1. Dey discipline when spending

Discipline is still one of the factors that can enhance a successful bitcoin investment, because if you not discipline maybe in your spending habits or any unnecessary engagement that makes you spend money it can affect your investment target.

2. Find works wey you fit earn in bitcoin or convert to bitcoin

I will say it very is rare seeing a job in Nigeria that you can earn in bitcoin, because since bitcoin has not been officially signed into law  you hardly see it, but regardless you can always buy as much portion of bitcoin as you want with your physical cash (naira).

As a newbie that is new in the game all you be craving for is to know more about what you are about to put (invest) in your money and how can you do that is by making your own research online, linking up with experience bitcoin expert to learn more from them. Secondly,

Have it in mind that bitcoin is not a get rich scheme or a fast money making machine that you can just jump in and get wealthy over night,  due process must be observed step by step, you must know the basic format and techniques when investing in bitcoin.

Most importantly, always invest with your discretionary funds (cash left after all bills been settled) so that you wouldn't be fasle to temper with your investment when financial issues arises.

Yes. Getting Bitcoin will only get more difficult because of the price, and adoption, over time.  However, if Gavin and others like him did not do what they did, Bitcoin would probably not be where it is now. That is now part of Bitcoin history.

But imagine if you were part of that early history and you actually used Gavins faucet to get some free Bitcoin, do you think you would actually keep it to this day?  The honest answer for most people is probably no. You probably wouldn't have seen it as a future goldmine. More likely, you would have: spent it, lostit or completely forgotten about it.

You are very right sir, most things happen to pave way for a better tommorow, every single days that come all we grave and  pray for, is for things to get better than initial however, what we should be more concerned of now is on how to accumulate more stash of our coin other than channeling more energy on the past.

Secondly, no matter how high in value bitcoin goes or reach, there will always be more investors to invest in it with the help of the DCA method.

Re: Is It Safe To Keep Crypto On Exchanges??
by
Yablee0
on 24/07/2025, 16:38:59 UTC
A friend who just started using crypto asked me if it's ok to have his Bitcoin and USDT on Binance or other exchanges for a long time. He was worried about safety, government issues, and whether it's better to move his crypto to a personal wallet.
Honestly, I didn't have a clear answer for him, so I thought to ask here.

Do you leave your crypto on exchanges or do you move it immediately?

What risks should people in Nigeria consider when deciding?

Is there any safety to use for exchanges or wallets?

I believe, your advice will not just help him but others here too who may have the same question.
My brother, leaving your hard earned money or assets in an exchange is like leaving your valuables in an open space which automatically anything can happen to it without no body to be heard responsible . However, Make sure you transfer your funds to your non custodial wallet to have your peace of mind and to avoid story that touch.

The problem I don observe with plenty people for this space be say them too dey do follow follow and na wetin dey mostly put them for wahala. E get the time I make one post where I suggest say seed phrase memorization fit dope for some people wey get very sharp memory and even if them dey use alternate storage methods, say this memorization fit really comes in handy for some kyn situations. I talk this thing based on wetin I think, and although plenty people disagree with this idea, some people even call me names and plenty things, but Baba, because something work for others no means say e go also work like that for the next person, na why e dey important to always exermine your situation critically before you make any decisions, make you no go do Follow follow go enter one chance.
The mata be say,.must people even follow others do wetin them the do, just as you don talk am we supposed know wetin go work for us before we decide wether we go do am or not, I just believe say some people just dey confused and because of that them come back direction on wetin them go actually do, baba for the thread wey you create, if I been write their, I for no agree with wetin you talk but wetin I no go do na to call you nemes but I for tell reason why me I know accept such idea even though you fit say em go fit work for some people, baba make i tell you something, no matter how you smart and sharp e get time wet Brian the nock temporarily and if this thing happens, nothing you wan do to remember anything at that time, so e no easy but as for follow them, me I know dey that one.

You no go blame we way be nigerians, some of us don't love learning from others people mistakes till it happens directly to us that is when we learn the hard way. Secondly, this bitcoin forum way we dey na a place of collective ideas, bring your thoughts me too bring mine any one way makes sense pass we take am, no body Sabi pass God, bitcoin talk is not a place where members will be using abusing words on each other that is very crazy and it doesn't make sense, however, the forum will be more interested and easy going if ideas are shared between members with out any form of backlashing or abusing word.

What you just explain OP can not possible 1million naira is about $700 while 200 thansand naira is just $130 the dump gap is much Bitcoin is not like shitcoins that will suddenly drop to zero from hero, it also seems to that you have no basic knowledge about Bitcoin investment, Bitcoin investment is not a Ponzi scheme that you will Invest with $10 and suddenly expect $100 worth of value in the next day no bitcoin is a long time project that you don't even need to panic when experiencing some decline in the market if your plans is to hold for long, Bitcoin is a volatile asset it goes up and down and appreciate in value as time goes on Bitcoin is currently doing well now so your focus shouldn't be in the market price rather your focus should be on how you can be accumulating more Bitcoin and HODL.
Bitcoin investment should be done with our discretionary income that's our leftover income money we can actually let go or money we can afford to loss with the DCA strategy you can start accumulating Bitcoin gradually and hodl for the future.
You have spoken like a legend by hitting key points and making numerous clerification to the level of a lay man understanding, however, many folks think bitcoin investment is a quick one that they can just jumb in and hitting it big without passing through the due processes of patients and consistent accumulation.

One thing is certain, provided what is been invested is what you can afford to lost in other words discretionary funds no matter how deep bitcoin drops you have no reason to panic.

Keeping yourself educated is the most important thing, every other thing is inclusive in this...if you keep yourself educated you'd know how to use your device properly and the things you should avoid in order not to get scammed..scammers use ads to defraud gullible people, its not wise to click on every add that pops up on your screen especially the ones that would direct you to a site asking for your personal information, some are even bugs that can get info your device.
Actually education is what we need, but most of the people that's being scammed are educated, if someone can scam Donald Trump who is a usa president that means nobody is exempted in scam, we have to understand such scenario of scam, the thing is that we have to be careful in anything we do that related with business neither online business or offline business we need to be careful of it, because in investment we have to open our eyes and also read articles that relate with scam so that we can be aware of scam
Actually, education is not what determines you been Scam free, prumument men has been scam even degree holders also, is just all about you not falling victim of it, and also doing all that is expected from you by putting all the necessity in place like the strong password, two factory verification and all that.

However, scammers has there different format of doing there fraudulent activities, hence you know their patterns and technic you are at least one step ahead of them.

In this present generation you become valuable and respected when you become the final solution of people problems or challenges, no body cares about you if you can't fix there issues,   most of the world richest men In Present time attained that  level because they were able to fix global challenges through technology.

However, as a young man or woman coming up and aspiring to be great, think out of the box, try to find out what people need at the present time, make research on global issues and try fixing it and bet me the sky will be your start point.

Re: How helpful Bitcoin has been to Nigerians.
by
Yablee0
on 23/07/2025, 06:47:40 UTC
1. Bitcoin helps Nigerians escape inflation and protect their wealth:
Bitcoin helps Nigerians escape inflation by allowing them to save money in Bitcoin which holds value better than the Naira, that loses value due to rising prices and devaluation.
For example:
If you were saving 500 thousand naira in a bank in Nigeria far back 2019 till now the money has lost value however saving that same amount in Bitcoin and holding it till date would have added more value to the money equaling it to millions of Naira today.

2. access global financial opportunities:
Bitcoin helps Nigerians to do online business, or freelance globally without needing foreign bank accounts or dollar approval.
A lot of people in Nigeria are now working online and in different countries while still based in Nigeria and payment of salary is then made easy, most of us here receive payment from our different campaign through Bitcoin.

Bitcoin has done so much for us in present time by creating a financial opportunity through long-term investment plan, making it possible for an individuals to have a total control of is money without be disturb by any governmental law.

However, bitcoin has also served as a source of income to many nigerians through forum signature campaign.

Keep gas away from your kids

on 23/07/2025, 04:45:20 UTC
Bringing this ugly experience of mine to this forum is another way of telling God thank you for taking away sorrow and bad news away from my household this year, it was about few days ago when I and my family was just having our afternoon rest (asleep) we never knew  that my junior son has already woken up and then went straight to the kitchen to open up the gas handle, after some time I didn't know what really woke me up but I will say it his God, the whole house was engolf with gas pollution  I ran straight to the kitchen and realized the gas bottle was opened by my little boy, 6kg gas well filled became empty I picked up my son call my wife and the rest of them and we all now went out of the house, I opened up every door and windows for free air flow.

Then I now ask my self what would have been of us if someone smoking was around or any neighbor around the neighborhood was using fire at that point in time, God did a great thing for me and my family.

Pls keep gas away from your kids, let it be totally out of there reach to avoid story that touch.

That is a very good innovation
at least is a welcome development to our children by creating an opportunity for those children that is aspiring to go deep into the digital world and knowing more about tech. One other thing is that let the registration fees be low so that a poor family or common person can also take advantage of the golden opportunity.

Normally nothing good comes easier so if someone is promising you that you should invest or bring a certain amount of your coins for him to get it doubled for you is simply crazy and funny because a normal person even without been told will know is just a cheap scam. Greed is the only thing that can make any folks fall for that cheap scam,

Just like the OP said they have there kind of terms (language been use) that always sounds hastefully, once that is senses or noticed run or you have your self to blame.

All these information suppose don reach many Nigerian but before e go round to everyone, no be this generation, e go tey. Some people never know wetin be crypto, and some wey don hear see am as scam and so them no wan partake in it.
Na'im make we go take am upon our self as responsibility to help educate this people way never know the benefits way them the miss from this digital innovation way them call bitcoin. All of those way di see am as scam na because person way dey closer to them way them trust never talk to them about am. You know say it dey easy to convince person from the position of trust.
Anybody that needs to be convinced must be ready to be convinced, I no wan waste my time and energy to person wey no wan hear me, and I no go take am as my responsibility except say I demand money from you for educational fee, only that can let me take responsibility.

Na only in Nigeria wey be say, teacher go regret teaching people for free, them no go value am, them go just treat you like bullshit. Anybody wey wan learn go pay, and any wey dey close to me that trust me as you talk must be loyal and ready to be convinced, period.
Honestly, I don't know why most people in Nigeria are still acting blind to notice the great impact of bitcoin to humanity, even when you try teaching or enlightening them on how it works they will still show sign of not been interested in it, so just like our brother said there is no need wasting time for someone that doesn't give a Damme on what you are putting so much effort to show him or her so it is better you give him space for him to learn the hard way, maybe by that time bitcoin is almost at it pick then he or she will be the one running after you to put him through.

Re: [Cautions/Warnings] Protect Your Personal Information (PYPI)
by
Yablee0
on 21/07/2025, 19:38:40 UTC
In today's world information leaks has been a very difficult issue to be tackle or handled by website or socials that we give out informations to protect us, we have witnessed several hacks leading to informations people's information being used on the DarkWeb for activities that aren't speakable.

Hence protecting our information should be part of our top priorities not just here on the forum but including every where we find ourselves using the internet, especially our social media accounts. (This forum seems more secure with our informations but however if you commit a big crime that is way beyond the forum internal control the admins wouldn't mind giving your informations to the right authorities) however, we are advised to keep some information more secured by ourselves. If you care to know more about the forum privacy terms you can read them here: https://bitcointalk.org/privacy.php

Enhance your information protection through the following;

1. Be careful what you share online; like I have said above be careful of informations you give out online, some websites have access to you deep information as soon as you accept there terms and conditions (TAC) or terms of service (TOS), you can read the documents provided by any sites before signing up, I know we have the habit of skipping terms and conditions but it's very important we read them, a good percentage of people don't usually read them but I employ you to start reading them if your privacy conscious.

2. Adjust your privacy settings: After reading through this thread you can adjust how you set up your privacy settings, it helps in keeping scammers away and other stuffs. Not everyone should be able to see your informations. Like in this forum you can hide your email as an example of privacy settings adjustment.

3. What you post matters: in this forum and any other place whatever you're posting is very important to you and the world at large, you could implicate yourself or anyone with what you post, so be extremely careful what you post and things you don't post.

Here in Nigeria, some of our people do not value privacy so they post whatever they see, currently getting a VISA to a country like the US and some other countries, they use high techs like Artificial intelligence to look in to your socials and see the kind of things you post related to their countries and can use that to deny you visa.

5. Use secured medias or avoid them totally;
Some of us here use telegram without adjusting our settings, it's very bad because since we just crypto groups on telegram and other socials to get informations some times scammers join those groups hence messaging you or sending unsolicited DMs come from there, so you can chose who can send you messages and how, that helps a lot to secure you from unsolicited DMs.
This like a wake up call to all forum members, and to remind us one again that our privacy is our power and it most be  well protected.

Many have lost billions in dollars because of carelessness, our personal information is what represents you, and most not be exposed to any person, Hackers in present time has grown so advanced that with just a piece of information about you, you are  gone for life so I urge you all to be more careful when it concerns your personal information, mind every single step been made online not every link you click or every chat you respond to most of them are traps that with just a mere click you are gone, however when protecting your personal information becomes your first priority you rarely fall  victim of any kind.
