Oh, look WoF are working again when the price of FUN is high! Coincidence of course... the hardworking devs finally fixed them, right? Now when the FUN price drops below 7 sats/FUN the WoF will still keep working, right? right?

They said the free spins were removed due to problems but that makes no sense.
They never explained why they no longer credit WOF spins for holding FUN tokens.

It was removed because the bitcoin price got too high and it was too costly for them to keep those up.
No, it has nothing to do with bitcoin price.
The rewards they give through WOF spins are always adjusted to bitcoin price.

When they launched WOF spins, the base rewards were 50 satoshi, 50 reward points and 50 lottery tickets. Now they are 12 satoshi, 12 reward points and 12 lottery tickets.

When they were first removed in July, they claimed technical problems. You can see the posts here.
For a while they kept bringing them back for like a day or 2 at a time and pausing them again. Eventually they just stopped.
The other free daily spins that we get on email are also not as regular.

Maybe its not the bitcoin price. Maybe its the FUN token price that is too low. They probably decided that the investment needed to make in FUN to get so many free spins is actually too low for the benefit you get.
And thats probably true. Just be clear about it and stop advertising services you dont provide

What seems to be the trigger is the FUN to BTC price, when it goes below 6 or 7 stas per FUN they stop providing the WOFs iirc. The WOF do scale with the bitcoin-fiat price (at fist it was fixed, then they realised their mistake!), but apparently they didn't decide to scale them to the FUN/BTC price... which they could fix, but I bet there is exactly 0 (zero) developers actually working  on the website (there are other unaddressed banal issues, like, for example, the logout button doesn't work or the side bars in chrome don't get displayed).

how the hell are they going under during such a bull run if they had anything in BTC they should be flush right now.  It doesn't make sense. did they not buy anything when it was low? Did they completely mismanage their portfolio?

Companies that deal with BTC usually go tits up when the BTC skyrockets. Why? Because the people managing the funds think they are smarter and sell the BTC for other investments, when the BTC skyrockets and their investments don't, they get caught with their pants down as suddenly they don't have the money pay back their users: they go bankrupt. Remember those companies that gave out huge interest on BTC like Celsius, Hdoldnaut and such? Most of them got obliterated during the previous bull-run.

I had faith this wouldn't happen with FBC because it looked like they weren't doing any side investments, but just keeping most of the BTCs stable. I liked that they seemed to operate only in BTC and not in fiat, avoiding completely the risk of sudden growth of collapse of the coin. Things changed this year, and now it's a real possibility they just invested in something less performing than BTC (like FUN lmao) and are now in the process of getting caught with their pants down.

Wait. Are you saying that they sold BTC to buy ETH and/or FUN tokens? Or that it was withdrawn, since the difference between the $114M and $10M is very large. It could also be that they have a lot of bitcoin at addresses we don't know about, as bitcoin withdrawals, with all the delays and problems there are, are being processed, meaning that from somewhere they are being paid. The bad thing about this is how mysterious it all is, and that no one will show their face or give an official statement. I think they are holding the ship as long as they can until it can't hold on any longer and sinks.

We only know what we can see on the blockchain, because, despite their promises, FB hasn't provided a proof of funds in years.

-Way back they used to have a normal BTC cold wallet. TheQuin used to provide proof that they had control of that address (can't be fucked to search the exact post, if you dig in my posts you might find it). That address is now empty.
-Another user found a multichain portfolio that fit the amount of BTC FB claimed to have. That wallet used to have BTC (WBTC to be precise iirc). Some of those were then converted to interest bearing ETH, and then it was mostly emptied in July towards an address that I previously judged to be of of exchange. This address now holds 3.4M FUN of the supposedly 5.8M FUN tokens locked through the website.
-Right now we have no idea where the rest of the money is.
-They have a system of hot wallets that makes it hard to trivially check where the funds come from (I think I described the system in one of my previous posts, but again, I can't be bothered to look it up right now). But if someone has expertise into digging though the blockchain automatically it could be an easy enough thing to check. If anyone is interested I am happy to share what I know right now.

I previously had compiled a recap of recap, it seems like the situation hasn't changed much (except for the fact that WOF started to work again a ~month ago and then stopped again). You can look it up here:

There have been a few recaps of the situation so I present to you The Recap of Recaps:

I have no BTC on the site rn. I can't trust it as I used to.

Published data about the liquidity of the site showed me that <...>
Can you provide a link to where you got this data?
If I'm not wrong, then he was referring to two old posts. One of those were pointed out by me (on June, 2024). Freebitco team had worth $114 million assets (in different crypto) on their FUN token wallet address. Freebitco had converted the BTC into ETH of that address in the same month. It was pointed out by another forum members (check here). Then we had noticed that Freebitco team was taking out the funds from their wallet address. Now it has worth $10 million assets, which is mainly in FUN token.

Yes, I am pretty sure I am the user y'all are referring to.

Before this whole kerfuffle, I used to collect the data that was provided to us in the STATS page of the website, which used to report the total of the user savings (could have been completely fake, but it was something) which was around 1100BTC and growing with my last reading on 22-Sep-2023. Instead too estimate the number of active users the method is to literally look at number of users that participate in the weekly lottery (you can find the .zip file on the twitter feed of Freebitco.in).

Right now there seem to be around 297k users down from 397k in May-24.

Wow, now that I check the numbers freebitco.in really has lost a lot of users in a few months. I can't fathom that they are letting the site going downhill this much unless something big happened (maybe even something physical happened to wetsuit).

I was actually a bit more positive about freebitco.in lately given that another user pointed out that the WOF only restarted once the FUN price was high enough:
[...]
As I pointed out a month ago, it is not broken, it is deliberately taken offline every time the price of FUN drops too low.
[...]

This makes sense and if this were the case, and they came out and said so, I'd actually trust freebitco.in MORE since it shows that they are doing things deliberately and not fucking up for months on end... Are they too deep in the lies now? I'd honestly give them a second chance if they come out and say that FUN and WOF was a complete failure and that they were removing the whole premium system.

I sort of remember TheQuin making a similar point about lowering the WOF rewards further since when the WOF came out the winnings were fixed at 50sats IIRC! But they soon corrected their mistake.

I could really appreciate some news, information, gossip, whatever.  Thanks. Shocked Cry

There have been a few recaps of the situation so I present to you The Recap of Recaps:

Here's a recap on what I gathered of the Freebitco.in situation:
  • People got hacked and their deposit/withdraw address manipulated.
    • The costumer support replied with: "nah bro, everything is fine, we thoroughly checked, must have been the wind a virus."
  • TheQuin, which used to be the official costumer support of freebitco.in for the longest time, disappeared leaving the site without support for months.
    • The costumer support said that he's now focusing on the fun part of the business (fraud prevention) and that they are hiring a professional team
  • There were hiccups where withdrawals and emails wouldn't go through for a couple of days.
    • The costumer support disclosed that it was an issue with their mailing servers and that after giving it time to clear the backlog everything would return to normal.
      • Everything did in fact return to normal.
  • Somewhere among this this thread got flagged as "high risk".
  • The new user CSFBC appeared and declared that he was now taking care of the costumer support, the professional team is here, ready to restore the law in this town support and assist with all your questions. (These guys use extensive boilerplate and corporate speech in their messages. Is it and improvement over the frequently overly rude TheQuin messages? You decide!)
    • The costumer support hasn't commented since the 20th of June, after two whole days of hard work, they at least seem to be alive logging in at least once a day.
  • The cold storage wallet is still not officially disclosed, but a community member found this multichain portfolio, whose bitcoins didn't have much movement for ~a year until a couple of days ago. A good portion of the BTCs seem to have been converted to interest bearing ETH. (Is it an investment play? Are they risking our deposits? Nothing bad with a "side-hustle" with all that cash, I would just love some transparency)
    • The costumer support said that he would look into the status of upgrading the wallet system.
  • People have reported not receiving the free Wheel Of Fortune spins despite holding FUN tokens on the website.
    • The costumer support didn't comment on this
  • The "logout" button a the top right corner doesn't work and probably hasn't been working for a while. It feels like the website has no developers behind it, and it's slowly falling apart...
    • The costumer support didn't comment on this

I'd like to also point out that the address is now empty of either Bitcoin or Ethereum.

They seem to have been funnelled to this address which seems to be the crypto exchange Bybit. They are cashing out?  Huh
I am republishing the updated list with feedback so that everyone has a complete view...

This is the current situation.
1) Currently what works:
- Points and Tickets every Faucet Roll.
- Spin Wheel, credits all types of prizes (Satoshis, Points, Tickets, etc...).
- Satoshi Bonus in faucet roll (for those who have it active).
- % extra interests per satoshi (over 30000) available in the account, if you have the Premium active.
- Decrease % of Bonus Faceut advancement for each Spin Wheel played.
- Dice Game.
- The Daily Jackpot of the Dice.
- Points credited every 500 satoshis played in the Dice.
- Tickets credited every 500 satoshis played in the Dice.
- Elegible or Selectable bonus every Wagers Volume completed in the Dice (in the Dice game section).
- % of Bonus Faucet advancement every Wagers Volume completed in the Dice.
- % cashback of wager volume, if you have a Premium activated.
- Locked FUNTokens that do not unlock even after the period expires (sometimes they unlock late)
- Slow Withdrawal.
- Deposits (credited on site at least 24+ hour(s) later).
- Subscription email, with news and 1 free spin wheel.
- Site Blog (still updated https://freebitco.in/site/blogs/)
- X (Ex Twitter) news update (https://x.com/freebitco).
2) Currently what does not work:
- Daily Wheel Spin credit if you have the Premium, based on membership adquired.
- Instant Withdrawal sometime don't work (other yes).

If anyone knows of any other features on the site that are not working or have stopped working, please let everyone know.

At the moment there are no communications from the staff or owner of the site to know if the features will be reactivated (and when) or if they will be replaced by something else, so everyone will decide what to do.
+New Freebitco.in issue unlocked: "Sometimes deposits aren't credited"

My (old) assessment of their whole business:
[...]
3LaNNTg87XjTtXAqs55WV5DyWASEZizCXZ is one of our hot wallets we use for payouts. The other is 329koRvovTyNnd4ADrpR2uJHzXxfvKxta5.

When you deposit to us we sweep funds greater than 0.00050000 to 1Fu3iBR2EMQWeYGi3XvrPmcPUkne8ZWj9h
There is currently 229 BTC of dust deposits that haven't been swept.

That address then either funds the 2 payout hot wallets or sends it to cold storage at 3CZM2Y6AqieFZE1RAbvXYi7hExx1zSb5R1

It is when that wallet is used to fund the hot wallets that the change addresses are used. (eg. https://btc.com/35e79400c98284bf52ea791dbefb6efe38b6d32d7353eab2a239a7ff7b2c17fe)

I have compiled a list of good and bad things about Freebitcoin that are of concern from the safety standpoint. If it's not already clear, I am judging their trustworthiness more from the point of view as the website being a "BTC savings account with a casino attached" rather than the opposite.

The bad:
  • The addresses quoted above are now empty, I haven't seen any other proof of address posted anywhere
  • For quite some time now (at least ~October 2023) the STATS page of the website is broken and doesn't show anymore the active users/funds held by freebitcoin nor the amount of BTC bet/won. I seem to remember that they used to also provide the last website deposits and payments that they sent, are those features broken too?
  • Somehow (thankfully) they are still avoiding KYC regulations tightening all around the world, which probably makes them completely invulnerable in case something bad were to happen to the funds!
  • The whole FUN endeavour seems to have been quite a flop and development has stalled (I know FUN and fb aren't the same thing, but they seem heavily involved/exposed)
  • The website on the EARN BTC page still says that they are using Trezor rather than Ledger as in the first sentence of the quoted text above (it's a nitpick, yes, but if that is wrong, what else is?)
  • The site seems to still be run by only two fully anonymous people (wetsuit and TheQuin)
  • Except some recent outliers the weekly lottery tickets numbers seem to have been steadily decreasing, is it sign of a diminishing user base?
  • Despite the bust of most other crypto interest-earning websites, they still offer a very solid 4.08% on the deposited BTC, which is upgradable through Premium to 5.1% for what is now very little money, compared to when FUN first launched: around 2.5k$ (it was around 15k$ when Freebitcoin+FUN was announced).

The good:
  • It seems like that most things are automated
  • They seem to operate directly in BTC (thus avoiding volatility of BTC vs fiat)
  • They have good house margins and good betting mechanisms
  • Only two people (wetsuit and TheQuin) seem to have access to the funds, which makes them more strong against internal theft
  • They have been around for a long time
I still mostly trust Freebitcoin only because of these reasons, but being more transparent about how the funds are managed should be a priority given the anonymity and likely complete legal immunity that they have managed to keep.

CSFBC hasn't been online on this forum since 19-08-2024.

Multiple times the support has said that they are working on the issues, but don't believe there is a single dev that knows the system and is working on it.

This website used to be the pinnacle of transparency, you were able know how the website was doing monetarily, you were able to check that they had the BTC in custody, TheQuin would talk to you straight and, hell when the website sometimes went down TheQuin would come out and say how the issue was a specific thing X in database Y, etc... but is now the opposite...  I'd classify putting BTC in this website as "HIGH RISK, DON'T DO IT".

I've had an account here for several years and this has never happened before, what should I do?

I've requested instant withdrawal more than 3 hours but still no BTC received.
Has anybody encountered it also?
There were no issues with free btc before.

Hey, this is a casino with custom bets, right? I have a hunch and I'd like to bet on something... Can I bet that the only web and backend dev that "The Internal Team" has is TheQuinn and is right now on vacation or otherwise undisposed, and so there is actually no one looking into the many issues of the website? I'd bet big on that! Can the house please add that bet to the roster?  Thanks Grin Grin

I have top tier premium and no WOF for weeks. I do also not have any BTC on the site right now (because I fear for their safety) and so I might not actually count as a "real VIP".

In regards to upgrading the wallet system, I am looking into this and will get back to the forum with a further response after review.

Are we going to get anything that resembles a "proof of reserves"? Can we know how and/or where are the deposited user funds stored? Was the wallet system upgraded?

I am on IOS so no virus..and yes the profile address is the same as the deposit address I never changed it since I’ve opened the account several years ago and never got a single problem and now even the site is not working anymore

IF THE WITHDRAW ADDRRESS IS THE SAME AS THE DEPOSIT ADDRESS, YOU/THE WEBSITE ARE BEING HACKED. THAT ADDRESS IS FAKE. IN CASE YOU RECEIVE THE EMAIL DO NOT CONFIRM IT!!

Can you check from your bitcoin wallet app that the address is actually an address you control?

The default address when I made the account was the same address of the deposit one and I didn’t change that on the profile address..now it won’t let me do that and everything which requires to receive an email like change password or enable 2fa etc.

I am sorry, but by deposit address you mean the address you use to deposit money INTO freebitco.in? How could you possibly have made an account using that address (which would have not been known to you before making the account)Huh ?

If you notice now that the deposit and the withdrawal address are indeed the same it probably means that the website is being hacked again (or if you believe the freebitcoin PR, your computer is compromised: it has a virus). Tell me, does that address start with a 1, a 3, or something else?

At this point, I suggest you enable the auto withdrawal and wait until Sunday.

I do receive on the profile addresse but is the same as the deposit one so it’s no use for me and I cannot change that address it won’t let me

You seemed confused enough that I am getting confused too. I mean the bitcoin address.

When you made your freebitco.in account you needed to use a bitcoin address, which presumably links to a bitcoin wallet that you have access to. That is the "profile address". The option to withdraw from to your profile address appears when you click "WITHDRAW", then click on the blue text that says "use profile address". Using the same bitcoin address as the one you registered on the site with will not trigger an email confirmation, but automatically send you your BTC.

If don't have access to the address of the bitcoin wallet you registered with, then that's a problem and you should not withdraw to that address.

In any case it is not possible that the deposit address is the same as the profile address (unless you/the site are being hacked again??).

It's at the right side of your balance on the top bar of the website. It's not written "log off', but there is an icon with the same meaning there.
