Taking a step back and doing a lot of self reflecting helps a lot, no one is capable of helping you than you. It's a good thing that you were able to keep yourself under control because even though it might seem easy it's on of the hardest things to do. A lot of gamblers lack discipline, they give into their urge to keep gambling wrecklessly. As a gambler that has experienced and learned a lot you won't make certain mistakes again
Yes, everything should have limits, and it's best to plan for them from the start. Gambling, especially when done excessively, will only hurt yourself and cause financial harm. Gambling all the time without limits is highly discouraged, even if you have good financial standing, as bankruptcy is truly lurking. Improper gambling patterns can lead gamblers to serious problems. They not only become addicted, but also lose significant amounts of money and encounter various life challenges. These include poor relationships, social withdrawal, debt, loss of self-confidence, and more.
Gambling, when properly managed, should be enjoyable, not a problem. Of course, not all gamblers will develop the problems I mentioned above, but when they exceed normal limits, they must face the negative consequences. Therefore, set limits on time, budget, and other aspects to avoid becoming a bad gambler.
