If you have the issue where one of your vRMs is not working.  Loosen slightly all the screws of the Heat Sink.

I had one not working and sure enough after releasing some preassure on the screws all them started working.

Looks like factory is over tightning the screws.

Edit: Spoke to soon.  Came back.  Have One VRM 0V.

It is recommended to check the thermal paste on the heat sink! Although it should be non-conductive, tightening or loosening the screws on the heat sink may squeeze out the thermal paste, indirectly leading to poor heat dissipation due to insufficient contact area.
The thermal paste used by the official LV08 is red. I didn't study whether it is really non-conductive, but in the end I chose to replace it with one I trust.

Hi everyone.

First off, thank you all for your hard work on this project. I was trying to flash this custom AxeOS firmware onto the LV08 and have been having trouble. I have tried with both Adafruit ESPTool website and with bitaxetool via Python to flash the new firmware. I am running a Windows computer using a CP2104 serial converter USB 2.0 to TTL UART 6PIN module serial converter board module. From what I can tell it is flashing the firmware onto the ESP32 because it passes the hash check at the end and then asks me to reset the device. I have attempted to use  esp-miner-factory-lv08-v2.6.0-1.0.3.bin ;  esp-miner-factory-lv08-v2.8.1-1.5.0.bin ;  esp-miner-factory-lv08-v2.9.0b1-1.5.0.bin  ; lv08-factory-firmware-1.0.0.bin  and none of them get the device to work properly. The miner itself runs the fans at full speed when I power it up and the screen never displays any information. I have also tried to flash the config-lv08.cvs file at the same time as the main firmware (again with both methods of flashing) and this does not make a difference. Here is an image of what I believe is a successful firmware flash via bitaxetool: https://ibb.co/j96rgw45   Even when trying to go back to the stock Lucky Miner firmware I cannot get my device to work at all. I do not see the miner creating a Wifi network for me to connect to either which I figured is not a reassuring sign. I do not see any obvious signs of physical damage that I have caused while attempting this. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to fix this or at least get back to the stock firmware?

Thanks in advance!

Did you remove or press on the heat sink? From experience, this may damage the components below, leading to the situation you describe!
This situation usually occurs near SMD components under small heat sinks, please check carefully!

Ok hold on...I disassembled the unit, and reseated the 6 heatsink screws, and all seems to be ok.

The two vregs came back to full power.

Don't ask me why since they don't ground or somehow function other than to hold the board to the heatsink...but it seems to be better and hashing at 4.5th now.

I don't like fixes that don't have a measurable value, or reason why, but its working again.
https://www.donsn.idv.tw/VR.png
Let me answer the previous question about the order first. I think the order is U1, U2, U4 (the part circled in red)

I also found similar problems! When the large heat sink is mounted, it will be very close to the three capacitors (the red boxes), so I used high temperature insulating tape to separate them before locking them.

Hey,

I got the same issue as you - missing one of the voltages from regulators:
₿ (300016) power_management: 7F vout: 0.00, iout: 0.00
₿ (300026) power_management: 24 vout: 1.25, iout: 26.75
₿ (300026) power_management: 14 vout: 1.25, iout: 29.00

Do you know what regulator belong to the 7F, 24 and 14? is it like that? -
7F - U1
24 - U2
14 - U4

Let me please know.
I check the PCB but im not able to see any mechanical damage at the SMD components.

Thanks

You should check carefully. SMD is prone to aging due to high temperature. It is recommended to measure it with professional equipment!

I'm having the some trouble with the Vreg it seems also, what SMD cap size was it?

Perhaps I'll take mine apart and take a look.

Code:

I don't know the SMD size, but the resistance value measured after replacement is about 9.08K

I have currently changed to version v2.6.3-TCH-302. It works fine and the LOG has no errors,

Impossible.
The TCH version is for 2 x 3 asics = 6 in total.
It can not work fully with an LV08 since it is missing support for the 3rd VR.
You would be hashing at only 66% of what it is capable of.

Quote
And I have also flashed ESP-Miner-LVXX V2.6.0-1.0.3 and this problem did not pop up!
Someone provided me with a backup of Lucky Miner LV08 V1.0 firmware, and I want to flash it back to the machine.

I have the LM v1.0.0 image available at my website for download as well:
https://www.dth.net/crypto/miners/lucky/lv08/firmware/

I know what you mean, but now it works well! Although only 66%
Thanks for providing the firmware, I will try to re-flash the machine.

Of course, it is completely in line with teaching practices
But it just can't work normally
It must be LV08 version. It is impossible to use LV07.

I was not referring to you but the LV08 image out on the github might have the config.cvs included for the LV07.
LV07 has 2 asics parallel to eachother on the same VR (Voltage Regulator)
vs
LV08 has 3 x 3 asics in series on 3 VR's.
The log files imo shows that the ESP32 is not able to read certain aspects of the VR because the wrong config was included.

Since the author is already involved, I will now stop communicating.
He knows best!

I have currently changed to version v2.6.3-TCH-302. It works fine and the LOG has no errors, but the home screen says Power Fault Detected. Check your Power Supply. I have checked the power supply and it is fine. And I have not seen this problem when I flashed ESP-Miner-LVXX V2.6.0-1.0.3!

I have tried to upgrade to 2.7.1-1.0.7 using webgui, but after refreshing www.bin or esp-miner.bin, the webgui and display do not work, but the fan will run at full speed and the restart button does not work.

Did you power cycle after the upgrade ?
off (unplug power) - wait 3 seconds, turn it on again ?

Using 2.6.0-1.0.3 does not work completely, and the LOG will show the following error message.

Hi everyone, I am using ESP-Miner-LVXX from https://github.com/mrbonkerz/ESP-Miner-LVXX

I tried to re-flash my luckyminer Lv08 with the firmware of v2.7.1-1.0.7, but v2.7.1-1.0.7 doesn't work.
After several attempts, I found that only v2.6.0-1.0.3 could work properly, and version v2.6.1-1.0.5 including the new version could not work properly at all.

What doesn't work ? were you still able to access the webgui? did the display still work ?
It has happened before that the config.cvs file for the LV08 was included in the LV08 factory image.
That would prevent the ASICS from getting power. In the log files you would find that condition.
If that is the case, once you have a working 2.6.0-1.0.3, just updating the www.bin & esp-miner.bin from the above github via the WIFI WEB GUI interface, would get you upgraded to 2.7.1-1.0.7

Which firmware file did you use for the initial flashing from the factory luckyminer os to LVXX os?
