This message concerns your ticket #SWG-201-26257. We have not heard back from you in 36 hours and would like to know if you consider this issue to be resolved. If you have any further questions, simply respond to this email.

I got this today too. They give you an hour to respond and then close. This is AFTER completely ignoring all the issues on the ticket. Been waiting for weeks to withdraw funds after I sent a wire. They are terrible and worse, it feels like their customer service is playing some sick game. I feel bad for anyone else who's wired them a large amount of USD. [HINT: WITHDRAW ALL YOUR COINS IF YOU HAVE ANY. BEFORE THE WIRE IS APPLIED TO YOUR ACCOUNT] The hold will tie up ALL your funds for at least a month and forget what they say about submitting ID and Utility. They will not release.

I have deposited $500 by wire transfer and it landed on my btc-e account within 24 hours, which was very nice.
I have bought some BTC and wanted to withdraw BTC but then it says Money hold. 702 hours left

*Depositing money through the wire transfer. The time of the hold is from 1 month. It can be removed by providing your IDs through the ticket.

That's ok.

What actually made me think is that two days ago the minimum deposit was $500, but after they received it, today the minimum deposit (min sum allowed) is $2,000
It looks like "hey, the first transfer went ok, send us the next now... with more money".

Any comments on this?

What's sad about the 1 month hold is they say if you submit ID and Utility they will remove but I can confirm submitting multiple times to no avail. They will make you wait at least 1 month. DO NOT wire money unless you're fine waiting that long to be able to withdraw USD and COINS (They hold everything). So in addition to waiting for them to credit your account they will make you wait another month to withdraw anything. If your fine leaving your cash in an exchange for 2 months then more power to you for the huge pair but seems like every week one is either hacked or implodes...

Been waiting 2 weeks after my wire transfer and initial purchase of BTC to withdraw funds. Submitted required KYC documents 2 weeks ago and again today. Multiple complaints about BTC-E holding funds and never fixing issue despite multiple requests. They've been copying and pasting the same requests for KYC documents over and over and over no matter how many times you submit.

Don't send BTC-e wires. You'll be waiting a month at the minimum. There are posts about others having issues.

How long was your account kept on hold for?

Ten days.

Hmm. 7th day for me (since USD credited; 15th days since first upload of ID docs). 7th trouble ticket. 4th time I've uploaded my documents. First time they asked me (in a response to a trouble ticket request) to provide my full name AGAIN in addition to the documents - although I used it to register on the ticketing system.. and it is of course on the ID documents.. and it was of course supplied as part of my initial document upload 2 weeks ago..

I've asked for an explanation about 15 times, but never any response other than the canned "Hello, it's actually difficult to understand what's the problem, could you describe it in detail + screenshots" or the one about the bank needing the ID docs.

I decided to go with BTC-e this time because the process with Mt.Gox seemed slow last time. But that was at least done in a day or so. This really makes me want to scream.

Guess it will have to be bitstamp next time. Can't wait for coinfloor to actually get going.

Ha! They did the "Hello, it's actually difficult to understand what's the problem, could you describe it in detail + screenshots" to me today too. It's almost like some kind of sick game they're playing where they come up with a new canned response every week and throw in one of the old ones to remind you that you are royally f**ked. Asked again today and again they also threw in the "Our bank ask you provide a copy of you ID and utility bill not more than 3 months old in high res quality (>300DPI scan) due to high fraud activity". They updated the withdrawal hold message now also (now its in hours vs minutes and they've tiered their levels of "F**k you"):

Money hold. 383 hours left

Why do I see such error? Hold is used in the following cases:

* Changing\resetting the password, changing of the e-mail. For the purpose of security. Hold up to 3 days. It cannot be removed.
* Depositing money from the payment systems with a high fraud activity. Hold from 1 to 7 days. It cannot be removed.
* Depositing money through the wire transfer. The time of the hold is from 1 month. It can be removed by providing your IDs through the ticket.

Don't know about first two but I can confirm the last one is a steaming pile as can anyone who's done a wire recently and had to play their sick game of "how frustrated can I make you". -->They won't remove the hold regardless of how many times you submit ID and utilities<--
This is how BTC-e customer service gets their jollies.

Has anyone successfully waited out the 30 day hold? I'm guessing not since this seems to be a recent thing. I think when BTC-e support replies "Fixed" they mean "fixed in 30 days, and oh hey thanks for the cash!"

Well I'm a newbie and I asked 2 of my friends which wallet should I get.
One of them recommended me Coinbase and the other said BTC-E. Not sure which one should I go for. This thread kind of puts me off BTC-e.

I'm sorry for the OP but BTC-E being the exchange it is must take certain precautions when dealing with a money wire. OP it is not uncommon for people to wait 3 + weeks for a money wire to clear. Understandably 3 weeks in this game is not fair, things can change quickly. Maybe try another method to credit your account.

That's understandable, I can get that they might have a backlog, but it's just that they never actually tell you what's going on. That's the main reason people are frustrated. They might consider saying something like "We're a bit backed up on releasing money holds on accounts that had recent wire transfers"... They could go a step further and update their website with that info. Instead support forces you to constantly ask what's going on and they never actually answer. This also seems to be a new problem as I hadn't heard of anyone having this issue until recently or I wouldn't have wired them anything. I think they would cut their ticket load in half if they said something useful.

Quite a few people are having issues with BTC-e not releasing their money, myself included. >No one should be wiring them funds at this point.< If they had some sort of backlog you'd think they'd just come clean, but instead they give one word answers or request documents you've already submitted multiple times, in an obvious effort to stall for time. Not sure whats going over there but hopefully just bad customer service.

I had the same problem happen to me except I attached the required ID's before my wire transfer deposited into my account (to avoid this specific problem) and they replied with "ok". When my funds were finally credited to my account, I traded for btc then went to withdraw the btc and had the same message appear (money hold) for the similar amount of time. I then made another ticket asking what the problem was since I had already verified my ID's, and I attached the ID proof again. It has now been 4 business days and I haven't received a response yet.

Please update us when you resolve this issue.. i'm intrested to know what happend.

Thanks

They responded to me yesterday saying that there is always a standard hold of "24 hours". I responded back with the money hold is much longer than 24 hours, its in the 25 + day range. They then responded fairly quickly after that and asked to provide an ID and utility bill. I mentioned once again that I provided a DL and another form of proof of residency (insurance) already. I also asked what are alternatives to use for a utility bill. They replied with the same answer stating that that there bank requires them to provide copies of ID and a utility bill. I then uploaded my DL and insurance once again. I will update with their reply.

My experience has been exaclty the same. Support regurgitates the same ID and Utility requirement (although I've already submitted) and they even did the "24 Hour Hold" answer and of course it's going on 1 week now since my wire. I would recommend no one send BTC-e wires, not sure what's going on over there but my spidey sense is tingling pretty hard. If I ever get access to them I plan on taking all my coins out and heading for the hills.

So I perform my now daily routine of asking for an update on when my funds will be released. Expecting no response but instead get "Our bank ask you provide a copy of you ID and utility bill in high res quality (>300DPI) due to high fraud activity." This is fair except I provided this 5 days ago before they even asked and received confirmation that the issue was fixed (it wasn't fixed)... This is turning into a sad/scary joke.

Going on day 5. I just posted a reply to my latest ticket. I'll see if I get any response. Not so much pissed that this could take a while, just upset that they are either 1) Not being honest about how long this takes or 2) There really is a problem with my account but no one can be bothered to realize that and therefore fix it. I'm leaning towards option 2 at the moment since I can't believe a company would be so vague, forcing their customers to constantly submit tickets and waste everyones time.

Not Happy with BTC-e

Live in US and after a rough time with CampBX decided to give BTC-e a try. Started out ok, I submitted a ticket 4 days after my wire to check on it. They replied same day and credited my account. Of course I'm thinking "wow I should have used them from the start". Next thing was they pretty much have an unwritten KYC requirement (On the wire info they mention something along the lines of "their bank might require ID and utility, if your money's on hold submit a ticket with the attachments". I did as instructed 4 days ago and again they replied quickly, this time with a one word "fixed". I'm thinking great. However when I login and try to withdraw my bitcoins, I'm still on money hold. Not sure what was fixed but after adding to the ticket a couple more times to let them know (politely) that the issue isn't fixed, I'm still on hold, I'm pretty much getting no responses since the obviously premature "fixed".

To wrap it up today I submit another ticket (because I've now determined they are just going to continue to ignore anything I add to the original ticket) mentioning I'm still on money hold and am getting no explanation as to why. I get a canned reply (to their credit somewhat quickly) that "money holds have a 24 hour waiting period after deposits, just wait". It's been four days, so obviously whoever replied couldn't be bothered with checking if there's a problem... In short not a good experience and having my BTC tied up with them has cost me some pretty good oppurtunities. I'm loving bitcoin but seems like all the exchanges have serious quality issues. Hoping at some point I can withdraw my bitcoins from them. For now I'll just watch the 30 day money hold timer count down, and hope someone there decides to do some customer service.
