Re: Extremely poor experience with Trustee Plus – I strongly advise caution
by

I’ll just have to go back to using Binance P2P, but this time I’ll route the funds through different wallets beforehand. The reason I initially switched to Trustee was because I had been using Binance P2P, and at some point, they started asking questions about the senders of my transactions. Also, the exchange options for Ukrainian hryvnia became noticeably worse. But now, after the situation with Trustee, I’m going back to Binance P2P, since I haven’t found a better alternative yet.
If I remember correctly Trustee Plus was also working with Binance exchange when Binance card was suspended and canceled in EU region.
I don't know exact rates for your currency, but you can also check out Noones.com as decent alternative for Binance P2P.

Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity
by

Out of curiosity, are those brand new members who joined the forum and decided to stick around, or old, previously inactive members who returned to the forum (perhaps motivated by the current Bitcoin cycle).
Not exactly brand new.
One of the members I was talking about registered in 2018 but he was not active since than.
If we look at last few months and back in 2024 we had several new members that made significant impact in our local board.
Some of them are have periodic breaks in activity because they are busy in personal life.

Re: New moderator in forum?

I left the gambling sub because no one moderated all the shit that was posted there and all the campaign comment spam. Here and there I tried posting some useful stuff to create a new momentum, or report some obvious spam, but it didn't catch.
Dear sir, you know that you can be your own moderator when you create self-moderated topic?  Cool
You can also lock your previous topic and add link connection for new topic.
I do however agree that gambling board moderation could be better.

Security is relative.
You can add a new email address and enable 2FA in your profile Account Related Settings.
Theymos also said that if you care about safety of your account you should delete your personal messages if they have any sensitive information.

Re: European Union to ban anonymous crypto and privacy tokens by 2027
by

on 03/05/2025, 19:46:28 UTC

EU don't want people to have any privacy at all.
In the same time they are planing to ban privacy coins, EU is forcing people to reduce use of cash, and in the end they will try to fully ban cash.
ANyone trying to withdraw €3,000 or more from their own account could face up to €150,000 fine!

I am deleting my account and will no longer use this service.
Did you find any other alternative for Trustee Plus?
I am glad they finally sent you your money, but I would still suggest that in future you don't send coins directly from other casinos/exchanges to avoid similar issues.

Re: [alt account hunters] Which posted address formats should I look for?
by
dkbit98
on 03/05/2025, 19:32:24 UTC

I now have 200+ GB and 51 million posts ready to search through. I'm only going to do this once, so I want to do it right the first time. I know Bitcoin address formats (although I'll probably ignore the rare Bech32 multisig and taproot addresses), I've seen Ethereum and BSC, but what else is out there to search for? A regex to search for would be even better Smiley
Maybe you should consider searching for Bitcoin Silent Payment address, they are usually starting with sp1...
I know silent payments are not yet used by most people, but I am expecting to see this change in future when more wallets adopts silent payments.

Re: Banned Users Identifier

This is a great alternative for BPIP extension, but you should add it on GreasyFork website with all other user scripts.
This would make it easier to install and find by more people.
https://greasyfork.org/

PS
In my opinion banned users should be visible by default in bitcointalk forum profiles when you log in forum.
Maybe PowerGlove can make something like this in future.

Re: Difficulty accessing the forum with Tor on mobile phone
by

on 03/05/2025, 19:14:21 UTC

I would try switching identity location in Tor, but don't expect to have fast speed with Tor browser.

If you are visiting this forum often, Tor can be frustrating. I prefer to use VPN but worth knowing that they are centralized.
NYM VPN is solid decentralized option, there is no customer data or something to log, and they are accepting bitcoin and monero for payments.

Find the merged post, hover your mouse above the post date, and it shows who last edited it.
Yeah, I know that, but there must be someone who reported those posts.
I don't think that merging should happen in all cases, especially when time difference between two posts is months or more.

I just got 7 posts from back in 2023 deleted. It looks like someone is reporting a lot of old posts.
@mprep: why merge those? What happened to this?
It looks like there is a bot doing this work.  Tongue

I have an automated bot that detects potentially mergeable posts and I've recently started going through its backlog and merging posts that violate rules 21 and / or 32.
I don't like how this bot is working right now.
Some of my posts are not that important to be restored, but I see no reason to merge a post where I replied to other member with my older posts.

I did, it works great  Wink
Now it is very easy to narrow the search with specific dates and boards.
When can we expect beta Ninjastic to switch to main version?

Re: In Memory of eXch - Wallet Recommendations Not to Be Forgotten!
by
dkbit98
on 03/05/2025, 18:21:28 UTC

I do agree with most wallet choices suggested by eXch but I do have to add Cake wallet as one of the best multi-coin wallets.
Cake is available both on desktop and mobile devices and in my opinion it works better than Unstoppable wallet.
I used both wallets and I had syncing issues in Unstoppable wallet many times, unlike with Cake wallet that recently added faster background sync.

Re: Fees are low? Make your coins more private and (almost) quantum safe!
by
dkbit98
on 03/05/2025, 18:16:23 UTC

Low fees of 1 or 2 satoshis per vByte are an excellent opportunity to make your coins more safe and private. You can even make them almost quantum-safe - in 2025!
I do agree that having good address management in wallets is very important, but I don't see how doing this can make coins more safe or more private.
Anyone can easily check the history of newly generated addresses and find all previous transactions with connection to old addresses.
As for being more quantum safe, we should probably get some kind of fork in future with new type of address.

Postoji još i ekletrostatika.

Code:
A typical cumulus cloud, which is a fair-weather cloud, weighs about 1.1 million pounds or 500,000 kilograms.
Thunderstorm clouds, such as cumulonimbus, can be much heavier. They can contain up to 2 million tonnes of water.

New moderator in forum?
by
dkbit98
on 01/05/2025, 11:40:13 UTC

Do we have some new moderator in bitcointalk forum?

Either that, or some old zealous mod just got bored and deleted a bunch of the posts from one of my topics.

This is the note example I received in messages of my deleted posts:

by

on 01/05/2025, 11:08:00 UTC

RIP eXch  Cry
Exchange services are now officially shut down and that includes all clearnet and Tor domains.
I want to to thank them for supporting bitcointalk community, and for providing great unique exchange service.

Now everyone should be careful of new scammers jumping in now and trying to trick people with clone websites.
