Sacrifice today, A win tomorrow
by

Whats your drive for a better life?
We can agree that we all hunger for the better life thats full of pleasures the world can give, from getting your needs without much stress, and making the most out of life, accessing the luxuries of life, travelling to destinations of your choice, eating exotic meals on vacations, buying expensive jewelries and clothes, a soft life with little or no stress this can also prolong your life span
But the question is "What are you willing to sacrifice" to achieve this dream, are you willing to work hard and smart now, towards achieving your dream, trust the process and never go off that lane of productivity, sure in the end it will pay off, put God first because he who has God is a plus

A society with misplaced priorities
by
saintC
on 22/10/2024, 15:16:01 UTC
These are times where young lads feel and think they know more than their parents and elderly people, hence making misleading rules and leading an unproductive lifestyle for themselves, feeling too knowledgeable to be correct or schooled about the way life should be lived, and with this notion, they end up making terrible mistakes that usually land them in a space of perpetual regret, these people call themselves the Gen Z's, the all knowing generation
No hard feelings though, afterall you can be who you want, its a choice thing, but its better to be modern, civilized and morally schooled, know yourself in this society of modern misplacement of priorities
Please, your thoughts

Sport betting have really changed the lives  of many individual and have also leed most people to poverty in Nigeria am a victim also at first you will be benefiting from it thinking that you will be winning every Day.
Am advising any one who is involved into sport betting to avoid it now it's not good for you please
Inasmuch as you play to win don't be addicted to it, thats just the thing about it
On the other hand you will agree that its also a means to test your knowledge about what you involve in like sport betting, especially football, but what ever you do, don't be addicted to it thats where the whole regret comes in

Whats your motivation to keep pushing
by
saintC
on 18/10/2024, 11:26:27 UTC
The motivation you should have is that burning desire where you see yourself breaking barriers of family history and getting it, where others in the family attempt and fail, you succeed, the laughters, the lacks and wants, I think should be enough reason to be motivated to change the narrative, Be that person

Re: Beyond tribe/religion and politics, we should be compassionate

In a system that doesnt care about the common man, I think its best we push for the consciousness about the plights of each other in this country, its no news again that most of us are facing the hardships of the country because the leaders have nothing really to offer its citizens, lets have the sense of belonging to be proactive in dealing with the difficulties we face in this country, not to first look at tribe, religion or political affiliation of the other person, lets give help if the other man needs it.
LETS BE CONSCIENCE GUIDED, LETS BE COMPASSIONATE
the issue is, if I see a job vacancy and I'm in the position of getting better a relative to get employed into that position or alternatively I can decide to employ any random person that's not related to me, would it be wise to leave my relative and go on to employ someone that's far from me? We are all living in a society where the level of unemployment is too high that the majority of people are looking out for jobs. The politicians are only opening up opportunity for the people that are close to them while others are left at thier own Mercy.

If I'm in a position to help with regards employment as a private individual, the first person I would normally want to consider is those that are highly skilled and experienced in the service am in need of and then the consideration can extend forther to skilled individuals of my immediate environment which are technically part of my tribe. For you not to face this tribalism issue, you've got to ensure that you're too valuable to the society such that even when by whatever index the employment process is being used, I'm.certain to be eligible for such opportunity.

If thier are job opportunity created by the government for the citizens accross the different regions in the federation, no one will even think about issues of favouritism or ethnic consideration before employment because jobs would have been available at the different regions and ethnic strata's of the society.

Its not just about relation and qualification, what can one do to put smile on someones face

Helping a family relative to get better in life by giving them a job is not a bad thing to do, but beyond that is he/she qualified than the random person?problem we face in the society today is favouritism, the government should not always be the way out, we can also consider doing good and creating those opportunities ourselves

Mind you, not to discourage you from lending a helping hand to your person of choice but also know that this days people we know because of tribe or relation are the ones who won't take our jobs seriously, and most times scolding them wont be considered because they are related to us, but the other person will put in the efforts knowing that the job puts food on their table so they cant afford to mess it up

Last last, everybody will become what they choose to, I know parents have a serious role to play in this regard, but what does the child do when he goes out maybe on an errand or sometimes to play, there are times the parents are not close to where the child is, so in such situation it is beyond their control, which now its up to the good in the society which we barely see these days, a child is everybody's responsibility to raise, not just the parents of that child, even the government officials and good people of our society are also responsible for the childs upbringing

If we can make and take deliberate steps against some of these wrong doings in our society it will really help build safe environ for everyone in it

Sometimes I wonder if we should welcome back the military era, I know many people will not agree to it, though me too, but look how crippled we are in a country where we lack nothing to make the country work and benefit everybody in it, no sector in a blessed country as Nigeria is working without complain, social amenities is by the grace of God, for things we don't need prayers for we will still pray to get them done just because we have leaders who don't think about their citizens, this system is messed up.......
The common man is always praying for the betterment of the country where he is supposed to benefit without stress, we talk everyday but nobody listens to our voices, its so sad

Nigeria with the same old story, its not like they don't know what to do to make this occurrence not to happen again, but their greed and always playing politics with any and everything in this country will not let them do the needful, Nigerians are just sick and tired of its leaders, who are without vision to take the country to a better and greater height, where social amenities e.g light will be stable and the national grid collapsing will hardly occur,if atall

The North african countries with their antics as usual, and I wonder why CAF is not actually doing anything about it, when ever a team both club and country sides, go to the north of africa to play a match they will always be met with unfair treatment, most times not providing security, no better or conducive training pitch or in general lack of logistics to take care of opponent teams

I don't want to believe it to be racism, but the inhumane treatment is not the best for a sport like football that is supposed to be considered as FAIR in all areas especially as it promotes peace and unity, CAF should really look at these things and put a stop to it once and for all

School no be scam, but our government don make us dey feel say no be the key and no be safe place to go, imagine wetin dey happen ryt now, no hope for tomorrow even after your education for this country

My advice na say if u get the opportunity to go school go am well, so u fit atleast knw ur right from ur left, u knw wetin I mean, nd to get handwork(skill) no bad too
But if fortune smile on u to get the both no issues get dem so as to maximise opportunity wey fit come from either knowledge, because no one go dey lost by den

So degree nd skill together deh good
But most times it depends on where life push u go na u go make a living from

This post might be old, considering the date it was posted

But it will always remain relevant based on the fact that, our economy is not friendly especially at the moment, depending on salary as at this time and age in Nigeria is the most risky thing to do

Check out a country where what you buy before is now triple of that price now, and its getting worse by the day, most times you want to ask yourself how you found yourself here, in an economy/government that is not working for the benefit of its citizens, who have gradually become strangers and unable to recognise their country as their own anymore due to hardship and no promise for a better tomorrow

To earn through multiple legit means, possibly in $ in a country such as Nigeria is the only way out if you really mean to survive here

Well we are still hoping for the better while praying things doesnt get worse than it is already
