Re: Start Trading for Beginners

In respective of the way we see trading whether as gambling or trying luck, we should understand that skill is involved for anyone to keep making money from the crypto market. Trading is very complex even when we understand the market and how to read charts.

As trader, you should be ready to keep studying just like a student that is in college learning to know and pass exam. The exam aspect in the profitablity area of trading. Since there are thousands of traders in the market, reading charts, studying the market just to make profits, we should be ready to keep studying to keep getting it right profitably.

This is true. I do know some people who make money consistently from crypto trading. With that said, is it better for a complete and total beginner who wants to try trading, but doesn't have the skills, to do copy trading instead? This way even if they don't have the knowledge, they can just copy what experienced traders do. Thoughts?

You did an amazing job, we honestly didn't expect such a warm welcome on the forum, especially with gifts like the custom signatures you created.
We've reviewed the signatures, and we are really happy with them. We will definitely ask our campaign participants to update their signatures to use yours.
As a small token of gratitude, we'd like to thank you personally and send you $40 in BTC tomorrow, along with the participant payouts.
I know it's not a huge amount since our funds are limited at this stage, but it's important for us to show appreciation for the support we receive.

Wow, thank you so much for your generosity. This made me so happy that you like it! It is quite a nice feeling seeing my signatures worn by the forum members. I am glad that I was able to contribute in your campaign in such a way. If you ever need signatures again in the future or if you want some revisions in the current ones, feel free to send me a PM. I am hoping for the success of your project!

Please reply with your BTC address, and I will add you to the payout list.

Here is my Bitcoin Address: 1HovRzUN65vDBk2xXGQz5qLvDUmDUdUVdu
Again, thank you so much for the tip. I really appreciate it.  Smiley

I have updated the signature. The new signature looks awesome.

I appreciate the efforts and hard work. Your work is great. Did you announce your services in the service section yet, I think you should because you already know the work, and now you have a portfolio as well, if not before.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I am glad that the participants like it as well. I haven't made a service thread yet since it's just a hobby for now, but seeing the support and positive feedback, I think I might consider to make one soon enough.

I would personally much rather have complete control over my Bitcoin and take full responsibility. Imagine not being able to access your funds? Something like this happened in one of our local digital banks called "Maya" last August 10 where they issued a maintenance in their crypto app during Bitcoin's bull run. Basically users couldn't access their Bitcoin since their trading service was down. Yikes.

All aspects of crypto involves having a good amount of knowledge bit as a beginner it would be more easier to focus more on hodling than trading. Crypto trading is very complex -snip-

I agree that beginners should stay away from trading unless they are fully prepared and understand the risks. It is way better to just hold if you want less risk in my opinion. Trading is basically just making an educated guess. Some even say that it is technically gambling. Sure, you can improve your chances as you recognize patterns from previous market data and learn economic trends, but in the end, no one can ever really accurately predict how the market will go 100% of the time. It's not something that can just be picked up by a beginner without proper guidance. Even experienced traders suffer losses as well.

Re: Reasons to use only Discretionary Income for Bitcoin investment.
by

on 24/08/2025, 00:42:25 UTC
1. Bitcoin is Highly Volatile: you need to understand that Bitcoin is highly volatile in nature meaning it is not constant in it's price the price changes every minute meaning it rises and falls frequently
I've seen investors who have that YOLO mentality, everything that they have invested on Bitcoin.

Because of this volatility, some people are trying to go for a high-risk, high-reward strategy and goes all in when investing in Bitcoin thinking that they would make money quick. But in reality, if you don't have the right knowledge and experience, it usually ends up in them losing their money instead. Just as the saying goes: "Do not put all of your eggs in one basket". It's important to diversify your assets in order to minimize risk and potentially provide more consistent returns in the long run.

2. Protects You from Emotional Stress: If your important and essential funds are tied up in Bitcoin you will be panicking at every dip that happens in Bitcoin which will cause you emotional stress or even lead to shock that can end your life

Some people also become victims of FOMO and think that they are missing out on the opportunity which lead them to making terrible financial decisions. I found that the most common suggestion by other members is to do your own research (DYOR) first, and don't invest what you can't afford to lose.

Hello OP! I posted on Bridgoro's Signature Campaign thread. I'm not sure who is managing the campaign so I'll just quote the post here as well. Here's the link to the original post. Hope this helps!

Hello OP! I have little bit of background in Front-end web development as well as UI/UX and graphics design. I found a BBcode tutorial in the forum while trying to learn more about signature campaigns, and I saw that it was somehow like HTML/CSS. I got really interested and I was learning the tutorial for the past 2 weeks. Then I found this thread yesterday and saw that you only have one signature for all ranks. I thought that maybe I could make a simple set of signatures for your campaign to help you better advertise your project, and then give it to you for free. It's a win-win since I get to practice and showcase my design, and you get free upgraded signatures. It's my first time to make this but I hope that you like it. Feel free to use it or not for your campaign. Cheers! Smiley

Re: Bitcointalk Forum External/Internal Essential Tools Dashboard

Thanks OP! I wasn't aware of most of the tools in the dashboard. I only knew about Ninjastic and Talksearch, so this is a really great help for me. I went ahead and bookmarked it. It's really nice that I now have access to all of the important forum tools with just one click.

For the suggestion, maybe you could consider adding these to the "Built-in features with quick forum guides"? I find these threads really helpful as well.

I think it depends on the job or industry. For example, most employers nowadays in the IT industry don't really care about the degree. What's important is if you can do the job or not. They prefer to look at your previous works and portfolio in order to see what you are capable of, which makes sense. This also why there are a lot of career shifters in this field. Obviously, certain professions (Doctor, Lawyer, Engineer, etc.) definitely requires a degree. It's basically up to you whichever you value more. What matters most is that whatever you choose opens up a lot of opportunities.

Click the "Help" tab then click on "Posting". It's also on the upper left area beside "Home". There you will find the basics for posting. Personally, what I do is quote the replies of other members and see how they structure their posts, then I try to copy how they do it.

Re: Gatekeeping Bitcointalk or hindi pinapaalam sa iba na kumikita dito
by

I first learned about crypto back in 2017 noong 3rd year college student pa ako, pero recently ko lang nalaman na may ganito palang forum na pwedeng kumita.

Base sa nabasa kong guides (FAQ: Everything you need to know about forum 'activity, account ranks and merit), it would take at least 1.5 months to rank up from Newbie to Jr. member (could be around 15 days kung nag sign up ka at the end of an activity period), at pwedeng tumagal pa since kailangan mo pa ng merit points. Paano pa yung higher ranks? I doubt na maraming willing mag effort ng ganun katagal especially kung baguhan ka lang din sa crypto. I guess this explains why 2024 pa yung last post sa newbie welcome thread haha.

I don't think it's necessary to gatekeep the forum. Marami sa kababayan natin, ang gusto ay madaling pagkakakitaan. The activity and merit system filters them out. Ang purpose naman ng forum is to exchange ideas and views anyway. I think kung ang priority mo ay yung pag level up ng account mo para kumita instead of learning, mahihirapan ka talaga.

I guess Bitcointalk is not for everyone.

Re: Dedicated [Guides] subforum

I don't think we need to have another board for Guides. Anyone could create guide for anything, even multiple guides for the same thing, and that would only create more mess. It's easier to use search on Ninjastic.space website or forum to find guide you need, or just ask a question.

I posted this thread from a newbie perspective. Take my experience for example. I was using the forum search engine to find a specific topic, but the results were not relevant to what I was looking for. I had to wait 90 seconds before I was able to change the search parameters. It also goes on a timeout when I search for something too long. It wasn't really ideal for me. Thankfully I found talksearch.io in a recent Meta thread.

What I'm trying to say is that it would be hard for a newbie to know that there are such useful tools (ninjastic.space, talksearch.io, etc.), unless maybe there is a guide that we can refer to, which will make the experience much easier and better. And I also wouldn't want to spam new threads for every newbie question I have.

I don't know I think the act and process of searching for information shows conviction. If it's too easy to access many wouldn't consider it much. The pinned section of every board always covers the basic. I think this is enough and a subforum isn't really needed.

I think it's a given that one must put a lot of effort and do their own research. What I was trying to aim for is to at least have some ease of access for all of the useful information provided by the experienced forum members. My initial thought was that it would be easier for example if you can filter the search results to be only in the guide board rather than the whole forum. I now agree though that having a subforum is too much, since just having a pinned "Guides" thread does the job as well anyway.

But I will say it is just better to create a thread and keep the thread updated (we had some in the past but not updated in years) with all the guides in an organized manner, something like what Ratimov used to maintain.

I really liked this thread by notocactus for example. It is filled with a lot of informative stuff and it looks very organized.

The fact is it's not actually necessary just like a majority of other users and also said. Basically any post that falls under the guide category will 90% of the time fit in the beginners and helpful board which actually makes a whole lot of sense considering it's created in the first place to help user (mustn't be a newbie).
It's high time users understood that too many sub boards is also bad for the forum. The more sub boards that aren't necessary the more inactive more boards become.

I do agree after reading the previous replies. The guides shouldn't be specifically for newbies, but for every user instead.

Imagine if guide subforum really exist, every thread will start with "GUIDE" and it's all mixed whether it's guide about creating wallet, guide to make Bitcointalk account secure, guide to become a campaign manager, a guide to pushup properly etc.

After few months, the old important guide will stay at the last page and new guide will come to the first page, the same thing like what you see in this board.

Anyway this thread should be moved to Meta.

https://imgvb.com/images/2025/08/07/d4547a21c054e8c41dd3348bf5a77420.png

I see what you mean. I tried to look more and apparently something like this already exists in one of the local boards. I translated it to English and funny enough, your description is accurate.

I was just left wondering since there wasn't any conclusion about the topic and the thread just seemed to have died out. So, thank you very much for the insights. Also, apologies for posting in the wrong board.

There are no need for this. If there is one update that should be done in regarding this, is for these key guides that's meaning on the pinned post on that board to be added. Creating a sub group is not changing anything and may influence spamming on that board.

A child board we are actually in need of in this forum is the security board, which no update from Theymos has been given till now.

Yup, I think having one mega thread pinned on the board containing all the useful links is more than enough. I didn't realize at first, but I definitely agree that having a separate subforum won't really change anything.

Dedicated [Guides] subforum

I have been learning a lot so far since joining the forum and reading the pinned posts in this board and in Meta as well. As I was searching for more guides, I came across this post:

I decided to look for such how-to guides and found these (probably outdated) threads:

These are just the ones that I have found, but there's probably more of them. It took me some time and a bit of effort to find these. It's not really a problem, but it was a little inconvenient. I think these types of guides are really good and should be easily accessible for everyone (especially for newbies making redundant threads).

Having a subforum for guides would be so much better. It can also be easily maintained and updated with new guides. It seems that people have brought up this topic before and even made compilation threads, but they are just being buried among countless others as time passes by. That's why I was wondering why the idea had never progressed?

Thank you for the tips! I am also a newbie and this is really helpful. So far, I have been lurking in the "Meta" and "Beginners & Help" Boards trying to understand the rules and looking for some guides. I will keep this in mind when I make my first few posts. Smiley

I guess you are very much in the right track by firstly making much of your time navigating the forum by making reading first to enable you get information that will lead you in to making relevant posts after understanding vital rules and regulations of the forum, when I started I was too hasten at first but later I realized that I have to slow down where at some point I spent almost 3 to 4 weeks only on reading without posting after which when I started posting I found out that there was lots of differences both in my posting skills and the value of my posts, you are welcome to the family I wish you the best and am optimistic that I will see at the top.

Thank you for the kind words. Cheesy

It is indeed a bit time consuming, and it requires a good amount of effort as well. Sometimes the amount of information is overwhelming as a newbie (like understanding how activity and merit works), but I think that it is necessary to learn. I've always thought that it is common knowledge to do my own research first. From what I have seen so far, I think the community is very helpful and accepting of newbies, and I really appreciate it. I've been searching about newbie guides for specific topics using the forum search engine and often times it will say that I am searching too quickly. It also goes on a timeout when I input something quite long, it's honestly a bit frustrating. But based on what I have read so far, I think it has something to do with my forum rank. Thankfully I came across this thread, and I immediately had a better experience. This is definitely a great help for me. Grin
