To me trading 3BTC with no escrow is a bit much to trade for a first time with no trust.
Also why not meeting in a public location for neutral ground? Going to someones private space does feel dodgy.

I'm sorry I can't help but clown on you guys. I feel like none of you have ever left your homes. If it's so dangerous to go outside and trade bitcoin because someone will rob you at gun point, the area you live in is just too dangerous to live in full stop and you have bigger problems.
The thing is people see Bitcoin as an investment and it mostly related with rich people, if they know you're a Bitcoin holder, it's mean they define you're a rich person. If Bitcoin already reach the global adoption and they know not always a rich person can own Bitcoin, that's when discussing Bitcoin is safe. It's like we already know everyone has money, they have phone, car etc. Crime is everywhere especially on a third world countries e.g. Nigeria and India.

I have an issue with physical meet ups, especially when buying and selling Bitcoins. It's the security of the assets. You don't know what kind of person you are meeting, they could be a robber or thief and by meeting them you are putting a bullseye on your back. You basically become a moving bank.
I had a friend get robbed similarly sometime back. They let him trade successfully, paid the money, but then later on trailed him and told him to give them back the funds on gun point.

Nah mate its just a really simple social meetup. Just a group of dudes with beers in our hands chatting about crypto and seeing if anyone wants to trade something and negotiating it in real time on the spot. Everyone who wants to trade will have a hot wallet on them.

If you know enough people in the P2P trading community weather online or in real life, there's no need to be completely beholden to centralized exchanges.
A decentralized exchange can connect you to buyers and sellers instantly, you don't need to physically seek out strangers to trade with.Is there a booth stand I can buy a hardware wallet?
Be very cautious when buying hardware wallets from retailers and random people at events. They are delicate devices and should be gotten from legitimate sources.I mean sure you technically can, but it's ok to leave your house and get sunlight. I am the most paranoid person on the planet but i swear you guys are just nerds. There's other things you can do in person that you can't do online like exchange physical things in person and vet someones character. Some of the p2p trading partners I've had a hundred trades with I can just send them $1000 by mistake and they would send it right back.
