Re: Reason I prefer saving my money in exchange to Bank
by

Bank normally is supposed to help people whenever they are in need of cash but nowadays reverse is the case, I don't know if I will say it is because of the government and currently bank charges is becoming something else, whether you do transaction or not they will charge you. Below is the reason I prefer saving in exchange to Bank

Access and liberty: money saved in exchange is very accessible provided you have your internet connection and you can transact anytime, any day, any hour if you wish to unlike Bank that sometimes will deprive customer from making use of their own money because of maintenance and some careless network issues, yes nothing is wrong with maintenance but it should be done in a way it won't affect customers and to be honest I feel relaxed and free whenever my money is in exchange because it very hard to get my seed phrase, pass key and the rest of them unlike Bank that someone can just penetrate without Bank sending you an OTP.

I can remember the last time I had little issue with bank and I was in need of that money, omor I nearly mad because they were frustrating me knowing fully well that I'm the owner of the account. The crypto space has been a blessing I mean it is always available and reliable.

It can be really frustrating sometimes with the bank issues and yeah I understand why you prefer saving money in exchange, but however, you can't erase the bank completely in your life. There are micro financial banks now with top notch customer service that you can use anytime you want unlike our old tradition bank that isn't improving but instead charging their customers endlessly. Exchange has it own issues too so that isn't much of a difference between them, you said that with internet connection you can access your money in exchange, have you forgotten that even internet connection have its issues too that could also prevent you from accessing your money? Between exchange and bank I think they both aren't perfect, I use both to save my money and bank is even more accessible for me when ever I'm doing my daily transactions.

Re: Which require more attention?
by

We know say an average nija man get two place of residence, one na the place when him de stay carry out him hustle and the other one na the village when him come out from and as e de normally be, most persons de put in the effort to ensure say them try live comfortable for their hustling ground and still set up some structure for vila so that them fit live well whenever they visit home for a season as this.

But when it comes to which of the place of residence one should invest much attention into, there seems to be some sort of difference in view because while some persons think that it's necessary that we make the hustling ground as comfortable as possible by investing hugely in getting a comfortable accommodation and giving it the best interiors, others would prefer to stay in a one bedroom apartment while they are building mansion in the village.

The thing is that we don't stay more than say a week in the village most times and we spend 99% of our lives in the hustling ground but no matter how comfortable we are in our hustling ground, people tend to judge us more from the kind of structures we have in our villages.

What's your take on this?
Should we invest more into our hustling or working residence or would it be better to invest more into our houses in the village since that's technically our real home.

Most of una already de vila like this and I go wan hear una opinion.
This thread wey you create so, better talk dey inside and for me eh I talk say na the place wey I dey stay hustle out my urgent money for survival be the number one place wey I go give attention, village na just once in a while I dey go so I'd rather make myself comfortable first in the city before I even think of building a mansion in the village. I stay in a rented apartment in the city and of course I made it comfortable for myself and before I even think of building a house in the village I would first of all build one in the city to save the cost of rent annually because my papa house dey village and I made it comfortable as well so I'm not in a rush to build a house in the village and I no even send wetin anybody dey talk.

I have been a member of this forum for quite a long time, but due to some real life challenges, it became difficult to keep up with forum related discussions and activities for years. Over the years of the existence of this forum, lots of things has changed and the forum has also become populated and rules became tighter, of which I am almost feeling like a new comer.

So, this makes me wanna ask, do you feel you joined the forum at the early stage (when the rules where friendly), right time or somehow late hours (as at now).
Going through your profile I can see that you are one of the oldies in naija section, you where here before our local board was approved and I wish I was here too nine years ago as I think it was more easier for forum members back then, challenges always have a way of making us missed out on important things as you would have upgraded so much if you were here but it's good you are here to continue from where you stopped. I feel like I joined the forum late because there's still so much for me to do and learn. And I don't have any problem with the rules because it is user friendly.

Reason why Merit should be distributed: in this thread, op was talking about how he wants to use Bitcoin to pay for his bride's dowry (bride price) and I made him understand that using a decentralized currency as payment is against our culture and tradition.

I don't know how y'all managed to read through these long text but I'm just gonna go with the title of the thread too.

Bribery and corruption in Nigeria has become a part of us, it has eaten too deep into the society/system that everyone is tired of trying to fix it. Corruption in Nigeria is like a vicious cycle that's very difficult to break as it has affected every aspect of our lives in Nigeria, our education, healthcare and governance are all in shambles because of corruption.

They youths are tired of fighting for change, we have corrupt men in power and there's nothing we can do about it anymore. We just have to channel our energy somewhere else in order to survive the storm, regardless of the situation in the country our youths are still going global and making it big for themselves and representing us well. If we choose to fight again like we did the last time there will be more damages in the Land, we the youths are obviously the leaders of tomorrow, these old corrupt men will get older and eventually kpai someday and we will be in the position they are today so let's learn from their mistakes and make the right decisions in future.

Just like there's no perfect human anywhere, there's also no perfect strategy and obviously no perfect way of life. Perfection is an illusion, a myth that we all chase but can never attain. I have seen groups on social media that claim to have the best strategy for trading or investing and people often fall for their lies.

Re: Enemy of progress/success
by
Anayochukwu
on 12/03/2025, 19:12:57 UTC
Regret is another enemy of progress. You know, after you've made a mistake, regret keeps you in that position. You start feeling so bad. If you don't move past your mistake, you're going to be stuck for a very long time.

Another form of regret is not taking a step, like instead of trying something, out of fear, you don't do it. And then you see that people who took that step succeeded. You start regretting, you start imagining things, getting stuck in that scenario. Instead of moving forward, you're stuck.

You're to fear regret instead of failure, so that you'll be able to take action, not being regretful in a way that you won't forgive yourself for a mistake or living in the past. Let go of mistakes, let go of the past, and just move forward. Let the fear of regret of not doing something push you to try things. If it doesn't work out, you've learned.

Don't ever see it as failure; see it as a lesson. Any trial that didn't work out as planned is a lesson, not a failure. Let's move with a new mindset, and things will be different.
You are right about regrets, regret can be a major obstacle to progress. It's like dwelling on past mistakes, I've been caught up in the web of regret before and it's a weight that pulls us down and holds us back from taking another step.

There are many ways to be in Guinness world record @OP, Laszlo Hanyecz used 10,000 Bitcoin to buy pizza, right? You can do the same, I fit connect you to where you go fit use Bitcoin buy fufu or land sef and enter the Guinness world record but abeg no go near our culture and tradition. You wan use decentralized currency pay bride price. Hahahaha, in my tribe you can even do cash transfer, you must provide raw cash because the money is not only for your in-laws alone but for the entire kindred. You should also think about this the other way around, what if after using Bitcoin to pay your bride price and it dips more than the dip and it losses value in your next marriage anniversary?

No matter how we preach on how to be careful and take precautions when investing in crypto currency, there will always be crypto scam stories coming up everyday, and its anonymity and volatility nature has made it a fertile ground for scammers, we can never be too careful but we can be wiser than before while investing in crypto currency. Even in other investments there are high rewards, high losses and high risks but we should be able to take responsible risks.

I consider investing to be more suitable for everyone, investing is more of holding on to your assets using the long time term or the short time or other strategy, you feel more relaxed and stress free. But trading is buying and selling frequently which is very stressful for me as I don't have the time and heart to be checking the market all the time.

Hello my people!

It is my pleasure to write in our local board today and for the first time. Most importantly I am happy to be part of this community and the cryptocurrency revolution. I give all thanks to my boyfriend who introduced me here and have been teaching me about bitcoin for some years now.

The reason for this thread is that I want to link up to real women in this forum that are within Port Harcourt. I know this is a privacy forum, but I think this initiative will enable my dream of creating a platform to promote Nigerian women in Crypto. So, if there is any woman here who doesn't mind, we can meet in Ph and start from somewhere. Thanks to you all.
I like this your idea, but the problem be say women no too plenty for this forum as I dey see am and another thing be say everybody just dey anonymous, as I dey see am too some users wey dey bear woman name for the forum na man. If you still dey serious for this thing wey you wan make you PM me make we talk and I fit link you up with my babe because she no wan dey serious and she get account for here. Meanwhile, you no do well oo how you go dey for forum like this you no even post for your own local board, you get mind o, na now wey you wan be chairlady na em you go remember us.
