of service (TOS), you can read the documents provided by any sites before signing up, I know we have the habit of skipping terms and conditions but it's very important we read them, a good percentage of people don't usually read them but I employ you to start reading them if your privacy conscious.

2. Adjust your privacy settings: After reading through this thread you can adjust how you set up your privacy settings, it helps in keeping scammers away and other stuffs. Not everyone should be able to see your informations. Like in this forum you can hide your email as an example of privacy settings adjustment.

3. What you post matters: in this forum and any other place whatever you're posting is very important to you and the world at large, you could implicate yourself or anyone with what you post, so be extremely careful what you post and things you don't post.

Here in Nigeria, some of our people do not value privacy so they post whatever they see, currently getting a VISA to a country like the US and some other countries, they use high techs like Artificial intelligence to look in to your socials and see the kind of things you post related to their countries and can use that to deny you visa.

5. Use secured medias or avoid them totally;
Some of us here use telegram without adjusting our settings, it's very bad because since we just crypto groups on telegram and other socials to get informations some times scammers join those groups hence messaging you or sending unsolicited DMs come from there, so you can chose who can send you messages and how, that helps a lot to secure you from unsolicited DMs.

I hope you find this useful and use the information in this thread vitally!

Re: Balancing Financial security and Bitcoin Accumulation
by

There are likely even guys here who have been stacking bitcoin for  several years, and who might feel that their progress is slow, yet part of the challenge is to keep stacking even during times that the BTC price is going up... and each person has to figure out how to deal with how to keep stacking and dilemmas regarding the extent to which they might hold some cash in reserves for buying on dips... dips that may or may not end up happening.
you have said right, however I agree with you more that even though one has some funds kept to buy the dips there is no guarantee that the dips will even happen, so what's best is to keep stacking up whilst hope the dips happens some day which one could grab the opportunity to buy more, having the benefit of buying in discount. Its also good to plan to buy the dips, buy lump sum but best buying gradually and consistently which is more likely to be referred to as DCA.

Be careful of any website that you use frequently or you're using for the first time, there have been occasions of cloned websites but it's not been taking note of most of the time.
Quote

If you go to codeacadamy.com you can learn how to clone websites for free and this has raised alarms for people in Nigeria as hackers or scammers have used this opportunity to create fake web domains that look exactly like the usual website using them to compromise your devices and get informations or hack into your accounts.

Bank websites are the recent victims of this clone websites in Nigeria, for example Ecobank, United Bank of Africa etc, I brought this up because I know we use this banks or our families do so we have to educate them to be very careful before visiting a website.

Here is an example of how this works.
1. They use acrylic alphabets like (ãåáâàā, ìîíï, úù, óòøō, éèēêë), in place of real alphabets in a place where it doesn't look obviously to users hence we consider it legitimate without second thoughts.

2. they use this type of strategy in a popular website that people visit regularly, like Amazon etc, for instance they use spell Amazon.com like this Amázon.cøm or something similar.

In conclusion let's be guided in website that we visit.

Edit: As expected, they didn't say anything about capital funding and will likely use the program as an opportunity to max-extract funds from the economic treasury and use < 10% for actual training lol.
Normally me I go call this one Ponzi scheme but not the regular one but a special type of Ponzi only government officials can do.

As we know our politicians dem go surely get untold plans to cyphon all our money out for pocket. Infact I no sure say this thing fit even pass the approve of red chamber because those men dem Sabi something and some of them dey for us while some na same people.

Re: Gambling ads become part of daily life

Gambling is a game of choice, and this ad didn't just start now; I still remember when my father went from one coupon shop to the other.
And how the board ads were kept outside, but not even one of my brothers gambles. Or know anything involving it.

I understand the negativity involved in the method of the technology lifestyle we are in right now and how all these celebrities make it look effortless and make people gamble.

So it's left for parents to start educating their kids on gambling.
Everyone has the choice of choosing what's best for them.

Re: Does football Statistic/ History work?
by

on 22/05/2025, 18:54:43 UTC
The history and statistics of a football team work, but the history of a coach should be studied, and never doubt it too.
And this is not just about the statistics; it's involved with the effort and how intact the teams are.
And then again, i don't believe what the coach said about his history being the reason for this win.
Man U has been back for a long time now; even Brighton is more informed compared to this big team . Just assume he made this statement while meeting with a stronger team. Do you think it would have just happened? Nobody fears Man U again, you know; even their history isn't saving them.

Re: Motivation to gamble affected by age?
by
NurseHub
on 10/05/2025, 18:53:20 UTC
It's important to know that it's not only the young ones who still desperately gamble for money.

If you work for a casino company, you will understand that even those retired old folks are gambling for money.

Especially those who could not meet up to build enough wealth for their older age.

This thing of gambling is about the individual and not a matter of age.

Young men can be more inclined towards sports betting , social influence, online ads, peer groups, or the desire for quick money.

While elderly men gamble locally or in lotteries to increase their income, which isn't enough for their daily spending, too? But 60% of older men also do it for fun and passing the time.

Another thing about gambling in old age is, addiction that's follows you from your youth... It's hard to see someone who doesn't gamble in his young, then gamble at their old age.

I saw a topic that says, "Who says BTC has no future "

Then a known man called Eugene Fama was mentioned as one person who doesn't think BTC has a future.

This topic made me remember something that happened last year.

I am a businessperson that deals in cash and has a good relationship with the tricycle riders around my business area.

Most of these people give me cash to deposit for them, while sometimes I ask them for the cash.

There was this Hausa man I spoke to about cash; his response kept me mute and questioning.

I told him to give me his cash at the end of the day so I can help him deposit it. For a good saving method, which I think was actually the best for him.

His response was, "I don't use banks."

How? Why? How do you manage your finances without saving them in a safe space...? He smiled at me and said, I know how to manage my money. I don't like banks because of their wahala, and I can package it down to North.

I was surprised, but that's the truth. He is actually living his life without believing the bank is the best place to save his money. While more than 90% of the people around him believe the bank is the best, he is living his life as free as he wants.

So people believe in what works for them.

People still go around  believing in bank compares to BTC
Without the knowledge that BTC can help them become as free as they want, just as this man carries cash around.

Cash is deflationary, and BTC is increasing in price.

Its their opinion, because everyone has one or two they don't believe on even if 70% of the people sees it as the right thing.

Any thing that involves finance is a personal decision and I don't believe in conveniencing any one to join it.
Well you can give out your testimony but it's left for them to accept it or not.

I believe the Eugene Fama isn't the first person to see btc in that pespertive , many others have done that but still regret it.

If I'm reading a thread with large number of pages it appears that the forum is lagging or slower than normal.

Sometimes I use a browser like Operamini it had this same slow response so I switch browser and it starting functioning properly.

Again, I experience this again but then it was a result of FlushDNS so it's good to clear your browser CACHE some of this happens because of that.

Damn, El Salvador is about to become the USA's Global prison for non American citizens.

Like Guantanamo Bay, but bigger and cheap.
Especially the Mexican cartel members in US prison.

That's the actual reason for the meeting and not bitcoin as reserves even though it might slides in at some point of the discussion which may be private for now.

I'm reading this thread but I'm irritated with this walls of quoting, do you guys here find it funny to accept such quote as the one above?

Sure I agree with JayJuanGee, having an emergency funds and/or extra cash flow helps you through the journey of bitcoin investment. if you are caught up in an unforeseen circumstances you can ease yourself out through this emergency funds and still have your bitcoin not touch or tempered with that's the major reason it's encouraged.

My own point is once you set a goal and achieve it set a bigger one, but that doesn't mean I hold my bitcoin till I'm no where to be found on earth, but I could also leave something behind to help my children if need be but not mandatory.

I'm a professional nurse I know what it means to keep ones health, I agree with you a 100% plus if I could. people don't realize how much important their health is untill they find themselves in a bad position. you can do two jobs to acquire bitcoin as long as it's within your strength but don't add extra because you want extra bitcoin, instead cut down unnecessary spending.

Re: do you still a consider yourself a normal person if gambling is your only hobby?
by
NurseHub
on 26/03/2025, 20:01:10 UTC
It can be a way of keeping himself busy because outside is expensive and there is comparison everywhere.
So to avoid all this, he prefers staying indoors; it's understandable.

But then what's addiction? It's using something to the point where it could be harmful to you.

For now it might not be addiction, but when he keeps doing it, daily turns to weekly, weekly turns to monthly, then yearly, and finally he can't associate with anyone but just his gambling.

Someone said as long as he is just doing 1% of his income...my dear, from just doing that 1%, he will graduate because that's the only place he has fun, so he can do more to keep up his fun standard. It will turn into an addiction with time.

My advice is for him to add some other things, maybe learn things online like YouTube while avoiding outside things.

El Salvador was buying bitcoin at very good price buy I think they will have to buy this dips now that bitcoin is making decreases every now and then.

I love the fact that this country took the bold step to do well for themselves too it shows how much trust the government of has in bitcoin which is an added advantage to the community.
