hi,
how can i update the cgminer version from a antminer s1? Normally the software is deployed with a new firmware.

thanks
Yeah I can build binaries and ipk files now.
I'm not 100% sure of building a complete firmware file, that will come a little later.

The luci web code that displays the stats doesn't work with the correct API code, so I'll see if I can sort that out today and hack a binary that works with both the luci code and of course includes the correct API output for anyone who accesses it.

hi,
thats sounds good

Hi,
a short question.

if i take a look at the network configuration i find to physical interfaces (eth0 (default dhcp) and eth1 with the static default ip). I know that the antminer did only have one plugin option for one cable but what is with eth0? is there a hidden 2nd option?

thanks

hi,
is there an option to use a http proxy on multi pools?

i found this but it is only for single pools:
Code:
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY ON USAGE:

Single pool:

cgminer -o http://pool:port -u username -p password

Multiple pools:

cgminer -o http://pool1:port -u pool1username -p pool1password -o http://pool2:port -u pool2usernmae -p pool2password

Single pool with a standard http proxy:

cgminer -o "http:proxy:port|http://pool:port" -u username -p password

Single pool with a socks5 proxy:

cgminer -o "socks5:proxy:port|http://pool:port" -u username -p password

Single pool with stratum protocol support:

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://pool:port -u username -p password

The list of proxy types are:
 http:    standard http 1.1 proxy
 http0:   http 1.0 proxy
 socks4:  socks4 proxy
 socks5:  socks5 proxy
 socks4a: socks4a proxy
 socks5h: socks5 proxy using a hostname

Re: Bitmain AntMiner U1 Tips & Tricks

Guys, I have a strange Problem. Hope someone is able to help me. 0.05BTC bounty for getting my miners to atleast 2,6 Ghash each

I got 16 Antminer U1. All are running at 1,088 V. I have a 49 Port USB Hub and a 450W PSU exclusively for those 16 U1. I have additional coolers attached and a fan blowing cool air. The Miners get definitely not too warm.

I tried Bitmain´s Cgminer, different BFGminer version on Windows, Minepeon and Raspcontrol. Cgminer gave me too much errors and for BFGminer I have the following Problem:

While I should be able to get 48 or atleast 44,8 Ghash out of the 16 U1, I get far less. Recently did some testing with BFGminer 3.10 and Raspcontrol

At 4D81 I get 6 Ghash
At 4C81  I get  10 Ghash
At 0B81  I get  12 Ghash
At 0A81  I get  15 Ghash
At 0981  I get  14 Ghash
At 0781  I get 10 Ghash

The Problem here is, that most Miners run somewhere under 500 Mhash. No Hardware Errors. Those U1 who do more Ghash are getting warmer then those who only do some Mhash. From test to test the variance is very big.

Currently they run with 4C81 under BFGminer 3.9.0 and Minepeon with 25Ghash. For some reason the hashrates with bfgminer 3.9.0 are similar among all sticks. The best result I got so far was about 30Ghash (also BFGminer 3.9.0 and Minepeon). The funny thing is, that I didn't give any frequenzy to BFGminer in this test so that the Miner should have run with 1,6Ghash. For some reasen they did nearly 2Ghash. This was absolut stable (ran for <24 hours). Again: I do not get any errors (or very very few on some sticks <.1) beyond 4E81.

Sorry for the bad english  Huh

Thanks
Muto

hi guys , I've tried to mod R1 and R2 to the value of 10k and 4.99k according to the instruction for ocing, but unsuccessfull.  My 2 ants oced at 2gh to start out with but then they start to droped after 5 minutes of start up to the lower hashing rate, less than 1 gh.  I did have a fan on them with no heatsink though, the ants were really hot.   Without success so I  decided  to change R1 and R2 back to the way they were, but now my hashing rate stay about 1.54gh and 1.58gh at oc 0981.   What have I done wrong here, thanks for your help in advance.

Hi,
less power?

i power my modded antminer with a y usb cable on a usb 3 hub.

Hallo Zusammen,

Code:
bfgminer/bfgminer -S antminer:all --set-device antminer:clock=x4E81

i do have an old thermaltake water cooling kit with 1 cpu and 2 gpu blocks. i think im gonna donate 1 of my 7 miners to the cause and see what i can pull on air then water.

same situation for me, I have a wb for cpu, one for gpu and one for chipset, all unused... And I have a 35w peltier cell as well, nice for some test :p but I'm pretty sure, with this configuration an U1 lasts little... so it coulb be for testing purpose, not for daily mining.
Let us know about the tests!

this is really nice, but are you planning to leave this for daily use? what is the expected duration of the ants @1.1v 3gh/s?

Hi,
my plan was to build it. Smiley

i like to build thinks and if anybody is intrested in it a can sell it too.

@deagel

Love the photo of your ANTminer rig.

Looks like you've removed the aluminum heat sink that comes with each ANTminer and have attached (screwed?) each ANTminer to your massive heat sink block (6 ANTminers per block). Did you have to drill pilot holes in the big heat sink block? Did you use metal or plastic/nylon screws to attach the ANTminer to the block? Or did you just use thermal paste to 'glue' the ANTminer to the block?

My way to 12 x ~3ghs with antminer u1

Hi ther i like to show you my way to get 3ghs per antminer.

Setup:
Intel Atom mini PC
- OS Ubuntu Server (latest version)
- 3 x USB3 Hub
- 12 x Antminer with 1.1V on R1 and R2
- 12 x 0,5m USB Kabel
- 12 x USB y power Adapter Kabel

I removed the aluminum heat sink that comes with each ANTminer and have attached (screwed) each ANTminer to my massive heat sink block (6 ANTminers per block).

I have to drill pilot holes in the big heat sink block and useed metal screws (the one that cames with the antminer) to attach the ANTminer to the block.

Hallo Zusammen,
bei mir laufen aktuell 9 von 12 ANT U1 miner mit stabilen 3ghs (2.9ghs), warum 9 naja mir fehlt noch ein hub.

Setup:
Intel Atom mini PC
- OS Ubuntu Server
- 3 x USB3 Hub
- 12 x Antminer die auf 1.1V eingestellt wurden
- 12 x 0,5m USB Kabel
- 12 x USB y power Adapter Kabel

WICHTIG

Welches Betriebssystem? Bei mir laufen die leider nur mit 2Ghash (obwohl @ 1,088V).

- Ubuntu Server minimal
- /bfgminer -S antminer:all --set-device antminer:clock=x4E81 -S all

Code:
bfgminer.conf
{
"pools" : [
        {

}

mittlerweile laufen alle

Getting approximately 2.9GH/s out of the Antminer U1's is pretty impressive.

Could you tell us more about what you mean by "modified antminers" please?

Thanks.

Hi,
i did it like written in the antminer userguide.

i changed R1 and R2

DC/DC output 1.1V
R1  3.74K
R2 10K

Ok.. suggest breaking this down into smaller pieces.

Just plug in your antminers (which are generally pretty well behaved) and run with a line like:

./bfgminer -S antminer:all --set-device antminer:clock=x0981 -o

And lets see what happens.  That speed is pretty much the normal limit pre-mod, let make sure they all show up at that point.

hi,
ok more infos:

i use:
ubuntu server
3 x TeckNet® USB 3.0 10 Port Hub
12 x modified antminer (1.1V)
12 x 0.5m usb kable
12 x usb y power adapter kable
only 9 are running i missed the 3rd hub.

i got it.

It look like problems with the usb3 port of my mini pc i use know the usb2 one.
